   Very impressed with The Lodge at Salhouse. Have been to other Colchester Inns and this one didn't disappoint. We were party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was really good

   Lovely staff, food portions excellent. Food options online do not fully match the menu at the table. On our visit there was slight confusion after taking our order for 6 meals and the wrong food was brought out. This meant one person was waiting for food while the other 5 ate to save their food also getting cold.

   Fantastic food and great service as always. A pleasure to eat here. Would recommend to anyone. Only 1 small gripe. Who doesn't love sticky toffee pudding? but the only option was vegan friendly. Sorry but it's just not as good and the normal version. Maybe offer a vegan friendly and a normal option?? Otherwise it's a great experience eating here. Thanks to all the staff and cooking team.

   Excellent service and quality products used. Very tasty and good value. Only slight down side was dogs barking and a smell of dog when you walk in the dining room. I understand you have to be dog friendly these days but if your dog barks at other dogs then maybe a dining room is not the best place to take it.
