Birthday and anniversary celebration. I was a bit disappointed as a lady at the table next to us was given a birthday cake treat and I’d specifically told them in advance that we were celebrating too but we didn’t get a treat.
Being English I expected the scones to be bigger than bite sized, but they were delicious nevertheless!
Beautifully decorated with harp playing - just the right volume and good song selection. Always quick to replenish our tray and tea
We celebrated our daughter’s 18th birthday. The Palm Court did a great job of accommodating my vegan diet (separate plate of delicious tea treats), and my family enjoyed the menu options. The teas were amazing as always. The atmosphere was quiet with lovely harp music, and beautiful. We’re so happy they are open again.
From the time you walk in you feel like you are going to experience something special. We were there for Afternoon Tea. The floral display in the center of the room is mind boggling and beautiful. Can't imagine how long it took them to assemble all the flowers.
Our server was extremely attentive and wanted to make sure that our every need was filled. The finger sandwiches, scones/muffins, and little desserts were delicious. And we loved the large selection of teas. Our server recommended a couple of different teas, and they were excellent. The addition of a harpist that played the whole time we were there was an elegant touch. Would highly recommend this experience.
Everything was absolutely fabulous!
We were there celebrating my daughter’s 14th birthday.
The food and tea were delicious!
Loved having a harpist playing which created a wonderful ambience!
Would highly recommend The Palm Court and hope to return again around the Holidays!
Afternoon tea was amazing. Everything I could have dreamed of.
Perfect tea to start the bridal week, so glad the Palm Court reopened! Exactly as hoped, couldn't recommend more highly.
I'm a regular at The Palm Court High Tea, I'm always satisfied with my experience.
The ambiance here was perfect, and the decor just gorgeous. The sandwiches and tea were delicious, but I thought the desserts and scones could have been improved. Still a wonderful afternoon with friends -- I highly recommend this experience.
It is an amazing ambience, delicious food, and makes for a great time.
The Palm Court's tea service is a memorable, once in a lifetime, experience. Our server could have been a little bit more prompt and attentive for our large table, but nevertheless, we had a wonderful time.
Everything was awesome! Harp playing, Bellini was delicious, everything was amazing.
This is a tradition my family started doing for us girl cousins since all our birthdays are within a month of each other. It’s so wonderful. It’s absolutely a must do at least once if you’re in the city. The waitstaff is second to none. Teas are wonderful and it’s just a nice time to talk and catch up on life.
Wonderful. Truly wonderful.
Amazing staff, beautiful just great
Thank you for offering vegan and vegetarian items on your menu! This has been a family tradition and I am glad I can continue eating here even after I stopped eating meat. Can't wait to come back!
I would recommend the tea experience to anyone looking for a unique and upscale Chicago experience. The only unfortunate part was a really rude hostess who was even snippy to my 80 year old mother. Overall, it was a special mother-daughter outing. We even got seated right next to the harp player. Gluten-free option is available. Next time I’ll wear my fancy hat!
We had a wonderful time at the tea. We had plenty of food and they were great in having a gluten free plate for our cousin.
Afternoon tea at the Palm Court was wonderful, as always. The service was perfect- attentive and friendly. Amir is fantastic. I really like the new sandwiches for February. I will be back again soon! :)
Beautiful location to enjoy tea with a friend or family. Price point is a little high but you are paying for the ambiance.
Such a wonderful new experience for my partner and I. I loved it!
Valentine’s Day with my daughters 💜💜
I came here for afternoon tea with a friend and was highly disappointed. The scones were on the burnt side and not at all like the fluffy scones you would expect. The French macarons tasted inedible and the rest of the pastries and sandwiches were mediocre. The only good thing was the tea and our server was nice.
Went here for my daughters birthday and they made her feel like a princess. Truly such a special day she will never forget. We will definitely be back.
The service here is always great. Fast, friendly and courteous. I love the ambiance. The live musiv from an actual harpist adds such a great touch.
