Always a great experience at The Pink Grouse. The food was amazing. We had Mushroom ravioli, blue cheese gnocchi, fried green tomatoes, scallops, shrimp n grits and a bottle of champagne. Perfect dinner!
Eric, the manger, is clueless.
The service was slow and clumsy. My drink was ordered “Up”. It came after my appetizer and was served on the Rocks.
I had asked to check on my drink 3 times.
When the shared appetizer came we were not given plates.
The food was not hot and fairly bland.
I was really hoping got a good upscale experience but it fully failed.
When I mentioned my issues the the manager he seemed annoyed and said well I’ll take the drink off your bill.
I responded I’m not looking for a free drink. I’d like you to know about my experience so you can fix it.
Graduation dinner for our daughter. Food was very good. Menu a little limited, but we all found something we enjoyed. Service was excellent! Only negative is that the place feels a little bit sterile and cafeteria-like with high priced entrees.
The Pink Grouse is an amazing find in Charlottesville. It's located inside the Quirk Hotel bit is so much more than a hotel restaurant. I highly recommend it.
The service was lovely. Our server was attentive and kind. The food was cold and bland. We had to ask for salt for the hanger steak because it wasn’t seasoned. The cocktails were overpriced and not good.
Stephania went over and above to accommodate our group of eight for dinner. The food and service were both excellent.
Chef HOLLAR is very good. Took time to speak with us. We liked his food very much. The restaurant has a great location just off of West Main Street, near where I grew up.
Dinner was ok, no great shakes. We eat out a lot at Duners,Hamilton’s, The Local, Tavola, and the like. They are all better and better priced. Your food was ok, nothing special and little choice. My small piece of fish on a bed of potatoes enough for an army for $28.00???? I know, potatoes are cheap. Anyway, we will probably be back soon unless you change the menu to be more exciting to match the prices.
Anniversary dinner. Sone things were very flavorful and some were bland. The menu definitely needs sone finessing. There was a large, very loud party inside the room with the wine cave.
Great eclectic menu-everything was delicious.
Excellent food, incredible service, and gorgeous space - can't wait to go back!
Amazing food and great service! Everyone was super friendly. Great desserts too!
Wonderful, beautiful restaurant. They were prepared for my allergy issue and even gave me a menu of items I could have. Waitress was fantastic. They did leave off some of the ingredients on my dish,, but made up for it with a different one. Rockfish was great, shisoto peppers were just ok for me.
Wonderful drinks and dinner menu. Creative appetizer of oysters Rockefeller and duck seasoned and cooked perfectly, warm fluffy bread and a decedent chocolate mousse bomb. Perfection!
Everything was great. Parking was a pain but it was downtown, to be expected. Easy to find and the service was top notch. Our waitress was very nice and took a picture for us
We were excited to try a new restaurant in Charlotteville but we truly regret ever going and definitely will never return! To be honest we would be shocked to see this restaurant last a year! The four of us were seated promptly at 7:00 and it took 40 minutes (yes big 40) to receive our first round of cocktails which was just horrible. This despite multiple complaints to our waiter and the restaurant manager. We weren’t even asked if we wanted to order an app until 7:30 and then dinner order about 25 minute later. We were hopeful for a great meal but the food was bland snd app was burnt (oysters Rockefeller).
Bottom line is we would never recommend this place either all the amazing other options in Charlotteville!
Did 6 course dinner, won’t do that again
The Pink Grouse was amazing... very welcoming with delicious food! The staff was extremely nice and attentive.
I recommend it for a “date night”, special occasion or having a relaxing dinner. Charlottesville is lucky to have The Pink Grouse and the Quirk hotel.
Zero issues, great staff, and great service!
This was simply an exceptional dinner. We were given our own little corner to sit in and during COVID, that was mush appreciated. All staff had face coverings over their mouth and nose (which is apparently hard for some people to do) so we felt very safe.
Our appetizers were very flavorful and the portion was plenty to share. As a matter of fact, we didn't even finish one of them as there was so much. Our entrees could not have looked prettier. The rockfish had a gorgeous crust to the skin and the duck breast was cooked to perfection; it was all so flavorful!
The staff was also very knowledgeable about how the dishes were prepared and was able to give us some good insider info. on what went well together. This is a place you should not miss!!
