Served with Parisian Mushroom Sauce
Prepared Tableside with Creamy Mushroom Demi
A Library Tradition Prepared Tableside
Close 2nd to Hall's Chophouse downtown Charleston... waiter was exceptional
The waiter was very attentive. The mints were great.
As always, the Library was excellent. Food and service worthy of any 5 star restuaranu
39th Wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was definitely not associated with the cost of the food, no ambiance at all. The food was awesome, but still seemed overpriced. The special are great but are communicated w/o costs. Even ordering water was a trick which resulted in a $10.00 charge. Again, the food was excellent, but not worth the price.
Fantastic food, with a creative menu. Enjoyed great cocktails. Great service from Bryan and we enjoyed talking with him. Highly recommend.
This was a special occasion, celebrating our 60th anniversary. The food and service was great and we enjoyed the special room all to ourselves. A big thank you to Bobby, our waiter. He did an excellent job explaining the features of the evening and offering suggestions.
Great first time experience at the library! Thought we would go with the traditional menu items but took a leap of faith and listened to our waiter regarding specials. We were delighted with the seafood trio appetizer, Caesar salad table side was the best I have ever had and the steak special was amazing.
First time at this restaurant, and it was an A+ fine dining experience. Upscale without being pretentious. Small intimate space, softly lit, walls actually lined with books, pleasant attentive staff, delicious food, great wine list. Would absolutely go again!
My husband and I treated ourselves to a wonderful dinner. Paul our waiter was wonderful He was attentive and explained all the specials with such vividness we ordered almost all of them. My filet was cooked to perfection and the salmon special was delicious.
This dining experience was incredible. My server Brian was kind, patient, and courteous. He also had a great sense of humor. Often times a single female dining alone gets ignored, it's just a fact... but I couldn't have had better service, attention from the manager that stopped by to see how everything was, and such a beautiful setting. I highly recommend the "she crab" soup. Yes I know it's on everyone's menu in SC, but this is truly special.. I'll leave that for you to discover. The lamb chops were spectacular, accompanied by carrots made with Gran Marnier... sublime. I went for the cherries jubilee definitely better to share with 2-3 other people. The wine list did not disappoint and had fabulous options from every price point. I enjoyed a delicious bordeaux. You must experience this gem. And be sure to go to 88 keys, the next door piano bar, so fun. Owned by same as the Library. Enjoy!
We enjoy the food & service. Our waiter was great.
Amazing food ! Wonderful European style ambiance.. Will definitely go back !
Our waiter Ryan was very outgoing and detailed. I gave instructions on what I wanted to do and the night was perfect thank you so much.
Above all else the service here was the best! Attentive, but also left us alone.
The food was really good as well. This place is worth the visit. It is small (only about 10 tables) so reservations recommended.
Definitely on my list of dinner places when I visit.
Might be one of the best overall experiences we ever had. From the food to the service this was A++
The Library is a wonderful restaurant with great food, superb service and a very relaxing ambiance. Shad has a well trained staff that automatically sees to your every need. A new delight was discovering the 88 Keys Piano Bar right next door is also owned and operated by Shad and the Library family. If you want world class food and service, this is the place to be.
The Library Restaurant is always an excellent dining experience. The food is always top notch, the atmosphere is always comfortable and the service is always superior. Waiter Bobby Hill really goes out t of his way to deliver superior service.
This was one of the most amazing dinners I have had, the entire experience was well worth the trip we made here. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know!!!
Great restaurant for special occasions, was my husbands 77 Birthday. Have frequented several times. Great!!
Very nice restaurant, told them we celebrating my husband's birthday and they put us in a private room. VERY CLASSY!
Food was good, not great. Two entrees had to go back because under cooked. Service good. Pricey but expected that. Probably not go back.
Food and service were excellent. I had the halibut special and vinaigrette salad. Both were very good. Our server was great. Looking forward to our next visit.
Everything about our dining experience was excellent from start to finish. My wife had the table side Caesar salad and I enjoyed a serving of sweet cracked crab. Our main courses were excellent with steak poivre served table-side and a large portion of halibut cooked to perfection. We finished our meal with cherries jubilees also served table-side. Our waiter, Bobby Hill was excellent providing friendly banter while serving us. Bobby has been a waiter here for seven years and in definitely showed. Looking forward to dining here again on our next visit to Myrtle Beach. I don’t think you will find more exquisite dining in the area. A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for, as the old adage goes.
Out standing the best since we moved to Murrells Inlet. We will definitely return.
It is is a very expensive restaurant for the waiter to forget my drink and never bring it to me, to not get any refill on my water, and to have a $50 steak cooked at the table. The service was poor, the food was okay. The restaurant is very small and to have our waiter cook the steak was odd! They said the salad was for 2 but brought it out on one plate set it in front of me then my husband had to scrape his portion off of my plate.
Excellent food and service. Definitely a treat for that special person in your life!
Very up scale restaurant, the food is top notch and the service is 2nd to none in the area. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or just really want an upscale dinner this is your place.
Awesome service. Awesome food. Clearly they have a chef that knows a how to balance flavors and cook seafood to perfection. I had the halibut, and it was awesome. Too often it’s overcooked, at times undercooked when the chef is new or intimidated. My dish was absolutely perfect. Halibut is unforgiving, seconds matter. This was perfection at its highest.
A great experience! It was a romantic birthday celebration and the hospitality and food top notch
Extremely expensive. Never order the specials. They are 3 times the price of things on the menu. With 2 drinks it came to $406.00. That is without dessert.
Good food but its a small intimate setting and there were a couple of large parties which made it difficult to hear.
Bob’s service was OUTSTANDING his service is what made the experience exceptional! The food was AMAZING as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone
Absolutely outstanding! Definitely don’t get too attached to the menu until your hear the specials. We chose both a baked feta and mushroom cape for the appetizers and they were incredible. The aroma hit as Mr Fisher, our waiter, entered the room. Side bar-request the secret room for unique experience. The appetizers we chose are best for one person each.
The salads are large, very fresh, and the house dressings were amazing. There was table side preparation for the Caesar.
We tried a mango and traditional mojito for our drinks and they were outstanding. Fresh lime juice, mint muddled perfectly, and a good size.
For dinner we chose a filet special and a table prepared filet au poivre. Again, Mr Fisher delivered. He cooked my wife’s filet a perfect medium. My filet was a perfect medium rare. While mine was prepped in the kitchen and hers table side, they were ready at the same time. Outstanding timing here.
Be sure to save room for dessert. We had to take outs to go as we were completely full. Even the to go presentation was impressive.
Mr Fisher, our waiter, was absolutely as impressive as the meal itself. He knew the food history, stayed on top of our needs (without being intrusive) and generally was a pleasure to speak too. It was clear that he not only enjoyed his job but also enjoyed the food and understood the importance of experience. Thank you so much!
Food was amazing, waitstaff knowledgeable and attentive, would definitely go here again.
Not going back
Anniversary. Food was perfect. Brian our waiter was fantastic!
The entire meal at The Library was heavenly. I don't know what they did to my salmon but it was the most delicious piece of fish I have ever eaten. My husband's duck was cooked perfectly - moist and flavorful. Our server - Ryan Fischer was friendly, helpful and superb. I cannot rave enough about our experience at this wonderful restaurant. A true gem in Myrtle Beach.
Great dinner, seafood trio appetizer was excellent as well as the filet special
Ryan was very attentive and helpful with suggested menu items. Great food and great presentation. Highly recommend the table side Caesar salad an Cherries Jubilee.
