Our dining experience was very poor - basic food order wrong (cold soup/ingredients missing) and very unconcerned server resulted in our skipping the planned movie and going elsewhere!
Quality of service needs significant improvement. Third visit and no difference in overall experience from first time.
This was my 2nd trip to The LOT. The 1st time was with a large group (18 of us in total) and was 2-3 weeks ago. My overall impressions of The LOT have not changed much in that the food (we tried some new items from the menu) was still good, the drinks (when you could get them) were also good and the actual movie experience was 5-star. My wife and I had a great time watching the movie and having drinks/snacks served to our seats. Where The LOT is still a LONG WAYS from being anywhere near expectations is on the "Service" front in the Bar/Dining area. We were seated timely (we had a reservation for 6pm on a Friday), yet they did not check us in correctly so I received an email from Open Table about bailing/pulling a no show on my reservation which I brought to the attention of the manager. Once seated, they took our 1st drink order timely but it took nearly 15 minutes to get the drinks and we never saw that waitress again until we were paying. We had to flag down the drink waiter to place our food order and I had to go to the bar and stand there for over 10 minutes before the folks seated at the bar asked what I wanted and said "THEY" would flag down a bartender so I could order a drink!! Are you kidding me?!?!? If not for the great atmosphere and amazing movie experience, the service alone would cause people to never come back. That said, we get it. It's new. They need time to figure some stuff out. They just need to hurry because either THE LOT figures this part of their business out or they are going to lose a lot of customers to the other businesses in City Center once they start opening up.
our first time. I enjoyed the experience. It took a bit of time to discover the main entrance.
The service was extremely poor. It took over 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive and we had to send them back as they were made wrong. The beef was not cooked to order. There was no notice to us, either on their website or by email, which they said was sent out, that it was a prefix menu.
It was not a good night. Server got 1 of 4 orders wrong. Then it took over 20 minutes to get correct meal. 3 of us were completely finished with our meal. Manager tried to make it right. Won't be returning anytime soon.
Our first visit, food and service were excellent. The music was a little too loud, but many others might appreciate it. Perfect location for before and after movies in the same building.
Loved the food, service and the music. A little pricey but a fun place to eat and hangout with friends.
When we got to The Lot they could not find our reservation, very disorganized. In fact, they did not let Open Table now we showed up for reservation. I made reservations at least 10 days in advance but we were not seated at a table for 2 but at the end of a very long table.
Our waitress was very good so this helped. Caesar salad was not good. I enjoyed my pasta and my husband liked his hamburger. Prices are high considering environment and what is available at sports bars. There is a huge TV - we were there during Warrior’s game.
In fairness to restaurant they just opened less than a month before we were there. Hopefully with some time things will improve.
Service was spotty- food arrived well before drinks, wrong food delivered to our table. Food was pretty good overall though, if a bit pricey
The food was wonderful! The service was not good and we are pretty easy going. I made reservations through Open Table who later notified me that I was a no show which clearly wasn’t so. We had to ask for silverware and water twice after our food came. Very slow and we were headed to a movie but had given ourselves plenty of time. Bummer!
We loved the casual dining, menu and atmosphere. We’ll be back!
Horrible service. Over priced and bad food. Waited for 2.5 hrs and overcharged reciept.
Great service by Jordan and all of the people who stopped by our table to see if everything was fine.. we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be going back!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...! First having dinner then walking into the movie theater you couldn’t ask for anything more, Plus one of the owners came to our table to see how we were doing which was very nice 😌 We will be going back soon.
Merry Christmas 🌲🎄
Great addition to the San Ramon Bishop Ranch complex. Service is great with a diverse menu. Will be a regular in no time.
We love it here and go often, once or twice a week. The food is spectacular, service friendly and pleasant. Kitchen can be a tad slow, but it seems churlish to even mention that since we've consistently had great experiences. Love it!
Very hip place. The cinema is fantastic. Very comfortable lounge chairs. Food is very tasty but a little bit pricey.
Saw Blackhawk chorus perform at Dougherty valley. Awesome.
Grrrreeeeeaaat server.... Lily... professional and friendly, great service as well... she’ll do very well. Can’t wait to come back for another great experience and great food!
Food came out cold and way over cook, but the manager fixed right away. Overall still a good experience.
The service was very poor we were asked if we wanted a desert menu want we hadn’t been served our dinner yet, we had to always asl for water and our food was undercooked
Love it! Food, ambiance and friendly accomadating service. But it's new so it takes longer to get your food/drinks. If you factor that in you'll have a rich experience. When we also do a movie we eat first then have dessert in the theater.
Food was just so-so. We ordered truffle fries as a starter, which were cold and seemed prefab. The bar took forever to make our drinks. Our entrees came out piecemeal and were nothing special - really overpriced. Our request for an extra plate went ignored. Service and food quality really need to improve in order for this place to survive. Otherwise, it’s got a great vibe. I hope the kinks get worked out.