Beyond amazing experience with Beth!
Food and service were wonderful. Portion sizes were on the small side but the quality was great. I would definitely recommend eating at the Pink Grouse and I will certainly be back.
New Years Eve dinner. Our server was amazing and the food and drinks were delicious.
I went to eat here because of the design. The food was terrible. I had halibut and it was oddly tough and flavorless. I had a mushroom side dish which tasted like it had been sautéed in burned olive oil and had no flavor. The other items on the menu didn't really appeal to me. My waitress was attentive and pleasant.
Great atmosphere - great service. Nice wine list and great food.
We did not enjoy our Thanksgiving meal here. For the $65 per person, we were expecting a nice meal. Instead, the meal was not tasty (not seasoned), the salad was very unusual (curly cued-cut carrots and squash) with a dressing. The drinks were very expensive and my wife was served “aged steak” which she couldn’t eat. The halibut I had was decent and the only bright spot of the meal. We sent most of it back. The manager did comp us for my wife’s meal though. We would have preferred to pay for a good meal but sorry to say, we wound up getting room service back at the Boar’s Head resort.
The food here was delicious, and their cocktails are fantastic as well. The server (I forget her name!) was so good at her job, so knowledgable about the food and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend.
Beautifully appointed hotel and restaurant with inventive and interesting food! The place is a pink dream, if you're into that sort of thing, and has some great mid-century modern furniture. Very trendy and very "Instagrammable." The food was fantastic! Definitely not run of the mill or basic. I had truly some of the best desserts of my life here: the rice pudding and an acorn squash dessert. Unexpected and delicious. The mains were also well prepared and balanced. I got the halibut that came with perfectly crispy skin and a gastric that popped with the earthy potatoes and sunchokes. It is on the more expensive side of Charlottesville restaurants, but worth it. Loved our server too! I look forward to going back for more food and to try the whiskey bar once that opens.
The food was fantastic.
We arrived looking forward to a nice meal but the only tables were outside without any space heaters. It was too cold to enjoy so we went elsewhere. It is totally unreasonable to shuttle people outdoors without any warning. Clearly, they have more to learn about how to manage what they would like to be a premium restaurant. Maybe in 6-12 months.
Great experience at the Pink Grouse - we had a wonderful dinner for "mom's night out" with delicious food and cocktails in the patio area. It was unseasonably warm for November so they hopefully will get some heaters and people can enjoy it year round. Tiffany, our server, was wonderfully attentive and funny. She made great recommendations on the entrees. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a night out with friends or even for a fancier night out as a family. They have a great kids menu for parents who want their kids to have some different options other than just chicken tenders or mac-n-cheese.
The food was delicious! We ate there two nights in a row. Beth and Juan were so friendly and accommodating. Portions were perfect....not too small, not too big. Fantastic place for a cozy and tasty meal!
The wait staff at the Pink Grouse were excellent and made our daughter's birthday quite special. The food was excellent and the atmosphere fun and beautifully designed. We will be back soon!
Loved our night out at the Pink Grouse. Everything was perfect for our large party of 8. :Knowledgable, attentative server, our food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was as if we were eating in an art gallery. Fabulous wine choices as well. We can’t wait to come back! We had an amazing time!
I was very excited to go to the Pink Grouse because the hotel is so beautiful and I was looking forward to a meal in a restaurant given our current pandemic situation. The furniture and decor was a bit basic in comparison to the rest of the hotel, but the food was what I was really interested in. The menu is great, good variety, nice locally sourced ingredients. However, the preparation, seasoning/flavoring, and taste were really disappointing. Between the three of us our entrees were either over salted, under cooked or just bland. I'm not sure if they're trying to still work out the menu or the talent is just not there in the kitchen, but for prices comparable to NYC, I expect food that tastes a lot better. I'll stick to the cocktails at the bar for now.
Service was extremely slow and inconsistent. Waiters cared more about clearing dishes then looking if customers needed some help.
The food was incredible and the ambiance was wonderful. The servers were very knowledgeable about the food, efficient, and kind. I went for a romantic dinner and it was perfect. Slightly pricey for the amount of food you get, but I thought it was worth it for the ambiance and quality of the food. I would definitely go back.
