The Outpost American Tavern
This place is amazing. The food and staff are both Stella. Do yourself a favor and try this food. Brunch is a winner as well as the burger, the nachos, the bubbles and buckets. Hell everything is great.
We enjoyed the Outpost- the food was good and they had a lively atmosphere.
Excellent setting for date night at the quiet booths in the back. Good selection of happy hour drinks and the food tasted great. The server was very friendly, would definitely return!
We really love this place but find the steaks are consistently over salted. This meal every thing was over salted! Also steak frites came rare when medi was requested. I think a little tune-up is required.
Went for our anniversary and it was great. Amazing and attentitive service and the food was fabulous. Must get the nachos!
Went with my two kids for brunch and was surprised at how family friendly it is — they had games and toys all over the place (probably for the young at heart, but we enjoyed it!!). The menu was inventive while still offering the breakfast staples the kids could enjoy. Good portion sizes, too. The table next to us got a Bloody Mary that looked AMAZING!
We love their brunch! Recommend for anyone looking for delicious brunch spot.
It delivers what it promises on the surface, a great little pub/hang-out spot in Fed. Hill. But for me, there was nothing above and beyond that set it apart.
This is a superb restaurant. The baked goods are mostly made in house, as well as the chorizo, the cheese whiz (yes, cheese whiz), etc. The chef, Jamie, is incredibly creative, the food insanely delicious, the service more than friendly and accommodating, portions at the brunch quite substantial. The Tavern is situated in an historical neighborhood house, and is lovely in its funkiness....but.....the food, the food!
Julie did a great job as our server. The food was very good if a little pricey for a neighborhood pub. The menu was creative but limited and some of the items shown on-line were not offered when we were there (I'm talking to you, DBFPC Bratwurst sandwich). I recommend the #10 can nachos for an entree or the entire table but there is a smaller "can" option which is not shown. Julie was savvy enough to make us aware of it and that's what we had. Very good! I would pass on the wings which were rather small in both size and portion. Our drinks were simple and well made. Be prepared to search a long time for a parking spot. Without Julie to guide us, I would have given this a lower rating. She was the difference.
This was a very cool place with very awesome people and really good food. We'll be back.
We went on the last day of Restaurant Week. Normally, I don’t think restaurant week menus are that good. However, everything we had was truly excellent! Our waitress was charming and helpful. This is a wonderful neighborhood place.
The only problem I see is that parking is difficult, so it may not be the easiest place to come if you are driving. However, if you brave it, the food is worth the trip.
We tried this place during restaurant week with a part of 8. Everyone enjoyed their choices.
The place is small and cozy. Décor was unique. Servers were friendly and attentive.
We will go back again.
We were visiting Baltimore from out of state and were lucky enough to find this gem! We didn’t realize it was Restaurant Week but that gave us and opportunity to try three courses - all delicious! And my vanilla peach mule was amazing.
Food was awesome and the service was even better. Really friendly wait staff!
Other than the salmon being a little raw in the middle all of the food we tried was fantastic. Be careful of parking in this area around dinner. I got a parking ticket. It was quiet when we arrived at 6p on a Wednesday night but it did get crowded by 7:30p.
Had a great experience, amazing food and service, comfy atmosphere.
Didn’t get seated even after having a reservation on open table. The hostess informed us that they didn’t have any tables available, I booked one on open table walked back in and they still told me that they didn’t have any tables open. We ended up waiting for an open spot at the bar and other parties walked right in without a reservation, because there were open tables even though they told us they were booked.
I love the restaurant, the bar staff, and the food, just disappointed about not getting seated and having to sit at the bar with a group and available tables.
Great neighborhood spot, warm inviting and fun. Solidly good food, with creative twists on comfort and standard menu items. Great service, great cocktails, really a gem!
Interesting menu - a fun place! I would have liked our server to ask if we needed beverage refills, but otherwise she was quite friendly.
I wouldn’t recommend this place ever again. Went twice and loved it but this time I took my family and it was just plain terrible. The food was oily. The cannelloni was the highest rated dish from the server and my sister filled a whole bowl of oil from the dish. It was disgusting. I had lamb and it was all fat. I was so so disappointed, especially having vouched for this restaurant to my family.
We enjoyed the Bucket & Bubbly dinner - champagne & fried chicken! The value was incredible - we took home leftovers for sure. The drinks, appetizer, dinner & dessert were exemplary & the staff is extremely friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone!
The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The menu had a lot of variety, so there was something for everyone.
We dined there three nights in a row! They were wonderful about making small modifications to the menu to suit our needs - mostly gluten concerns. If we were still in Baltimore, we would be going back there tonight!
Casual and welcoming neighborhood joint. Great food. We went for brunch and had an experience we would repeat!
Loved the games and various table settings (we had bear salt and pepper shakers). The food is reasonably priced, and chilled roasted red pepper soup and #10 can nachos were great! The nachos were such a large portion that we decided to get sandwiches instead of entrees, but the sandwiches were delicious, so we didn't feel like we missed out! A great time and great food!
It is my favorate place for brunch in Baltimore. The food is great and all employes are great.
My boyfriend had never had bone marrow and he loved it! The chef knows what he’s doing.
Also, coming from a very Italian family, I can honestly say the spaghetti and meatballs is amazing. It has to be some of the best sauce I’ve ever had.
Came to this restaurant with a group of 9 people. They were very accommodating and our server was enthusiastic and friendly. Food was great, classic brunch options in a cozy setting. Would definitely come back again!
This is a neighborhood bar and restaurant that should be a destination. Everything about it screams Baltimore, which is a very good thing. On a Tuesday it was packed. Very good food and not expensive. It’s a keeper.
Excellent service! Went above and beyond! Food was delicious as well and the portions were quite large.
Nice ambiance. Menu was very reasonable with some delicious brunch options. Good value considering we were in the city, neighborhood feel to the place. Good service and attention to detail! I look forward to returning
One of the best brunch places in SoBo. Dinner great too
Stopped in for brunch on our way out of town. Great food & service. Very good value. Definitely worth a visit. Will go again next time in Baltimore.
My husband and I have never had a bad meal at The Outpost. We eat there quite often . Our neighborhood go to place. The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel welcome . Great food and really well run Restaurant..
I eat out no less than twice a week and I’m constantly looking for a new spot for great cocktails, creative food, and good service in an inclusive space. This was by far my favorite restaurant visit this year, as all the boxes got checked and then some.
The fried chicken was the best I’ve had in Baltimore. Right down to the homemade condiments, (jam and hot sauce) my friend and I were smitten by everything we ordered. The service was Devine. I could go on about him for a while, but will keep it short by saying he’s a remarkable man doing what he loves and it infeciously comes through with every table.
I will be back by my self, with friends, with my girlfriend, and even with strangers. Thank you for an incredible evening.
What a great little gem this place turned out to be. The food was fantastic as was the service. It far exceeded my expectations... We will be back.
Outpost never disappoints. Every app and every entree I have had has been incredibly good. The spaghetti squash was perfection.
I’ve never been disappointed when I eat here. The food is excellent and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.
The nachos were delicious and my dinner was wonderful. I will definitely be back!