A group of 14 of us went to The LOT for a social gathering amongst friends. We made reservations about a week or so in advance and The LOT staff did a great job reserving the "community" table for us since it seats about 16 (perfect for our group). It was a busy Saturday night and it took some time to get first round of drinks so some folks in the group went directly to the bar to order their drinks. That said, once the wait staff started waiting on our group, they did a pretty good job keeping the drinks flowing (albeit we still ordered 2-3 rounds from the bar). When it comes to the food/dining, we were warned that entrees would take 45 minutes to an hour to get so the group opted for appetizers, flat breads, etc. since family style dining works well for large groups anyways. Everything we ordered from chips and guac to 3-4 different flatbread pizzas to both types of sushi rolls, were all excellent. We had zero complaints about the food. We ended up staying from 7pm to 12pm that night as the group had a great time and we really liked the venue. It's nice having something new in town and especially something as nice as The LOT. The service and certainly service "time" deliverables need work as is the case with just about any new restaurant/business but once they get that nailed, this will be a great place to continue to convene with friends. It will be nice to have a spot to hang out on Friday or Saturday nights without having to drive to Danville, Pleasanton or heaven forbid, all the way to SF. Our group will definitely be back!!
The restaurant has some potential but needs to improve on noise level and the food. It is very loud in there. It is hard to hear what the waiter is saying. It is also hard to carry on conversations if you have a large party. The food is very overpriced with tiny portion. I ordered a pasta dish that is $24. The portion is less than the size of a palm. They should lower the price and improve the quality of food.
First time visit, mid afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised how the acoustics were great and you could hear your conversation without yelling. The drinks were first class service was outstanding especially from Pam, whose attention to detail missed nothing! The food was much better than I was expecting so we will be back! I thought the bar was beautifully decorated also !!
Poor service took them 1 hour to make two soups a grilled cheese and a burger and when the burger was given to us the fries were cold. The cost was ridiculous for just ordinary food that you could get for a lot less
Really strange. Seemed like we were going to get exceptional service from the beginning, but as soon as we sat down, it went downhill from there. Was told there were a lot of gluten free options and there were only a few. It took 20 minutes to get water. No joke. And they couldn’t even remember the lemon with the water. It took three servers to bring food for 8 and none of them knew what was going on. It appeared they couldn’t speak English. We had someone with a severe gluten allergy and they had no idea what plate was gluten free. Lastly, I had to hunt my waitress down for the bill. Tons of potential, but need a lot of work and improvement to get there.
Went on the first night of business and service was AWFUL but they were very apologetic and we understood how difficult it is on the first night. Food was good and we had dinner in the movie and then desert in the dining room. Went back 2 weeks later and the service in the dining room was still really bad. Very disappointed in our server and the way the food came out. However the food was very good. Loved the Chicken Schnitzel and the Lot Burger as well as the Grilled Cheese appetizer and Tortilla Soup were all very excellent.
Not worth the price. Food was ok, nothing to write home about.
I ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Surprisingly, great taste! Food is what I would expect in a nice sit-down restaurant with an executive chef, not at all typical theater food. Place is very new so the service staff was a bit slow and disorganized. We waited more than 20 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. They gave us a discount though for the wait. The service staff was friendly and courteous.
We’re really excited about it! There were a few service glitches (to be expected with any new establishment) but they made up for them, big time. We’ll be back!
Wow, underwhelmed from the first moment we walked in. Mentioned that we had a reservation to the hostess and she asked for how many, seemed to have no idea how to look up our resy. We sat for what felt like 15 minutes before anyone approached us to take a drink order. The menu was extremely limited - which is understandable for a new restaurant within their first month of business - but that was just one more thing that made the experience so lackluster. I could go into further detail, but am unsure if it’s worth my time. Would be happy to talk to management if they wish for more feedback.
Service was slow but we weren’t in a hurry. We know The Lot just opened so we were giving them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone was friendly and food was good. Atmosphere is clean but very noisy. Not someplace I’d recommend for a romantic intimate dinner. Next time we’ll try it with a movie combo. We were just there for dinner.
Good food and beers. Just opened so the service is still developing. Nice patio -
The food took a very long time to come which is unacceptable especially for a business lunch. The server and management appeared oblivious until we complained . Not good - I know they are still new and working to fix kinks..but then I expect management to be extra attentive - which they were not.
The prices are outrageous. No matter how good the service & food, $19 for a burger is just TOO much.
After seeing a movie, we had dinner at THE LOT. I ordered a burger, my wife had a flatbread. If there's one thing a restaurant needs to get right, it's the burger. Mine was overcooked - I think you could have used it as a hockey puck. Service was extremely slow and the manager came by and asked how everything was (seeing that 3/4 of my burger was still on my plate). I delivered the bad news and he was nice enough to take it off the check. While I appreciate the gesture, I would have preferred eating dinner instead of going home hungry. On the upside, the theater was very nice, chairs comfy. The service in the theater was terrible (ordered a cocktail that never showed up), but when the check came, we were charged for the drink. So the last 15 mins of the movie was interrupted by the server having to void our charge and start over. Not the experience I was looking for.
Great service, drinks and food! Packed on the first week. Will quickly become a hot spot in the tri-valley.
