The London Street Brasserie
Had a delicious meal with friends that we haven’t seen for ages! Food was delicious!
It was our first Sunday lunch visit and the Berkshire beef was amazing! Can definitely recommend.
I visited the London Street Brasserie as an alternative to a busy West End venue.
I wasn't disappointed.. The food was great and good value. All 4 of us enjoyed the food.
Can be summed up in two letters: "OK". Not much ambience and very obviously a restaurant attached to a hotel as most patrons on the evening we visited were obviously staying in the hotel and were accompanied by their books, newspapers, laptops etc by way of "company". Bad beginning when we asked where we could hang out coats (late November) and told "on the back of your chairs". Shame a restaurants could not bang four nails into a wall in some corner, but there you are. Meal proceeded accordingly, service, food, wine OK, but we had had enough by the time the mains were finished and did not call back again for any of the other evenings of our stay in London.
lovely setting and good value for money
Wonderful experience in this restaurant for a Business Lunch - helpful attentive staff, we sat there all afternoon having our meeting and were not rushed / made to feel that we were in the way - lovely food and great service at reasonable prices - what more could you ask for
Beautiful meal, couldn’t fault it. Gave waitress and paid bill then realised we had paid a service charge also. It may have said on menu etc but we didn’t spot it.
Lovey good- great service. Will come again if in the area
We didn’t go here as made a mistake that I thought I was booking the other London St Brassierre in Reading .Great disappointment my party of 9 couldn’t get a table on the Friday night .So make sure you book the right one . I phoned the London based restaurant and apologised and receptionist said I wasn’t the first or the last to make this easy mistake !
Amazing food, incredible service, definitely will come again
I was originally charmed by the motif, as well as the celiac-friendly flexibility. I was seated quickly, and the gentleman who appeared to be the manager or shift lead assisted in placing my order appropriately.
Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. The appetizer was fair (chicken pate), but the drink I'd ordered was virtually all juice. It then took an additional 38 minutes in a restaurant which was no longer busy to provide me my meal, which came in the form of the toughest cut of rump I've ever received. I ate what I could (literally, what I could cut - there was a great deal of unrendered sinew and fat), and it took an additional 25 minutes to even get the attention for the check.
I'm hoping what I experienced was just a very, very improbable event - I came here on multiple recommendations, and had expected far more from a restaurant rated so well... I'm a frequent diner in multiple countries, and this ranks as one of the poorest experiences I've had.
We had a smashing time. Service was excellent. Food was super.
Overall this would have been a decent meal, but let down by poor service. We ordered our pre-meal drinks. Half of these came quickly and there was an apology that the rest would be delayed. After several minutes I enquired where these were and was told they would be arriving soon. I said that we did not want our meals until after we had all received our drinks. Despite this, the meals arrived before some of us had received our aperitifs. This was completely avoidable. We would have ordered other drinks to go with our meal, but after this we chose not to.
Convenient location as we stayed at the lovely Mercure London Hyde Park hotel. Ambiance lacking. Order taken and meal arrived at a very reasonable time. I had the grilled chicken with avacado burger which was unfortunately tasteless. It sounded so good on the menu! Very bland. The fries were good. I don't think I would choose to eat here again if other options available.
Une heure d'attente, un service ni souriant, ni attentionné pour une nourriture médiocre. Non recommandable.
Had dinner Christmas Day and they provided Christmas Crackers on every table which was charming!
Fabulous french food in authentic bistro style setting. Staff were absolutely first class
The starters and main courses were very good. The seating was comfortable with enough space on the tables. The service was particularly poor unfortunately. My wife ordered Champagne only for it to arrive flat. The waitress exchanged it but unfortunately the replacement was also flat. She then had to go to the bar and explain the problem to the barman who replaced it with champagne from a new bottle. Our starters took around 1 1/2 hours to arrive with no apology at all.
We ordered desserts (Yule logs and creme brûlée) but the Yule logs were very disappointing. The creme brûlée wasn’t hard on top and was essentially custard with sugar sprinkled on top.
As a group we all decided that we would probably give LSB a miss. It just was not worth the money and effort.
A great place to meet with friends. Food was yummy and service was friendly.
Pretty good place. Prices not bad for London. Service was good and polite.
