Food was good but not exceptional. Price was too high.
Uneventful restaurant with average food and poor service. The hostess is so incredibly rude.
Oysters and clams excellent, Gigi salad fresh and 16 oz rib steak INCREDIBLE!
Husbands birthday. Once we requested another table,as the first one was surrounded by extremely loud patrons, the ambiance improved greatly.
We have been here numerous times so the menu and service was as always top notch. The server, after introducing herself, started with the “how about joining the frequency club, get a card” speech, which was kind of a put off, but she was excellent, had a nice demeanor, delivered great service so we ironically ended up signing up.
Only complaint is the fun thing about going here for birthdays, is the chef and staff used to deliver a raucous and happy rendition of the mundane birthday song and unfortunately that didn’t happen. Oh and the chocolate dessert wasn’t as tasty as it looked. Overall a nice dining experience, great food, service and of course we’ll return!
Great meal with excellent service where we celebrated a birthday.
Everything was flawless.
Fantastic. Everything was great. Service, food and perfect table in the patio by the window. My favorite. Lobster, veal chop and lamb chops were all amazing!!!
One of my favorite places to eat in the Hamptons especially since I'm a Laundrys Select Club member!
Amazing food and service. My wife and I loved the Chicken Parm and the Filet Mignon
Want to love this place like I have for my whole life coming here, but truthfully since the new ownership I would say everything is sort of almost. It’s like they left them the recipes but left out one ingredient in each dish. Don’t get me wrong, I had a delicious meal, but it’s just not as good as it was. The prices are higher, the portions are smaller, ie the ever popular half and half - the plates half the size it was and now they put peppers and a sauce to take up space that no one wants! The steaks are just okay and not worth the price tag. People come here because they want “The Palm”. No more amazing schlag (whipped cream), now some imitation - did they think we wouldn’t notice?? We do!!!
Food was just average.just ok steak at very high pricing.
Food and service were very good. What irks me is getting an over $300 bill and being charged $6.00 for blue cheese and bacon on salads. Never was charged on this before. Have to rethink coming back if we get nickeled and dimes for a tablespoon of dressings. What are they charging for next? Air?
The Palm has really deteriorated since the pandemic. We have it a pass in 2020 but this last experience was bad. Oysters looked and smelled bad, the quality of the tomahawk steak was poor. Very disappointed.
Top notch meal. Wedge salad with bacon is awesome, as was the porterhouse steak and deadly chocolate cake. Half and half puts it over the top!
Absolutely outstanding service and food
Elizabeth the waitress was amazing and attentive. Great food.
Ordered a rib eye and it was barely edible. They did swap it out for a filet. But the Palm shouldn’t serve tough steak
We have been eating at The Palm in East Hampton for more that 2 decades. It has long been a family favorite. I use Opentable all the time and never write a review. But our dinner last night was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share. Shockingly, this steak house was completely sold out of 2 or 3 of its most popular cuts (both sizes of the NY Strip, a steakhouse staple.) In addition to not having steak they were sold out of a couple of appetizers. The food we got was absolutely fine but we didn’t get to eat what we came for!
Very slow service. Meal arrived except our french fries came a good 5 minutes after everything else. Ordered a piece of cake for desert. After waiting over 10 minutes for it I cancelled it. Server didn’t care.
My two teen boys are 100% satisfied with the delicious steak, from a family of original cattle dealers this is a high complement.
No social distance and no requirement for vax stayus
My wife and I absolutely loved our experience at the Palm. We started off with the thick cut bacon appetizer as well as a combination clam plate. We shared a steak which was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked along with a couple sides.
Great time as always…Joe’s the best! They’re lost wout him
Lobster delicious, excellent service
No need to return
Not what it was
Great food and service in a beautiful atmosphere!
Big disappointment save your money 💴
Sadly the Palm isn’t fu
Food was excellent as was the service but the beef seems so expensive. Also disappointed that cheese cake and donut holes no longer on the dessert menu, although the chocolate cake is outstanding
Too much oil in the food and overpriced
This restaurant is done!
Fantastic service and delicious steak! We dined in the Fireplace room and had a lovely dinner.
Joe is the best!!! Cheers!
Sadly, the quality of this restaurant has plummeted. It took a very long time to even get menus. After ordering the food, we waited about 45 minutes for it to arrive. The steamed lobster was very tough...especially the tail. The $16.00 baked potato had a big bruise which had to be surgically removed. The mushrooms came out cold and withered. We sent them back and the new batch looked more promising. The waitress said she asked for a new order.
OK, here comes my big disappointment... I am a dessert person...
The Palm used to serve a huge chunk ( 1/3rd of a large cake) with a steak knife. Carrot cake with amazing cream cheese frosting and also Chocolate layer cake with the same presentation. My friends and I sometimes ordered both and ate cake for days!!!
Betty Crocker would have been preferable to what came out of that kitchen. I ordered carrot..it was a small portion, but I could put my gluttony aside and accept that..
HOWEVER, the cake awful!! It was mushy, (you couldn't call it moist) and it did not taste good....Not like any carrot cake I've ever had.. the frosting was pitiful.. No cream cheese to be found...kind of a grey, pasty concoction holding the layers in place.
Definitely the worst, most disappointing meal of our vacation.....
Service very good for 1st half of night then forgot us. Steak price over top even for steakhouse, food was excellent
I love the Palm. Have been a Palm Club Member since 1998.
Have a History of being a Regular at This East Hampton Palm since The 1980's ... I say this to be certain that followers will not think I comment with lesser experience.
It's simply "Not What it Once Was"
I know Landry's now own all The Restaurants and I do think Morton's of which I frequent in Florida is a well run Great Food Steak House.
As for our meal.
The Salt placed by chef on "Half and Halfs" were enough to leave a rim of salt on your lips for the duration of meal.
They were out of Crab.. cakes and cocktail on 7pm Saturday night. The Veal Chop was nice size but part of that contains more than average fat.
The waiters are not the same Professional Waiters ( once dressed in whites) ...now all different dress per waiter.
The Chicken Parmigian was just ok...not as the once Italian Restaurant turned Steakhouse. The Sea Bass was average to be shared with tasteless of Garlic mashed potatoes The Grilled Asparagus were excellent.
The Lobsters looked great, however no one in our party had one.
My best advise to Palm lovers in Hamptons dining... Order Lobsters with grilled Asparagus.
Excellent food excellent service excellent ambience I will be coming back
Lovely un-rushed experience. Staff friendly efficient and patient with Hampton’s crowd.
Table cloth was stained and blinds were dusty. Wait staff were amazing, but only one was wearing a mask. Restaurant was extremely loud. Meat was great, except for the tartare which was tasteless. Other than the steak and wedge salad, the food was generally lacking in flavor.
