Excellent food. Great handicap accommodations. Recommend to all ages! Fun fun fun!
Food was fantastic and service was amazing! Definitely will be coming back!!
The Litchfield Saltwater Grille was my husband's first pick for his birthday dinner - our first celebration meal dining inside a restaurant in over a year. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many familiar faces amongst the staff after so many months of pick up. The meal and ambience were even better than we remembered. Absence does make the heart grow fonder.
Great server, checked with us to see if we needed anything without over doing it or ignoring us.
Food was very good.
Great seafood and desserts!
My crab cake was flavorless and the crab on top was grey in color and did not look fresh.
The salad was good and
The service was very good.
Monthly wine dinner
We sat outside and it was chilly so they brought over 2 heaters! Good service and food!
Excellent food and a menu that will suit even those who do not love Sea Food
Our friends came to visit and we decided to dine at Saltwater Grille for the first time. Waitress was very good, food and drinks were excellent and we will be back
Wonderful food at a very reasonable price. The only reason that I gave a four for service is that drinks were a bit slow and the waiter mistakenly brought soy sauce instead of balsamic vinegar for salad.
Cajun scallops were over salty, seemed like they were cut in 1/2 as well, rice bland, veggies bland. Partners mango stir fry was mushy greens, mushrooms and carrots. Menu offers beets on salad for$3, my partner was denied this in his house salad. Used to be better years ago. Seems like they're offering to much and need to choose a path.
Went to dinner for Valentine’s Day with my husband. We were seated upstairs in what appear to be a concerted attic -dining space. It was very cold and didn’t appear to have heat up there. Took 40 minutes to get our appetizer. Steak was over cooked and had no flavor. Our waitress was amazing, I just wish the experience matched the great service we received.
We go here every year for Valentine’s Day and every year we ask ourselves why? At this point it’s a tradition that we don’t want to break. We get sat upstairs where there are no decorations literally it looks like a place to store tables and tons of cob webs and it’s like a finished attic but not in a cool way. This year the food was a little better. Drinks are sub par. The only thing really great is the Tower which is raw seafood it is worth dealing with everything else. It is a small place where you long to feel known or appreciated instead of just another table that needs to be turned over.
Everything we ordered was excellent
and the service was great 👍.
The meals ( appetizers, soup, salad) came out perfectly timed- never rushed.
This was our first time at Saltwater Grille. I made a reservation for a Valentine’s Day dinner. My boyfriend wanted surf and turf and I wanted seafood. We definitely got exactly what we were looking for and more. The food was delicious. Service was great. The ambiance was wonderful too. We had no idea of what to expect when we arrived. We left very pleased, pleasantly satisfied!
Area he sat was not very good upstairs cold no atmosphere
Great meal. Excellent service
We were seated immediately and our server seemed to know when we were ready for her right away.
Amazing food and service!
It is a nice place. The food was good, the service was good and the prices are reasonable. They have a Gluten Free menu too!
The wait staff was cheery and efficient.
The food was delicious. We had two meals that were the specials of the evening. Both seafood dishes. The oysters and shrimp cocktail to start were amazing. The scallop and shrimp dish was an excellent choice as well. But the best was the desert brownie.
We suggest a table by the fireplace with a glass of wine.
Excellent food, great service!
Ordered the Tuna. It was cut way too think and was plopped on a unappetizing soup of a sauce that was way too thick and congealed. I’ll stick to my favorites there, the Fish & Chips and the steak.
Came for date night with my husband and am already looking forward to coming back! My husband had the duck special and I had the grilled shrimp and lobster tail dinner, which were both great! Our waitress, Dana, was the sweetest!
The food here is consistently fresh, arranged with a flair and delicious! This was our second visit for a wine dinner and each item is unique, yet always pleasing to our varied tastes. Compliments to the owners, chef and staff for providing a wonderful experience!
We sat outside due to Covid which was fine - but there was zero decorations or ambience on the outdoor patio. Literally nothing. tables and chairs, that's it.
The food was good but not amazing. Our server was excellent.
