Traditional pub at the eastern border of the City of London. Very good atmosphere and value for money - a no-frills eating experience with ridiculously large-sized portions of chips!

Although we booked through the Open Table website, it wasn't open. We had to eat elsewhere. This should be a zero score.

It was a bit loud being filled with Christmas drinkers, but you can’t really blame a pub for that. Also, Christmas meant a shorter and rather standard-looking menu.....BUT the service was friendly and the food was simply excellent: not fancy, but just tasty and well presented. Frankly we were surprised - it was ‘standard’ pub food but just exceptionally well done for all that.
