The Nolen is a destination rooftop bar and lounge that honors modern, timeless cocktails and a renewed spirit of community. Named for John Nolen, a city-planning pioneer who mapped out much of San Diego's early landscape, The Nolen is perched on the 14th floor rooftop of the newly constructed Courtyard San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center. Local and visiting imbibers can take a quick elevator ride up to discover a spirited escape from downtown that offers sweeping city views and a contemporary interpretation of the classic speakeasy.

First of all, even with the reservation, I had trouble getting a table . they first sat us at a table and then came over to tell us that we had to move because they sat at a table that wasn’t reserved for us. That being said we had to move two other times and finally get a table that was decent. To top it all off the service was terrible and they charge us an automatic 20% gratuity.. such BS

All the servers were extremely rude. It was my birthday, it was a party of 12 ladies and all of the were serving us lim a terrible mood. The place was empty and they all looked like the hate to work there, the lady even rolled their to us. Great view but horrible staff

Nice rooftop place which is great for a Sunday brunch, nice view and not too crowded. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito.

I love the Nolen every single time I go! The drinks and bites are of quality, as well as the service. The view is always beautiful. Thank you to Zack for providing such great customer service! We will be back again!

Had an amazing evening with exceptional service from Brynn and Darius as always. Their attention to detail makes you feel very welcome. Definitely one of my favourite places to visit

The female staff was super unfriendly and seemed like it inconvenienced them to serve our table, especially with the already INCLUDED 18% GRATUITY. I don’t mind the gratuity but the staff was just gossiping across our table and pointing at people in some instances. The only nice thing was the view, would not recommend unless you like expensive food and drinks.

We went to visit the rooftop yesterday (Friday) around 4:30PM. The views and atmosphere were, as always, wonderful—but unfortunately, our service did not make the experience very pleasant. The young gentleman who served us was noticeably rude. I had brought my family to enjoy the space before their flight, as I’ve had great experiences here in the past. However, this server seemed unhappy that we had children with us and was dismissive when we asked about the menu. He made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, especially when we inquired about items not listed. It was a disappointing visit, and we definitely hope to be seated with someone else next time.