Thank you for visiting, so glad you enjoyed the service. We have definitely cut back on all of our decorations as we have to disinfect everything every night, and more decorations means more disinfecting. And with it being such a tough time for small businesses as the governor requires us to be out of the building by 10 there just isn't time. We appreciate you coming out during Small Business Weekend. We hope you can visit again during more typical times.
Service was slow, and the food was just ok. Don’t think I would go back
I am so sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience. We are not used to receiving such low ratings, so I would love to learn what went wrong so we can gain some insight into your experience and learn how we missed the mark. I sincerely apologize that we did not meet your standards. Feel free to email me directly at litchfieldswg1@gmail Best, Brook
After a long day of hiking, the food was excellent. Many of us had the AHI Tuna which was minimally cooked as advertised with a nice pineapple topping, and the Halibut special was done just right. Crab cake appetizer had a nice sweet potato crust. The special cocktails were very tasty, particularly the spicy Margarita and the local blueberry vodka martini. The service was friendly and timely.
Hi Kevin, Thanks so much for your thorough and positive review! We appreciate you choosing Saltwater Grille and hope to see you again soon! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Great atmosphere- sat inside but outside looked really nice, served by owner who was very nice. Wait staff super nice, good food, nice date night out - would 100% go back
Thanks Court for the positive review. We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Saltwater and hope to see you again soon! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
We love going here, the food is wonderful, the staff is friendly. We usually do a couple appetizers and a salad with of course a cocktail or two. We can’t wait for their happy hour to return....
Thanks for being a return customer Bobby! We, too, can't wait for things to get a little more "back to normal." We appreciate your review and send wishes your way for a Happy Thanksgiving.
A Dinner during Covid has different standards. We ate indoors because it was quite chilly outside and we felt quite safe, except for our server, whose mask kept falling below her nose. She was definitely the low point of our evening. She had no charm, was inattentive and inefficient.
The food was quite good. We started with the tuna and it was lovely. Our entree was the salmon with spinach and Parmesan ( we both had the same thing) and it was well-prepared, though it was heavy for me.
All in all a decent evening, as it was a birthday, it did not rise to the occasion.
Very good food and excellent service in a cozy environment.
Thanks so much for visiting and your positive feedback! These are strange times for restaurants, so your support and feedback is encouraging to us all. We hope to see you again soon!
Just ok. Waitress disinterested in my food allergies. Pulling teeth to have her ask the kitchen if they had items
I could eat.
Hi there, I am sorry to hear your experience was less than what you expected. Can I ask what your allergies are? We have a full gluten free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian menu-- we definitely must be missing something, and would love any feedback to help us improve.
I’m sure it was Covid related but this was not a good experience. We were seated around 6:15 and didn’t get our dinners until 8pm. The dinners were cold, we had to send my sons’s Duck entree back because it was inedible. They offered to bring something else but we had waited so long for our dinners we just wanted to leave and stopped at McDonalds because he was starving. my swordfish special was tasteless and the baked potato and vegetables were cold. This was not inexpensive either!
Service was slow, but I can imagine that servers are just getting back up to speed with renewed COVID service...they also have a greater distance to cover with tables being spaced out.
The hawaiian plate was great, as were the oysters. The fried artichokes need some work. The artichoke interior was mushy and the outer batter did not have any flavor.
We did ask for inside seating on our reservation, and did not bring jackets. We were seated in the porch, which was okay. It was enrobed in plastic, but the doors had spaces on top where air was let in. They did have small heaters, so it was warm enough. But, I would have preferred indoors.
HI Nannette, I am so sorry to hear that you were seated in an area less than preferable to your liking. We are not used to people choosing indoors nowadays, so we typically people put on the enclosed porch or patio as that is what people ask for. Whenever you make a reservation, just put a note on where you would like to sit and we will accommodate (inside/outside/quiet/etc.) Or if you are ever unhappy with where you are seated, let us know and we will do our best to move you.
Great food and drink
Would recommend the crabcakes and stuff sole.
Enjoyed eating dinner outside next to a comfy gas heater. Oysters and a glass of French rose. Perfect.
