Yes, we are a pub, however, we like to think we do things a little bit differently. As in all good pubs, we serve booze and food, but we do it with a twist. Well behaved kids are fully catered for, inside and outside the pub with a brand new kids play area in the garden. TV's in some of the pub, good ole conversation in the rest of it.

The staff were great and the service attentive and the food is ok. There are TVs everywhere playing sport, so this is a great place if you want to do that. We did ask them to turn the sound down on the TV nearest our table and they did oblige, but obviously the atmosphere is a little strange with everyone watching screens.

What a massive shame. This pub has such amazing potential but it was like it was being run by people who had never worked in a bar or restaurant before. Nobody could give me a straight answer on what was actually on the kids menu, mother in law is celiac and they had one thing on the menu that was gluten free which was a warm beetroot salad, this wasn’t warm and the salad was like slime. We booked for an early lunch so got there as they opened and tried to order the soup of the day off the specials menu but they had run out! There was nobody else in the pub! The garden is a great space with a little play area for kids, but ashtrays on the tables were full and there was rubbish all over the garden. It was like there had been a massive party the night before which they hadn’t cleared up. Such a shame as this is a relatively local pub to where we live but we definitely wont be going back.

Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday with two small children in tow. The Sunday roasts were excellent, generous portions and delicious (could have been a bit hotter) and the children's version of the roast was brilliant, my kids wolfed their lunch down. It could have been a relaxing experience, minus the kids! Desserts were excellent as well. Service was good and the staff were pleasant, and the pub is decorated very well. I would recommend The Paxton!

Such a shame that they are busy playing games with their online menu which by the way misrepresents what they offer. We will be back but unfortunately with a long gap between visits.

We have been coming here for years and it really is an oasis in the midst of an otherwise lack lustre area for restaurants. Food is good with pretty reasonable portions and some great beers on tap.

Very nice. Got there early which helped. The chicken we had was great and the service attentive. Would highly recommend.

Not sure why I booked. Everywhere else was booked out for Father's Day so thought it was wise. On arrival lots of spare tables and staff not aware of booking. Seemed like a lot of new staff who weren't to sure yet and only one person who knew.

We had a fantastic time on Saturday lunch, the staff is brilliant , the food is outstanding the place is comfortable,nice and clean. We loved the friendly atmosphere. I couldn't recommend enough.

Great atmosphere, excellent staff and a cracking Sunday roast. A must if you live south of the river particularly SE19.