First off, maybe I'm spoiled by English Afternoon Tea (I am American, but have had Afternoon Tea in England/London on several occasions), but I guess I was expecting something more elegant with better, more attentive service. I don't need, nor do I want, to be waited on hand and foot, but it would have been nice if the staff was more attentive and actually carried themselves as if they were happy we were there and they took pride in their tea service. It was all very "matter of fact". It was very overpriced for what we got, and frankly the food seemed stale. I had read similar reviews but decided to throw caution into the wind and go for tea anyway. After all, the Queen and Lady Di had tea there so they must have been doing something right. Perhaps the level of service has dwindled in the decades since. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I would definitely not return and I would not recommend Tea at Palm Court to anyone.
Special place for afternoon tea. Highly recommend!
My daughter and I were celebrating and we decided on the high tea at The Drake as it is gorgeous and offers a long Chicago history. The Palm Court is quite beautiful as well.
With that said, the food is shameful. Just about inedible. I’m not opposed to using common ingredient to plus a great item, but when the potato chip on top of the egg salad and the malted milk ball on the chocolate dessert was lame.
I’m happy to share the service was attentive and friendly and that helped so much to make the experience better. What a shame.
What a lovely afternoon tea we had! The Palm Court is everything one would expect of a traditional tea. The ambiance was peaceful, romantic, totally elevated by the lovely harp being played. The food selection was classic and replenished as needed. The tea choices were extensive. Service was professional and friendly. A wonderful way to while away a wintry afternoon. Excellent for all ages.
Nice tea! Beautiful setting. There were too many sweet items offered and not enough savory. Otherwise everything was delicious.
The hotel is beautiful, the Palm Court is gorgeous. Our server was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of. The only issue is with the quality of the food. The food seemed like it was prepared the day before, not fresh. I felt like I was on a cruise ship, being served cafeteria quality food. It is worth going to once, but the quality just isn't there and if I am going to spend over $200, I want the food to match that.
We were celebrating closing on a property that same day and also Valentine’s Day.
We always love to go to the Palm Court when the "Flat Cats" are there. The service is excellent - it's a first class place to sit back, relax, have a nice dinner and enjoy the music - generally winding up getting on the dance floor. A great time - and we love to bring friends to share the enjoyment!
What a perfect place for Valentine’s Day. Scored a lot of points with High Tea! Excellent service. Great people watching.
The outstanding service is what sticks out the most. Nice treat for afternoon tea, and the ambiance is great. Will definitely return for afternoon tea.
Very beautiful! Although some of the items to eat were not up to our standards for tea time (funfetti cake? Really?) we had a great time! My mom even joked asking the waiter for a tray of macarons to go, and he brought her a take out box with a few inside! I also must say that the Crab cakes were soooooooooooo F*g delicious!!!
The hostess and server where rude and short with our table of 4 and the waitress seemed so uninterested in her role. It was incredibly loud.
I say "yes", go there but ...
it was SO CROWDED - and SO noisy for a 2:30 saturday afternoon "tea" (90 min. seatings).
for $50, i gotta say, it felt FAR too expensive - the platter of foods were mediocre. the tea was wasn't super hot (not for steeping) and the amount of actual tea IN my pot wasn't nearly enough for a good flavored "chai". not even close. i was offered a gluten free pastries/savories and opted for it. the white bread was, hmm, just that - and crumbly; not holding the various ___salads together (tuna, chicken, salmon). crumbs. i was treating a 12 year old family friend to a belated christmas gift and she had an extraordinary time - so i'll say that the meh-food and the high price tag were (sigh) 'worth it' ... however, the noise level was pretty off the charts - NOT a "civilized" tea time by any means. and, while we got a primo seat at the edge of the fountain and drop-dead floral display, there was a never-ending parade of folks needing to bump into us to, pushily, take their selfies. really? so - it is what it is. a far cry from many years ago when i enjoy such a lovely, quite, pinkies up time. oh - and the "Best Bathrooms in Town" boast i made to my pre-teen friend? they're looking rather tired. come on, Drake, step it up. you surely are getting the moolah to make for a much more memorable experience.
Our waiter wasn’t up to par on getting the food and later got impatient when my husband asked if you do anything special for birthdays. It was my birthday and I wanted to go to Palm court and was excited. The experience though was not good.
I loved the ambiance . It comes at a price. I wasn’t impressed with the quality of the food but overall I enjoyed the experience anyway
