The Melting Pot - Greenville
The small tables for two are a bit "cramped" and very noisy and busy if near the kitchen. We were there for a date night, so it was less impressive than previous visits.
Service and food excellent as usual. Great place to relax and enjoy pleasant conversation while enjoying a wonderful evening.
The four-course dinner is a true dining experience; from the classic cheese fondue to the salads to the entree fondue to our dark chocolate fondue finale. A great spot for a date night, Birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Nice wine, including a four wine flight. It’s around $100 per couple, but worth it.
Our waiter Bryan was so sweet and made sure that we were informed on everything, as it was our first time at the Melting Pot. I’ve been telling everyone how great our experience was and we can’t wait to come back!
Very disappointed, I had reservation and after waiting 10 minutes was finally seated. After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone even came to the table and at the time we were only waited by someone that took our drink order. The manager who got us our drinks said that our waitress would be with us shortly. 15 minutes later and no waitress ever came to take our order and so I had to wave down another associate to find our waitress, she got us someone but the young lady came out said she couldn't help us, because it was someone else's table. So she couldn't help us and left to go get someone else but no ever came and so we left
They forgot to take our picture I paid for and my chocolate covered strawberries
Just a strip mall restaurant where servers wear blue jeans. Don’t buy one of the special packages if you are expecting to actually receive a picture with a frame it comes with neither.
Not what we expected, very hot and smelled. Expected to have fondue with cheeses for appetizers and dessert, but did not expect to be cooking our meal. The meat was not tender and the meal was very expensive:
Our server was very friendly but the service was exceptionally slow. It took over 30 minutes for my daughter to get a refill of soda. The entire experience took approximately 2 1/2 hours and that was with us knowing what we wanted to order without even having to look at a menu.
Overall, the service was great. It was our first time at melting pot and we enjoyed it immensely and we will be back the next time we are in town. The only thing that was overly seasoned was the Cajun filet mignon.
We went for our anniversary and were greeted with a card and coupons for future use, which was wonderful! The only complaint is that service was slow at first (took about 20 min to get drinks) but after that the wait between courses was about what we expected. Amazing food, we’ll definitely be back!
We sat for 3 and a half hours trying to enjoy the only evening we had to ourselves...and still didnt ever get to desert because it took FOREVER for our waitress to come back.
Went there for my birthday it was awesome! Not a thing could have been better our server was alot of fun too!
The atmosphere was cozy, comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed the four course dining experience and the create your own entree. We had filet mignon and angus beef which were exquisite. My personal favorite courses were the Wisconsin cheese fondue and of course, the chocolate fondue ( we had the S’mores fondue ...chocolate lovers’ dream). Come ready to stuff yourself but need to pace your eating so you can make it to the end. Highly recommended.....a definite must for date night or family night out!
Great place to relax and enjoy the food and family. Everything was on point.
I always enjoy the melting pot. The food is very good and filling and I always leave happy. I feel that the price could be taken down just a little. The cheese and chocolate price isn’t bad, but the entree price for the amount of food you get is a little steep. I do wish it felt more private when we go. I don’t like seeing the other People dining and wish they couldn’t see me.
The food was good. I’m not sure if they have staffing issues or if this is normal, but we had a party of 4 and it was 3 hours from sitting down to getting our check. We would get a course, eat it and wait for about 20 minutes before we even laid eyes on our waitress. We were without refills as well. Expected more since it was about $50 a person. Not sure I’ll be back.
Not sure what was going on this night, but we waited 25 minutes to even get asked what kind of drink we wanted. The floor area where we sat at was littered with straw wrappers or pieces of napkin, sugar packets, etc.
The food was good, our waiter was pleasant.
We will return in hopes that it's a better atmosphere cleanliness wise and wait time improves.
The food was good price was somewhat reasonable. I think the seating was uncomfortable ok but a little uncomfortable. 4 of us in a booth ok but when you walk by a larger booth and 2 people are sitting in it it makes you wonder.
Service started out great but once we finished the meat portion it took 45 minutes to get the dessert menu and to get it to the table.
We made 8:15 reservations, and weren't sat until after 9:00 pm. The air conditioning was broken in the restaurant, so needless to say, we were HOT! The place is filled with boiling cooking pots, so the air was damp, and very uncomfortable. We left in a puddle of sweat. As far as the service, our waiter was nice, but he was MIA most of the time. We didn't finish our meal until after 11:00 -- the last people in the restaurant. The food was good, but not good enough to make up for the awful experience. When we are spending $140 on a dinner for 2, we expect a certain level of service that was not given. The place should not have even been open with the AC broken. Seems like they care more about making a buck, than the costumer.
