Along with being able to come in earlier than our reservation time, everything was amazing during our time here. I’d never had hot tea as they serve it here before and now I prefer it over coffee. The food was amazing and very fulfilling! I can’t wait for the opportunity to come back the next time I’m in London.
It was very windy and the canopy movement was very distracting coupled with the noise from the construction was not the high tea ambiance I was hoping for.
My boyfriend and I went for afternoon tea on my 25th birthday and were in absolute heaven the whole time. Lovely soft piano music, relaxing natural light, delicious earl grey with blue flowers and tea, what more could you want? 10 out of 10.
Quality of the tea food was okish, portions rather small (especially the sandwiches), ne refills whatsoever, atmosphere rather provisional because the actual Orangery is closed and has been relocated to a temporary large marquee.
Not good. Hair in food. Plastic-floor. Expensive
Very cool atmosphere for a special afternoon tea in London. At 11:00 am on a Thursday, there was only us and another table of two so it was very quiet and peaceful. We had a great view of Kensington Palace and the gardens and it turned tea into a very royal experience. Would highly recommend for anyone who loves the royal family, or is just looking for a special tea while visiting London.
Having been to the Orangery several times before, I was not aware that "The Pavilion" was not just a new name for the Orangery but a different location. There was no hint on the website which I think should be there. As a temporary restaurant the Pavilion is quite nicely done but nothing near to the feeling you have sitting in the Orangery. Looking forward to a nice tray of treats, I was disappointed by the things presented. Everything was okay, but not more. The sandwiches were rather tasteless and the sweet tray filled with cakes that are more practical for the kitchen than to please the eye. The service was okay but not very attentive, you had to make yourself heard although only about half a dozen tables were busy.
On a next trip to London I certainly will check if the restaurant has relocated to the Orangery.
First time in London for my husband and I. This was certainly one of our hi lights. The service was impeccable and our afternoon tea could not have been more delicious and melt in the mouth would be best way to describe it. What a wonderful environment. I almost felt like royalty. Thank you
It was good. Mood was beautiful and quite. I recommend to you.
Afternoon Tea. Delightful!
It was nice the afternoon tea was fresh and the scones delicious. Staff were OK although when they bought the tea they had to sniff it to see which was which and spilt the tea in the process on the table. They are in the process of updating the gardens therefore the view was not great but I’m sure when finished it will be lovely. It rained heavily whilst we were having tea which had an impact on the noise, that can’t be helped. Expensive for what it was.
Overpriced for what you get, two sandwiches and plain scones : was hungry afterwards, could’ve got a much bigger feed for much less, staff didn’t ask if we wanted tea refilled and the place lacked ambiance. Didn’t enjoy it and won’t be back
Very nice. Weather was awful. Staff kind. Would havel liked it to be a bit warmer in the restuarant.
Average at best. Don't waste your time until them move back into their permanent location, which is being renovated. They are in a makeshift space now and it has zero atmosphere. Not worth it.
Lovely space with a view of the Garden, and the BEST scones I've ever had! The tea set was so pretty I bought myself a cup from the Palace gift shop. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Kensington Palace area!
Apart from the beautiful setting and vista, overall very mediocre experience.
Disappointed that a roast lunch is served in a bowl type dish rather than a plate, when I mentioned this to a waitress, she replied it was the Chef's choice of dish. Also smothered in gravy rather than served separately on the side.
Had to wait ages for our dessert.
Staff consistently asking if everything is okay but then rush off, more like they have been told to do this rather than meaning it.
It's expensive for what it actually is, if the service and food can match the view then it would be another story.
Le lieu est en travaux, vraiment pas génial. Rapport qualité prix décevant
Le tea time était plutôt médiocre. Les pâtisserie sans goût et les sandwichs aussi.
Je ne retournerai pas
A great selection of tea and all of the pastries we recieved tasted amazing. Beautiful furnishings and color themes. Besides that being able to sit down and enjoy tea in a beautiful envirionment without feeling the need to rush was truly apreciated.
I have been to few afternoon tea, but there are usually of better quality cheaper and with more quantity. I was shocked by the 35£ for such a small quantity of food and not of high quality. It’s a shame as the service and ambiance was good
So beautiful. Food was amazing. Super fun to be at the palace. There were a lot of renovations (feb 20) so that’s a bummer but come spring should be beautiful.
Lovely experience, traveling with children ages 9 and 13
Le site était en travaux... sans que nous en soyons informés avant
This is perfect place!!! Thank you very match!! I celebrated my birthday, was amazing!
Everything was perfect! Great service and the place is lovely.
we came for afternoon tea & it was amazing.
tea and treats were nothing short of delicious
Lovely setting, great service and the best afternoon tea ever. Beautiful
Good value for money cooking with fine ingredients and interesting variations of british classics. Overall nice experience of lunch in the park
A bit underwhelming , No refill on sandwiches and the kids afternoon tea is just a smaller portion . Only two cakes on the dessert plate .
Fabulous food, excellent service in a quiet environment - I will definitely return. From the beetroot gravadlax to the pan fried sea bass with carrot puree and purple potato - all the food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was attentive but unhurried. It was the high point of lovely day out visiting Kensington Palace.
I visited with several friends. We had a great meal, and enjoyed our tea. It was a great environment and we were all grateful we decided to go. At the end of our meal, we split the bill evenly between us, some paid with card others with cash. We all put in exact change and made sure we put in the correct amount. However, before we left, the gentleman who took the bill came back and told us we were 30 p short. This did not make sense. We all put in 38 pounds, it would not make sense that somebody would put in only 8 pounds and not the other 30. We split the money up again to the exact cash we each contributed and some was missing from somebody who definitely paid. We genuinely believe that the gentleman took the 30 pounds and accused us of not paying to get more money. We ended up paying to not cause problems, however this ruined our overall experience and could have easily been avoided.
My husband and I had reservations for tea here on Sunday, January 19th. We were seated promptly on arrival. It took a few minutes to order our tea service but the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We both thought the tea, sandwiches, scones, and cakes were very good. There was more than enough food for both of us. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up service after our food was delivered. None of the wait staff checked-in to see how things were. After we finished, it took us 30 minutes to flag a member of the waitstaff down to get out bill. After receiving it, we had to wait almost 10 minutes for the waiter to come back to take our payment-- this certainly wasn't the level of service I would have expected from a "royal" tea. We also weren't alone in this issue. I saw another dinner go up to the waiter's stand at the back of the room to ask for his bill and pay. Aside from the poor service, the food and ambiance were very nice.
Nice afternoon tea at the Pavillion, with a nice view to the kensington palace. Wonderful sparkling and selection of food and nice tea. My friend had her birthday, and got a special surprise! Thanks for excellent service and welcoming staff!
Great experience, the temporary structure was very good.
Nice and ”classy”! And this time we especially appreciated the flexibility to let us change our booking from 4 to 2 guests - with just 20 minutes notice. The reason in our end was health issues - and we really want to thank for the understanding and possibility to half cancel the booking! Thank you!!!
