Located in the heart of downtown beautiful Block Island, The National Hotel Tap & Grille is the perfect place to enjoy a great meal or cocktail. Outdoor seating on our iconic Porch offers breath taking ocean views of the Old Harbor.
Dog friendly dining available, please specify in visit notes if you are bringing a furry friend. Inside Seating is also available. We do not reserve fireside seating.

Fantastic food and service-great for fiends & family. Terrific view! Can still sit outside on the porch in rainy weather with plastic enclosure. Heaters very loud. Consider heat exchanger splits. Very worthwhile for lunch/dinner and the firepits are very relaxing out back.

Excellent lobster Mac and cheese and chowder always great. Porch views cannot be beaten. Friendly and attentive service.

The National is back! Significantly improved the last two summers. Had several meals here. Food was excellent. The view never disappoints and service has been good

All the staff is very attentive, but our waitress Mary was outstanding. She allowed us to take our time, enjoy conversation, food, and the view with the right amount of attention.
