The Melting Pot - Greenville
Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturday: 4:00pm - 11:00pm, Sunday: 1:00pm - 10:00pm
Disappointing menu changes.
Great experience as always. My favorite restaurant for sure.
It all started with the moment we walked in the door.
The hostess was obviously in a horrible mood and the slander she used, talking to and about her co-workers was remarkably unprofessional. Not only did we wait an absurd amount of time to be seated, 15 minutes before reservation, seated 15 minutes after but we got to here the manner of rudeness of the following three couples and parties that came in. As someone who eats out at fine dining and higher end restaurants on average (2) times a week, the service, staff and atmosphere was just a disappointing experience. The best part about the entire night was the “training” waiter who attempted to do things right, and by that I mean, the waiter who was suppose to be training her, again very unprofessional, using “pet talk” and words “sweeties” and “what do you want”. I’m sorry but please do not call me and my wife sweeties or use such words as demanding as that. When we asked for the wine menu, she forgot to actually bring our wine and cocktails. When my wife asked to explain something, the waiter proceeded to take the menu out of her hand and say just pick three or four of these, that’s all. I clearly knew more about the menu and what was in the food than the waiter, when asking about the vegetable dish and tofu I was told “it is not good, I think it’s soy and tofu” ok thanks for the help. The manager or general manager needs to actually train and monitor the employees and customer service satisfaction. We will not be back to this location, I can’t believe the experience as we have been to 4+ other venues of this brand with no issues.
The service was extremely slow and our waiter was rude. He was short with with us several times when we asked him questions about the menu.
My husband and I enjoyed a date night out at the Melting Pot. This was his first visit and my second. He was worried we would have to pull through a drive-thru on the way, but was pleasantly surprised at how filling it actually was. I tried to tell him. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We will visit again.
The service and food are always wonderful. It’s one of my favorite places in Greenville.
We loved our first experience with The Melting Pot in Greenville, SC. The food was delicious and left us feeling full. We will definitely be coming back- Especially when they introduce their grill options in the next month! Our favorite part of the whole dinner was the dessert- Dark & Dulce Chocolate Fondue! I would recommend this place to anyone and it is a great place to celebrate special occasions. Our one-year anniversary date to The Melting Pot will forever be a cherished memory!
Food and Service was really good. Server was very courteous and helpful.
The food was excellent! We were seated for about 20 minutes without being greeted and had to flag down a waiter but the service was good and the managers were extremely generous on their own for us being seated and not tended. Definitely will be back!
Not impressed , small portions of main course. Very slow service
We planned to have a special dinner with our children before school starts- our kids are well behaved and were looking forward to a “ fancy supper”.
Unfortunately, our service was terrible.. our children didn’t receive their drinks till the first course was almost done. Our waiter was non existent and not attentive. My husband had to get our beer and wine from the bar as it wasn’t brought out.
We were seated beside very noisy people and our table was too small for this type of dinner.
I complained as we were leaving and was told next time I should “ask for a private table”.
We were given a free chocolate course the next time we came, but after an almost $200 dinner, and such an unpleasant experience I’m not sure we’ll be back any time soon.
Very nice romantic environment. Staff is very friendly. The whole experience takes a while so plan for that. Food is top quality. Highly recommend.
Overall good experience. Server was frequently MIA. For every five times server beside us came out, our sever came out once. Therefore we were there much longer than planned. 2hours 15 minutes. Food was good.
I had never eaten at a MELTING POT.
It was “ restaurant week in Greenville, SC”, great deal 4 courses for $30.00.
Our server was THE BEST ..
She was professional , knew the menu , charming , nurse student.
Her name is “ Charlethia”.
We will return !
Donna and Greg Davenport
Took our youngest granddaughter (14) to give her the fondue experience. What a joy. We thoroughly enjoyed the food & the experience.
We went because of restaurant week and we ready to go back. It was fun and easy to learn how to cook the food.