Not as good as it usually is we got sat a a table in the corner where it was really dark and we could barley see our menus the stove was very far away from the table so we were stretching every time we wanted to put something in or take something out near the end of our dinner it was like they were hurrying us to leave because they were closed but I asked for a 8:00 pm reservation and did not get seated until 9:00 pm it the food was amazing as always but it was not what we excpecting from the melting pot I wish I could say that we had a great valentines dinner but they really let me down
The food was decent but it was 30-45 minutes before we would ever see the server between every drink and course. There was a time when there were no other tables with people in the area we sat and we still saw no one. It was busy but not overwhelming by any means. We have been here many times and it has never taken 3+ hours to enjoy the meal and that was hurrying the waiter with the check at the end. Very nice people but they don't cook the food in the back so the prep should have been pretty quick. Not interested in doing it again soon.
I had a reservation with my girlfriend for 7:15 and we didn’t get seated until 7:45. And the food is way over priced for the value.
Great service and a great romantic atmosphere. Food is delicious!
It was great. Very well setting. We really enjoyed the time we had there. The food was fantastic! The service was great. Very polite and attentive.
Very pricey and a little confusing. A good special occassions spot once or twice a year
Took my wife and daughter for a Sunday night reservation. Our waiter was named Mario and he was wonderful. It was our first time and he made it uncomplicated. We had the four course meal. It was pricey but every course was excellent. The food and the whole experience was so good that I put it in my top ten dining experiences.
We got here for our 12:15 reservation for brunch. Our hostess sat us and gave us the brunch menu. The signs for brunch were everywhere. Outside. On the tables.
Our waitress comes and says she doesn’t know why we were given a brunch menu as they aren’t serving brunch.
Very disappointed because we love the Melting Pot. In fact, we celebrated our anniversary here just last night. We were so looking forward to brunch here.
Who’s the idiot that keeps the inside of a restaurant at 80+ degrees when everyone is dressed for a chilly 35 degrees? I understand having burners everywhere keeps it warm but you should look into ventilation at the least. I felt like I was in a sauna from all the steam engulfing my table. The service was good when we saw our server but it took him too long to come around. We were planning on a cheese and chocolate date but skipped out on the chocolate because we were tired of waiting.
Great service, our waiter Mario was very attentive and we always had fresh drinks. The portion sizes were great I left full, but not over eaten. Good prices for amount of food I received .
First time, celebrating a late Christmas/ birthday.
Informed server it was our first time and would need guidance.
She not only did not give it, but only checked on us once between salad and main course. We had to flag down a different server for drinks, and to ask where our server was.
The ratio of our fondues to dippers was extremely off, ended up with food and nothing to dip into.
Was never offered more or for that matter, anything.
The whole idea of The Melting Pot is the experience, ours fell way short!
Food and service was great. Can’t wait to to come back.
Don’t remember her name but she was wonderful black long hair collage student now that was a good waitress
We are regular melting pot goers. This was the WORST experience that we have ever had in terms of experience with this restaurant. We requested two pots (four people) due to food differences. First we sat at a small one pot booth, we were quickly moved to the back of the restaurant in cold corner. Took the waiter 25min to come get our drink order. Finally get our cheese then salad 30 minutes later. He brings out the pot that 35 minutes later STILL isn’t boiling - the manager had the nerve to say it was because the broccoli was cold! 35 minutes later water finally is boiling - manager wouldn’t even make eye contact or come back again... 4 hours later we are finally done no discount or no sorry for your service. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at this establishment and what we experienced tonight was just ridiculous, inconsiderate, and extremely poor management!!!! You definitely will not continue to have our business or our recommendation to others!
Was excellent. Wish we had one closer. We had to drive an hr and 30 mins. But it was worth it!!!
The food and service were very good. Never disappointed when I come to this Melting Pot. However, the table next to us was very noisy and obnoxious, but there was nothing the management could really do about it. The server still gave us really good service.
It was a fun pleasant experience. The service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly
Worse experience at the melting pot and I have been to a few different locations. Service was horrible. Our water and alcoholic beverages went empty several times.... the couple that sat across from us where dressed in cut up jeans and wearing a beanie and a horrible smell was coming from that direction. I thought the melting pot was supposed to be a upper class place to eat. Also the place where we sat it was really hard to cook our food. The booths where cut in half and the burner was so far away my girlfriend could barely reach the pot.... then we had another waiter come up to us and asked if we dropped something because “people don’t normally laugh unless they drop something or they are actually having a good time.” all because my girlfriend was laughing (not loudly) that was very uncomfortable. I’m sorry but with the prices at the melting pot and the 4 course experience I expect way more. I have been to the melting pot before once in Nashville TN and a few times in Colorado and I LOVED it.
We went for a "small" dinner (didn't want do to the 4 course meal) and we were given fantastic direction from our waitress! We had a wonderful meal, but dealt with the small inconvenience of a noise issue from a neighboring table which killed a bit of the "date night" romantic vibe we were hoping for.
