Welcome to the Lodge at Salhouse, we are a family run pub occupying a charming 19th century vicarage. The pub has recently been renovated, including comfortable bedrooms set in seven acres of countryside garden.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by the picturesque Norfolk Broads, while Salhouse boasts numerous scenic walks for both guests and four-legged friends to enjoy.

The neighbouring village of Wroxham provides plentiful amenities including a department store, local shops and cafes, and is popular with holidaymakers wishing to hire boats - we would all agree that one of the best ways to experience the Broads is on the water!

Norfolk also boasts 90 miles of award-winning coastline, with lots of variety to explore. From sandy beaches and rugged cliffs to salt marshes, there really is a beach for everyone! Here at the Lodge our closest stretch of beach is only a half-hour drive away.

Had the Sunday roast . Ordered the beef but could not eat it as too rare for me . Potatoes tasted like being reheated . Husband had pork and said was tough . Disappointing as been looking forward to have a carvery here and yes have too book weeks before .

First visit to Salhouse lodge, this was for Father’s Day. It was expensive, but well worth the money the food was amazing and so delicious! Will definitely be coming back. They had a live band on in the garden area so once we finished food headed outside and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend this place , a must visit !

Having been once before and really enjoyed it, this visit was sadly disappointing. Service was very slow and food took a long time to arrive. Main course was poorly cooked - I had the burger which was under done (yes I know often served pink) but this was falling apart and chewy. My daughter’s steak was put in front of her and told to let them know if it’s too chewy and they’d bring another one which was very odd!! They brought another one out anyway without us asking for and tbh was worse than the first one which actually we wouldn’t have even complained about. It felt as though they had too many tables to cover and were unable to deliver the service level you would expect.

Our meal was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Beautifully cooked and presented food. Pan fried halibut and Lebanese lamb mixed grill. Delicious!! Relaxed atmosphere in the dining room so we could really enjoy the delicious meal. Main meal followed by chocolate torte and mango posset. Once again delicious. The only thing I think would improve the meal is the water should be chilled that is on the table. Especially during hot weather. Staff very efficient and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

Breakfast at The Lodge was okay. The place itself is lovely. We had good service - though the problem was no one asked - “how is your food?” We notified on the app that one of our party is gluten and lactose intolerant. They were told they couldn’t have the sausage and were served half a breakfast - no toast, no beans, no hash brown and one addition, two slices of avacado. We asked - why? They did remove that plate from the bill. What was meant to be a treat turned into faff. We won’t go back.

I could not recommend this place enough to anyone reading this review. Excellent food, wine and service. We stayed overnight and also recommend that you do too…lovely rooms and excellent breakfast at a really reasonable cost. I am already looking forward to the next time!

Warm welcome. Great service. Good tasty and very well presented. Large portions, left feeling full. After dinner we moved to the garden as it was a nice evening. Garden very pretty

Service was slow for a breakfast and a few things were missed from the order. The Hollandaise was not very good; too tangy. Shame really as we wanted it to be good so we could be frequent visitors as we live nearby.
