Obviously a beautiful setting and resort. Food and service were excellent but definitely pricey. If it's a special occasion or you're not concerned about the price, great place.

For a business luncheon in Laguna Beach you can't beat the Montage because it puts everyone in a great mood. The food is good and the service very attentive, as a dining experience it's almost idyllic

We made reservations at The Loft for brunch on New Year's Day. Had my mother visiting. She loves brunch, and so I wanted to take her to a nice place. The meal was very disappointing. Although we had reservations, it took about 10 minutes to be seated. We had requested a view table, but was seated at a high-traffic table with no clear view of the beach/water. The carpet and table was dirty. Of the four meals we ordered, three arrived prepared wrong. It took about 10 minutes before our waitress came to check on us. She had two of the meals remade, which took about ten more minutes. My coffee was refilled once, although I would have liked more. It was served with no sugar, so I had to ask for it. I ordered a specialty fruit juice, but they were out of it. It took another 10-15 minutes to receive the bill..the full price bill ($135.00)..and no apology. The manager did stop by the table to apologize, and did not proactively try to compensate us for the numerous errors. My daughter said she would have had a better breakfast at Starbucks. I would not recommend this restaurant, nor do I ever plan to go back. For such a high-end hotel (The Montage), the management should be embarrassed by the quality and service provided.

We have eaten at The Loft a number of times in the past, but in the last year there has been a drop in food quality from the last experience (and also, it seems, an increase in prices). Food was only OK. Two different orders of "over-easy" eggs came out very over-cooked. The Huevos Rancheros were seriously lacking flavor--and they had no ranchero sauce. The view, however, is spectacular and the service is always quite nice--but we will probably wait some time before we dine there again.

So I must say this has been then best experience for myself and my group. It was my best friend 30th Birthday, we were expecting a group of 12 and sadly we were left with a group of 5. You all were so gracious to redo the table for us! Our waiter was beyond AMAZING!! Brandon you are absolutely wonderful! You took care of us with not only grace, but with knowledge of the menu! You recommend a mock tail for my friend and you were on POINT with it! You were such a delight and we will be coming back again and again because of you Brandon! The setting, the atmosphere, the service, the location was all just perfect! Thank you all again!!!