Service was terrible! Def not worth the money I paid
Great dessert on the spur of the moment. Staff friendly and chocolate delicious!
This is a great specialty venue! Everyone should have fondue in their life time!!
Subpar service and food at fine dining prices. Used to love The Melting Pot until we came to this one.
Excellent food. Different than typical restaurant. Nothing else like it.
We always have a nice time at this Melting Pot location. All of the servers we’ve ever had have been personable & attentive. Whalen was a sweetheart as a server. The food is always delicious. The prices are a bit high, so we usually try to go when we have a coupon. Makes for a unique dining experience that lasts a couple of hours, which we love since we usually go for special occasions. Highly recommend.
Setup this evening at Melting Pot for my wife and I who were celebrating some life accomplishments. Red wine was warm, food took forever for each of the four courses to come out, and server and manager seemed to busy in the empty restaurant to take time to check in on us, fill our water, etc.
I made reservations and did not have to wait for the table. A very high priority for me. The food was good with nice fondue choices. The service was spotty. Because of the intimate seating one would only see a waiter/ waitress if she a bye. Any issues has to wait until she came back. I thought the pricing was a good value.
Our server Beverly was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. My girlfriend needed to eat gluten free and Beverly meticulously walked us through each course making sure to note what was ok for her to eat. I tried three of the specialty cocktails and they were all what I expected, but with a creative twist. The food was delivered in a timely manner and our courses were paced perfectly. The only issue that evening was when I ordered a glass of port and it had a sour taste to it. Beverly handled the situation so graciously that it never detracted from the date night experience.
I chose this place to have a good birthday dinner with my friends and it went even better then I expected. The price was a little much for my friend but I think the overall experience was worth it.
Great service. Different than usual restaurant. Good food
Went for a birthday dinner. Really love the cheese & dessert courses. Didn’t have a great wine selection but there was a good special on purchasing a bottle on the day we went. Service was friendly.
Excellent food and service. We had a blast. Would definitely return!
The chocolate fondue was wonderful. Our server was pretty slow and not as attentive though.
We had our wedding reception at the melting pot in Gatlinburg TN. We were so busy we didn’t really get to try the food. We had a date night to celebrate 100 days of marriage so we decided to try the melting pot here in town. It was great and our waitress was fantastic. She was nice and friendly without hovering. Food was excellent!
We were there for our anniversary and they gave us a Happy Anniversary Card, which was nice. Our server walked us through the process and explained everything to us. She keep our drinks full and the table bussed. She even gave us half/half tea (half sweet and half unsweetened). Overall it was a great experience.
The food was amazing as usual. The service was just OK- a little slow as there was a lot of time between courses.
Food and service was great, plan on returning soon
Went for a lady’s night and definitely worth the drive from Boiling Springs! $35 for a four course meal and TWO alcoholic drinks... AMAZING!! So impressed with the quality of food and the taste was just fantastic. The waitress was very friendly, as was the manager. I will be sure to recommend this place to everyone I know, and I look forward to coming back soon.
Besides the crying kids & very slow service I got horribly ill and spent that night in the hospital and missed two days from work. Also spent $100 on cheese, bread and 8 tiny pieces of meat.
First time going and everything was perfect. We made reservations on line only 3 hours in advance due to a coworker recommendation to go for our anniversary dinner. The staff was super friendly and talked to us while setting up, and walked us through how everything worked. It was new and fun, and quiet enough to enjoy company.
I brought my friend Carri for the first time she absolutely loved it!! Our Server Beverly was excellent and should be recognized for her great work!!
Our trip to the Melting Pot just wasn’t what it used to be. Our server asked if we had been before and we answered yes. After that, it was just business as usual. She did her job. The normal talk from the server about the styles of cooking/ingredients etc. was non existent. Even though it wasn’t crowded, she seemed very rushed and sent someone else to ask about our drink order.
The cheese fondue tasted good but was too thick which caused the food to break when dipping. Also the restaurant and tables seemed really cramped.
