Great restaurant. Amazing food, great service. May be our last restaurant meal for a while and glad we made it count.
To loud. Why would you blast music when there is poor sound acoustics. Could not talk to others at the table to loud.
Over rated and over priced. Food was not exceptional. Ok but I would go back
Amazing evening! Fantastic food from start to finish. Squash app, mussels and char sui were impeccable. Entrees included were the duck, which was the best I’ve ever tasted, the filet was excellent and the lamb shank was delicious. We finished up the creme brûlée and bread pudding was the perfect finish. I’ve been to almost every restaurant in town and National is now at the top of the list. Our waitress Jacqueline did a great job. She did an exceptional job.
Great food, great service
We found this restaurant to be a mixed bag. It is very small, VERY noisy, and overpriced. Absolutely avoid the linguini and clams entree unless you are having two entrees as it has ten-12 TINY clams and maybe a half cup of linguine for $31-unbelievable! The funny thing about it is pasta is SO cheap if they would only double the portion you could actually call it a meal! My wife had the vegan lasagna which was very good but a bit dry and very heavy on the mushroom content, The highlight was the cauliflower cashew soup which was amazing. The drinks were also tasty but on the smallish side and also expensive, but the Lawless blackberry rye drink was amazing. They also pack the people in so close you are right on top of the people next to you and if you're at the high top communal table, well, you better like bumping elbows with you neighbor as they have too many stools for the size of tables.
We visited the National with only 3 evenings left in our ski trip. We would have gone back but could not get another reservation. Excellent food
Great food and place to eat! Drinks were amazing as well.
Great food, great experience!
We had a wonderful dinner
Our waitress Amy gets 10 Gold stars. Energetic, engaging, polite, knowledgeable.
One of the best in Telluride, but tables are small and very close together, so pretty noisy. Service staff is terrific, but there are long gaps between courses and they frequently are backed up by the middle of the evening (eg tables don’t turn over as quickly as they plan for, so be prepared to wait ). All in all, on our definitely go to list, but could be better. Also good idea to go early before they get backed up.
All good except the canned “Vegas” music.
Best way to say it "pretentious"
From the host with no smile and no eye contact to the tables crammed 12" apart it did not get any better. The space is very attractive with wine racks reaching the high ceilings and modern lighting fixtures but crammed tight and very loud.
Food offerings sounded great but were disappointing.
Serves was overwhelmed and thus inattentive. Poor lady could barely navigate the tight spaces around the tables.
Overpriced and under delivered.
Would not recommend.
Lives up to its excellent reviews. Great atmosphere. Energetic and lively. The all brick interior makes for a rather loud atmosphere which might make hearing the person across from you difficult if you have any level of hearing issue. Aside from that, all aspect are outstanding.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal
The menu is slightly predictable without any standout meals. Five star prices with cafe service quality and ambiance. A single restroom with a wait. I can see the attraction but ultimately the experience is incomplete.
Food is always amazing! The dishes are full of unique and delicious flavors!
We had another amazing dinner at the National! I highly recommend to anyone visiting Telluride.
The staff at the National is amazing, the food is spectacular, and the ambiance is very lively. I will be back!
We love the National! One of our favorites in telluride!!! Such a gem.....
We had an 8:30 reservation for a high top, but on arrival at that time, we were told nothing was available. We were finally seated at a regular table after waiting about 20 minutes. The host's initial attitude was initially nasty and defensive, but he later recovered his composure, while not apologizing, but being more pleasant. While eating, I observed that no high top was available until about 9:15. I guess the National was having a bad night.
After a couple of years in business this restaurant has hit its stride with top notch food and service. One of the top 5 restaurants in Telluride for sure.
Bring earplugs! The restaurant needs better soundproofing … food is great but you'll be yelling across the table to your neighbor.
Good atmosphere and wonderful meal. Don’t miss the desert menu - delicious!
The food was superb. The menu was so creatively designed, and there are many healthy options. The wine that the very knowledgeable Sommelier recommended was outstanding. We really appreciated the ambience and the architecture that was created in a very historical building. They respected the architecture, yet decorated in a very modern sleek way with very warm results.
One of our favorite restaurants! Amazing innovative food and service always outstanding!
EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! Make sure you get the bread pudding for dessert. Just insanely delicious and im not especially a big bread pudding guy.
The staff at the National was fantastic! The food was terrific and we had a really great time. It was both of our sons’ birthday dinner and they loved it!
Great food and company
LOVED THE FOOD IT WAS GREAT. BUT WAY OVER PRICED.
We enjoyed every minute!
Had the braised lamb shank and had sickness badly day after. Terrible table location in dining room.
Lovely restaurant and service was very good (Bill) but I don’t be back.
Great all around. Wonderful food and service.
Always have the best time at National. Food, service and comfy chairs!
Highly recommend. Everything was amazing. Make sure you save room for dessert!
All around great place! Warm atmosphere, attentive waitress, beautiful presentation of food, taste of everything was excellent and fun, fabulous cocktails! Definitely a place to come back to-thanks for a great evening!
It was our last night of vacation and the only reservation we could get was at 5:15 at a high top. It was very comfortable, but make reservations several days ahead of time to have a choice of times and seating choices. Our waiter, Treavor, was very attentive and personable. We had the filet and the salmon, and both were delicious! The bread pudding with ice ream was recommended by Treavor and it was so good. It was a lovely evening!
Eclectic wine list, 6 of us Salmon looked to be the best choice, duck wasn’t anything special . Ice cream cake for desert don’t miss.
