Great food!
Ok, here goes my post. We are from Nashville and are here on a business trip. Before we left I checked out reviews and menus of other restaurants. Then I came across the Lobster Trap. I saw the menu and it is everything I LOVE.
Once we arrived we were very nicely greeted. Our reservation wasn’t until 6pm and we arrived a bit early. They had a table available and happily seated us ahead of time.
Our server was David. He greeted us promptly and very welcoming. Helped us pick some good local beers to go with dinner. We started off with 1/2 dozen raw oyster and the grilled oysters with fresh parmigiana and butter. Fantastic!!! Next up we ordered the steamed clam and mussels in a white wine broth. Those clams were so delicious. The muscles were amazing also. Then we ordered our main meal. I ordered the grilled lobster. Y’all, I’ve been grilling my lobsters over camp fires and grills for years and if you don’t know what your doing they can become very dry. Well let me tell you THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! I was comfortably full at this point but I just knew if the desserts were as fantastic as the rest of the meal I had to try it. My all time favorite is bread pudding. I’m picky about my bread pudding. It was pure joy in my mouth!!
Bonus, while we were eating I had perfect view of the Chucking King Trevor! I was in awe of how fast he was shucking those oysters.
The price for our meal completely shocked us. We have eaten in a lot of very fine dining restaurants and have never received the flavor and quality of a meal like this at this price.
Way to go you guys. You truly deserve at 10 start rating! And please come open a Lobster Trap in Nashville!!
This place was recommended to us as a good place for a celebratory dinner. It’s more like a glorified bar.
Service was not great. Seafood was fine but pretty bland. Atmosphere was much more laid back than we expected.
Food was good, especially the seared scallops and lobster newberg. Our table unfortunately was set up on what is the music stage, and there was old equipment piled up around us plus a dead plant in a pot and random table with plate/condiment storage. Not the nicest immediate surroundings.
Food was excellent. Service was adequate. Our server was very personable.
Booked on open table and in preferences requested patio seating. On arrival was told they did not take reservations for patio seating. This needs to be conveyed before or during booking.
We had a reservation for 5 at 8:30. Didn't know they closed at 9, but everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Seafood no flavor, order a plate out of crab leg, order another plate out of scallops
Excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely go back and recommend others to visit
Overall, this is a good restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was good. My main complaint is I felt it was overpriced. Also, the restaurant was very noisy. Felt pretty crowded and cramped. But, the delicious food did outweigh the cons.
Outstanding experience from our server, food, atmosphere. We had a great time entertaining our family from Houston Texas.
Thank you!
Awesome lobster, cornbread and steak. Service was excellent.
A lot better than expected. Recommend the surf and turf with whole lobster and crab legs.
Great tasting food in an atmosphere that is comfortable and relaxed.
Fantastic food and great service!
Jessica was a phenomenal server!
Always a favorite, and Brandon is the best waiter EVER
Several people recommended we eat at The Lobster Trap when they heard we were going to Asheville. It didn’t disappoint! Food and service were great and still being Covid, they followed social distancing rules which made us feel very comfortable eating there.
In Asheville this restaurant is the #1 restauuant for Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab. Great food and service. Hope they continue with Bluegrass music entertainment in the future. Happy to know they take reservations now.
We thank you so much and really appreciate the compliment as it means a lot to us! We will pass this on to our staff.
Will not disappoint, food was fantastic and the best sangria ever!
The food was amazing!! Our service will be hard to beat. From the time we walked in the door until our waitress came to the table. Maggie was fantastic!!
Thank you so much! We'll pass on the kind words to Maggie.
The food was well prepared and delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. But the prices were not reasonable.
Our server was incredible! Her name was Jessi! Hard to find good service in this town sometimes but this was IT! She should be recognized. Food was superb. Best seafood in Asheville.
We thank you so much and glad you had a great time! We'll pass on the kind words to Jessi!
Food was very tasty and plenty to eat. Service was mark on and catered to our requests. Also very simple to use open table to make reservations...
Our server Katelyn was the bomb. Made the night. Had lobster roll and lobster Newburgh respectively and was good. Corn bread was amazing. Dessert was awesome
Good food, very good service. A good place to visit.
Came from Ohio for my 30th birthday. Had been recommended to the Lobster Trap by a blogger in the area. Being a food lover, I was possibly over excited for the meal and it didn’t not live up to the hype. The lobster had nearly no flavor, the crab was good and my steak was rather tough but had good flavor. The refrigerator in our hotel room was broken, so I didn’t get to finish it unfortunately. We spent over $200 and it felt more like a night at red lobster. Our server was sweet, but she had too many tables and didn’t come back to check on us until nearly finished. I loved the ambiance and being able to see the cooks make our food. Though we left disappointed, we still had fun and I feel like it has potential to be a home run at times, just wasn’t our night.
Kaitlyn was a great server! Great recommendations on food! Oysters were really good, lobster really good. Good service and great drinks!
The stuffed mushrooms were delicious, as were the crab cakes. David was our server and he was really great too.
My husband loves oysters so I found this place and made reservations for his birthday and it was amazing!! Well worth it!
Food was good, not great. VERY generous portions. server was knowledgeable and attentive. the staff all worked together, very nice experience.
Our steak was very cold, the food was good other than that. Service was great
Awesome all around
This food was outstanding. The best seafood we have had in a very long time. We went to celebrate my birthday, and the ambiance wasn't exactly what I was hoping for - but it was a fun place and the food and service were both excellent. I would highly recommend making a reservation!!
We ordered the lobster newburg and were dissapointed. Considering the prices we would have expected much nicer atmosphere and quality.
We liked it so muck we came back on the trip home also
We moved to Asheville last June, in the middle of the pandemic. We're just now starting to hit the restaurant scene, and The Lobster Trap was one of the local restaurants near the top of our list. Can't say enough good things about this place. The service was outstanding, the food was slap-you-silly good, and the drinks were delish. We started with the lobster stuffed mushrooms, moved to a caesar salad, and then had the seafood mix. They give you plenty to eat. Something else we appreciated was their attention to social distancing and masks. As a leukemia patient, proper precautions are very important to me, and we will only patronize businesses that consider the safety of their guests. Thanks for a wonderful evening. We will be back!
Everything we had was excellent! Service was excellent also !
It was an enjoyable evening with great food.
I was so delicious! Lobsters and colad water ousters. Strong recommended
The food was outstanding and the service from the wait staff and hostess were so incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend The Lobster Trap.
