The Ordinary Pub
Great drinks, live music and a great atmosphere. Could stay all night!
It was hot in the bar room. We asked to be moved and were told ‘no because we had already ordered’. Top it off, the food was not great.
Our server was phenomenal very very knowledgeable and had great recommendations. The drinks and food were superb!
Had an early dinner and hit happy hour, a little disappointed that taco Tuesday was cancelled but able to have the fried bison and meatloaf instead. Both were good, the bison was the best and the batter was very good.
Could not advise, made reservations via open table app for Sunday Brunch, about 10 days before hand. Arrived and was advised that lunch/brunch reservations were “not working” via open table, only dinner reservations. We had a party of four and the wait would be a hour, minimum; I declined!
We went around the corner to the Gray Market, were seated, really just walk in, and found a table for four! What luck, it was busy Sunday!
The Gray Market was excellent! Very disappointed by the response by the Ordinary Pub! Could not comment on food quality or otherwise, but don’t accept a reservation you can’t honor!
Second visit a disappointment
We started with the loaded pub fries as an appetizer, and while the flavors were good, the portion was very skimpy. The plate was not terribly large and the fries covered about 60% of the plate (one layer of fries). We both had the smoked chicken tacos and while my wife enjoyed hers, I did not find any smoked flavor in mine. As a Master BBQ Judge with KCBS and FBA, and someone who smokes chicken regularly, I know what smoked chicken should taste like and there wasn't even a hint of smoke. The best part of the dish was the asian pickles.
An experience for sure
good food, nice setting; the service was rushed though as if they wanted us out - would return
Come hungry, they have large portions and it's so good
Very unique setting and food offerings. Great small plate choices. We chose 4 of the small plates vs a dinner offering which was great with a few beers and short walk to the Savannah Theater for a live show. Service was spot on and prices reasonable. Would recommend and we will go back next time in Savannah.
Food was great. Server was even better. And loved the local beer.
Decent food. Probably won't be disappointed but nothing to write home about either.
Ordinary Pub was great. Our server was attentive without being on top of us and the food was amazing. Upscale bar food done expertly
We had reservations for outdoor seating, which they advertised on line, but when we got there they didn’t have outdoor seating. Very loud restaurant. Food was just average.
Great food that’s different from the rest with great service. Some of the best food we had in Savannah.
We loved the meal, the service was perfect. We would love to return and enjoy more of your fare.
Well made and interesting cocktails. Many variations of “mules” to choose from. My bacon 🥓 old fashioned was terrific.
Food is very interesting. I’ve never had chicken fried steak but went for their bison version. That, along with the best sausage gravy I’ve ever tasted made for a delicious dinner. Just too big! Would have been perfect to split as I hated leaving 1/2 on the plate.
The Ordinary Pub hit all the right notes. Would absolutely revisit when back in Savannah
We love this pub, we enjoyed the ambiance, the live music, great service and food was really good. I ordered the glazed salmon and I was pleasantly surprised, perfectly cook and with a lot of flavor.
The duck confit tacos and burger were delicious. The service was excellent. We would definitely eat here again.
The food, atmosphere & service were all excellent.
Waitress was excellent. Food was creative. They were out of my first choice but my second choice was great. Busy, a lot of locals, great atmosphere.
Music playing too loud to hear waitress with mask. Couldn’t carry on a conversation with people at my table. Food just okay...margarita just bad.
There house made dirty martini, Absolute Olive, has an unique and delicious flavor. Their specialty burger was above average. Very attentive staff in very busy environment.
Had a reservation (maybe that's obvious). They put us next to the kitchen. They did seem to care about cleanliness.
Great experience! Food was amazing, cocktails were really good, service was excellent. 1st time to Savannah and totally recommend The Ordinary Pub
The food was great. It always is. But there was no social distancing happening at all. They were full to capacity. Also our service I think was in experienced because he didn’t time our salad and entree and about three minutes after salad was dropped to table our entree came:/. When we were through he dishes sat until another server cleared them. Then with still 1/2 a bourbon drink he drops us the check. Without asking if my husband wanted another drink. He did, and ordered another. Not sure if it was inexperience or just trying to flip quickly:/
The place has great atmosphere. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table and it was like everyone there were friends. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our appetizer- pork belly donut slides- were amazing. I had the chicken & waffle gyro. It was good, nice combination good flavor. The loaded grits were delicious. My husband had the short rib & grits. The grits were great but the short rib was basically one edible bite and the rest fat. I’m guessing it was just bad luck since everything else was good. Overall, great place
I very much enjoyed our Appetizer which was the Fried Green Tomatoes, but our main dishes were not as impressive. My Husband had the Ordinary Pub Burger which had Taco Seasoning on it, we found that to be strange, and I got the Chicken and waffle Gyro which had so much Thyme it overpowered the dish. I would come back again since the service was amazing, and maybe it was an off night for the food. We do frequent Savannah on Vacation a few times a year.
Extremely loud music combined with all the people talking was unpleasant. Food was okay at best. Maybe it was an off night.
Great casual spot! Our server was very friendly with just the right attentiveness. Especially loved the pork belly donut sliders and the chicken and waffle gyro. Highly recommend The Ordinary Pub!
All around fantastic experience.
Food and service were excellent. The restaurant has a great vibe a little on the louder side. Drinks are expensive but pretty good.
Nice NYE dinner. Good happy hour specials and dinner was yummy. Large serving sizes and good atmosphere
The Ordinary Pub was good, just ordinary, but good. Sometimes ordinary is all you need.
The food was good… waiter was super attentive, our fried green tomatoes showed up within seconds of being ordered. I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles Gyro… my daughter’s chicken fingers were very dry, and my husband’s burger was okay he says.
The ambiance was not for us: located in a basement, the decorations are a hodgepodge of generic restaurant paraphernalia, not cute, cool or cohesive. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room and there was not sufficient spacing for covid protocols. I was uncomfortable with the lack of space, packed tables, and the loud room. The menu was hipster at best - overly complicated dishes to elevate traditional. Mixed drinks were phenomenal.
Meh! Probably our mistake but we left after poor wine selection and a bad first cocktail.
We chose An Ordinary Pub based on the good reviews it got on here. I’m not sure why it got good reviews. The food was mediocre at best.
It wasn’t crowded and we had a reservation. They tried to seat us right next to another table and we asked to move further away. They accommodated us because it was half empty but there is no social distancing in this restaurant.
The macaroni and cheese was ok. Wouldn’t call it good. The burger and fries were ok. Again not calling it good.
The mixed drinks are good and the service is good.
Don’t think I’ll be back.
We are always looking for something out of the ordinary (pun intended) and this did not disappoint. We’ll be back.
We were pleased find a cozy gastropub that featured a well-thought-out menu that was unique and not simply "different." If it's your thing, try the "farmhouse meatloaf," which is one of the best I've ever had and which didn't need any extra seasoning or flavor -- it was perfect!
