The Old Man & The Sea Restaurant at the Aruba Ocean Villas
This section of Aruba is hard to get to, most important is cab service at night is next to impossible. The place is beautiful, it was empty, our table of 3 and one more table of about 6. We got here at 8:30, I would say the service was bad, but that would be an understatement. Kind nice people but the food took “3 hours “, no kidding. Stay FAR away from this place. There are too many other choices in Aruba where you get served in a normal time frame.
A lot of mosquitoes here hiding in the jungle like ambiance they have. We got bit several times causing us to eat quickly and requesting the check and desserts to arrive with our main entree.
Chef Leia and our waiter Zaldy created a magnificent and enchanting experience
Birthday ! Open table needs updating they have a fixed menu not full WAS AMAXING BUT FONT EXPECT THE SALAD OR THE LOBSTER THERMIDOR IF ITS NOT THE NIGHT YO SERVE IT
Beautiful setting. Long drive from hotel district. Limited menu, fixed price which was high but food was very good.
Hidden gem with beautiful surroundings. Will definitely visit again.
Do not go here. Let's start by saying they cancelled our reservation the night before, which was made nearly a week out via email, no phone call. We had to scramble to find a new reservation for 6 during busy season. They then claimed it was an error after my husband emailed them. We arrived and I would have to say the setting is magically beautiful. We watched the sunset over the water and were awed by the surroundings. That's where it stops. Our waiter was difficult to communicate with and claimed poor English. I asked about the lobster and was told it was a whole. Only to watch the table next to us get tails. We all ordered the snapper. It was fine. Nothing great. Portions were on the lighter side. We would have ordered more wine but we were never offered. My husband tried multiple times to get their attention but they ignored us. He finally went up to the bar where our waitress was sitting (not working) and ordered a glass to take back to our table. We would have liked more water in our empty glasses but no luck. There was only 1 other table that was being served so I find it difficult to sympathize that for $65/person that we couldn't get water. My dessert was not good: 2 scoops of ice cream with some chocolate syrup. Worst of all, for this expensive meal my husband said he was still hungry when we got home. So disappointing. Not sure who is running this place but obviously, no one is managing it. Oh, and by the way, it was my birthday :( The waitress finally said happy birthday to me as we were leaving. By then, we were just shocked. We would have gotten better service at a fast food place. Don't waste your money here
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! BEST EXPERIENCE IN ARUBA. Amazing meal, amazing stay, amazing view.
Romantic and peaceful! This was a terrific different kind of off the beaten path dining experience. Highly recommend for a special evening.
Can not say enough good things about this place. Everything was unique and amazing. We had an over the water table. The sunset set was spectacular. Even down to the waiter playing a song on his guitar for us. Very romantic.
Fantastic dining experience
Secluded and super romantic under the gazebo
The place is mystical, romantic, quiet.
We and the other party were dining for the night.
A well lit with torches and decorative bulbs small lagoon was a perfect setting for the romantic dinner or the special occasion.
The service was attentive but felt amateurish.
The wine list of 5 wines in white was missing 3 as not being available.
The dinner turned out to be prefix with menu being recited to you by the waiter and at the cost of 70$ p/p
Which we found out from the bill. Our mistake perhaps we could have asked, but on the other hand was not forthcoming.
And then the food was disappointing. The caesar salad was ok but my red snapper came out dry and my wife’s lobster tale undercooked.
The desert scoop of ice cream was just a scoop of ice-cream with some liquid chocolate from the bottle.
The romantic guitar song by our waiter made us feel special though.
Overall a bit di
Amazing, delicious, beautiful and perfect!!!
A must to do while in Aruba!!!
Amazing dinner experience! Beautiful grounds and delicious food and drinks. Service was not fast but it was so beautiful there that we were happy to spend more time enjoying it all. Only complaint was that I got quite a few bites on my legs during dinner...sand fleas maybe? Still, overall an amazing experience and very romantic. Highly recommended!
Unreal place - simply stunning!!!
Thank you for your compliments. We hope to see you soon
This place is amazing!!! You aren’t sure what to expect when walking in but the beach, view, atmosphere and food were the best. What an amazing experience and we will go back every time we visit Aruba!
