Ireland's most iconic drawing room looks out on the only garden grand enough to match: the glorious St. Stephen's Green. The Lord Mayor's Lounge is the perfect back drop for a special day in Dublin. A room sparkling with light; it is a welcoming setting for our celebratory theatre of that most civilised ritual: the art of Afternoon Tea.
The elements have remained unchanged over the centuries: a fragrant pot of tea, a succession of sweets and delicate sandwiches, fine china, fresh flowers and delighted laughter. This time is all about enjoying the lovely things in life, an experience designed to be shared and savoured. Time slows down and the art of conversation is revived.

From December 1st, our wonderful Lounge will convert to a casual dining venue from 7.30pm daily, allowing our guests to experience an exquisite food offering in our iconic setting.

                      70th birthday gift, money well spent a really lovely, very civilised way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Food and service excellent. Ranks up there with the best Claridges and Ritz London have to offer.

                      We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea celebrating a special birthday. The room is elegant and comfortable, a really nice location for tea. The food was delicious, sandwiches, scones and cakes! Huge selection of tea and the coffee drinker was not left out! Service was a bit slow at times but the staff were very nice. I would recommend this venue for a special occasion.

                      Elegance is the word. Everything from the decor to the china to the service was simply beautiful. The tea and tiers of treats were delicious. Savored the whole afternoon.

                      I found our initial waitress to be very attentive and polite however the waitress we dealt with when paying was quite brusque and borderline rude. Not the type of service I’d expect in the Shelbourne.

                      The tea service was exceptional!!! We have been to several teas in other countries and big cities and this by far was the best!!!

                      What a beautiful afternoon. Attention to detail was on point. Food was enjoyable and very appealing to the eye. Selection of teas was very good. Champagne was the icing on the cake

                      This was such a lovely experience. We went to celebrate my mum's birthday. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. You could order more scones/sandwiches and all the tea you could want. Would highly recommend this experience :)

                      Beatrice was wonderful. We had a corner window table to celebrate our anniversary. They provided amazing alternatives for our allergies and sent us with take away as well as a sweet celebration treat.
