About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

Such a lovely pub / restaurant but what really stood out for me was the exceptional service, from behind the bar to table service. What a great team you have

Fab food, lovely ambience and right by the BT Tower! What more could you ask for! Duck fat popcorn, miso poached pollock was super, coconut and pickled apple rice pudding was to die for, all washed down with a chilled bottle of Orange wine (don't Knock it until you try it!)

We were really looking forward to experiencing the restaurant as a family but left really disappointed. We enjoy eating out as a family and are used to paying £250-£300 pounds for a meal but £460 including service (for a table or 5) was shocking. Definitely not worth it, I know it was a Tuesday but the restaurant was pretty empty (despite difficulty booking) and when we asked if they had burgers for the kids, we were pretty much dismissed. Unfortunately, other than the Lore Of Land lager (very nice) I would not recommend.

Great and very attentive service, made the whole experience super enjoyable. The food was also delicious and portion sizes were big, every table was boxing their leftovers including ours. The restaurant was very prepared for this. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely laid back atmosphere. The best steak I’ve eaten ever in a restaurant - we had a big sharing chataubriand, a sharing ribeye and a bavette. Excellent wine and great service Planning the next visit already…

Don’t expect anything special for Sunday roast, hugely disappointed as nothing like what you may see on social media such as TikTok. Small portions, dry meat, can get better in a country pub.

We waited a year for our booking and glad we went but most probably wouldn’t go back. The meats were tasty especially the lamb and pork belly. Disappointed there was no bone marrow as I was really looking forward to trying it. Also no oysters available but the scotch egg starter was delicious! Roast potatoes were gorgeous but disappointed with the other vegetables…only peas and carrots! No stuffing for the chicken either! The gravy was very thin, more like a jus…quite tasty but prefer a thicker gravy. Service was excellent and quirky surrounding! Like I said, glad I went but improvements could be made!

Small restaurant on first floor over busy pub. Noise from downstairs was well attenuated. Ambience of restaurant, with working kitchen on display, was entertaining. Food was good, with some interesting twists. Mushroom buckwheat risotto was great. The tempura fish entree was disappointing. A generous chunk of fish, but a lot of bone. Not a cheap ‘pub grub’ outing, but worth it is a treat, or to impress.
