Wonderful food, ambiance, atmosphere, drinks- mojito, margarita, martini all great. Lamb and escargot outstanding, and banana flambé out of this world!
The food was overall good for our expectations of a restaurant such as The Library. We were looking for a place to go that required more than shorts and flip flops for our last dinner while on vacation and this restaurant provided for such an atmosphere.
Nice upscale place. Small dining area. You need reservations. Food was outstanding and service was excellent.
An absolutely fabulous meal.
Great food. Good wine list. A bit pricey.
Josh is an Amazing waiter, and made the experience that much better. Food was some of the best I have had. Great Redemption Ole Fashion and largest Lump Crab meat ever!!
Old school in a very good way. Steak Diane is to die for - unlike anything you’ve tasted anywhere. Caesar salad is excellent as always. Rack of lamb is amazing. Wine selection is awesome. We’ve been dining here for over 15 years. They’ve still got it!
Honestly wasn’t what we were expecting from other reviewers on open table. Our server was what you call a “used car salesman” and tried to up sell anything he could. Even when my kids wanted sprite he quickly requested strawberry dacquries instead. When ordering our dinner he made the comment: there’s 6 of you and so far 4 of you are having chicken...very rudely and once we ordered chicken and not a higher priced item, the service quickly disappeared. I do appreciate the napkin folding when leaving the table and the prebussing but not a family restaurant for sure. It’s more for first year daters or husbands who are in the dog house. Totally one and done.
Was disappointed in the food. My husband and I went her on our first date 26 years ago, then got engaged here, and dined here for our 5th Anniversary. Wanted to try the new location and was disappointed. I don’t we will return unfortunately.
Good food, an entree averages about $45, water costs $5, (just get tap water). This is one of the many restaurants that are promoting the idea that tipping to pay for the restaurant's employees should be 18 percent or even 25 percent. The bill will have a suggested gratuity, but it is only for stupid people who don't know that you don't tip on the sales tax. If you tip, it has always been 15 percent and you tip on the cost of the food, not the food and sales tax.
What a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and service was perfect. Such a cute place. Highly recommend to foodies or anyone who loves an excellent meal.
Great place to celebrate a momentous occasion.
The most amazing meal and service in myrtle beach hands down!! Phenomenal service! Table side Ceasar salads and desserts
Great service, great food, great date night. Worth the price for a special occasion.
The Library is an average restaurant, however the service was very good. Certain portions of the meal were good (salad, shrimp, sauces), however the side dishes were below average. The entree fettuccine was sticky and the filet average. Entree's and drinks are very over-priced.
The service was the best I've ever experienced. The food was amazing! Great wine and a wonderful time. I will definitely return and would highly recommend this restaurant!
Absolutely loved this place! Neat space, friendly service and delicious food! The filet au poivre was amazing!
Everything very good!
From the moment we were seated we were graced with a professional server which blew us away.
we were familiar with The Library over the years for special occasions nut this special young man went beyond with explanations, allowing us time to enjoy each course and explaining a few items i was not familiar with.
the lamb chops were heavenly and my husband's halibut special was beyond what he expected.
i will definitely recommend this server snd restaurant
Very good dining experience and great bar!
The experience was very nice. Service was great. Bartenders were fun and attentive. Best part was the cold crab, shrimp and lobster appetizer. Unbelievably good! The salmon was delicious, according to my husband. I ordered shrimp scampi but I only ate a few bites. I just didn't care for the tomato-y sauce - probably I didn't pay close enough attention to the waiter's description. I expected the usual butter, garlic, wine sauce. He offered a different entree, but I just took the scampi home, and offered it for lunch next day. My husband liked it (he likes everything!). We will go again when our wallets are refilled.
One of the best meals we've had in a long time. I used to go to The Library with my parents back in the 70's and wanted to try it again for nostalgic reasons. The Library is no longer in downtown Myrtle Beach but the new location is not too far away. Our waiter was Joshua and he was a doll. He timed everything perfectly and gave us great suggestions on all of our courses. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.
This restaurant was nice and set a mood. However, make sure that you are dressed for the occasion as casual shorts and flip-flops are looked down upon.
As in the past the food was exceptional. And the service was mostly top notch. However, having noted on Open Table and to our waiter that our 2 guest were celebrating their birthdays, which are 2 days apart, there was nothing mentioned or offered for the occasion. Also, our young waiter forgot 2 items of our guest's orders: the lady's salad and the gentleman's lobster tail add on. His apologies were profuse, but there was no offer of recompense. Perhaps being at a new location has lead to some new trainee situations. we will certainly try The Library again in hopes that the overall service catches up with the excellent food.
Our family came in from Philadelphia to celebrate all of our birthdays. We wanted a special place to have dinner and thought the library sounded interesting. We all absolutely loved it. Great service. Great food. Amazing desserts. We would definitely go back again!
The library has real food made from scratch with the finest quality ingredients you can find. Colorado lamb which is so much better in flavor and tender large eyes and not a strong gamey taste like New Zealand lamb that is the exact opposite that most restaurants use and charge you the same price for a product that is highly inferior.
Wonderful experience, all the way around. Fantastic food, fantastic service, and very pleasing atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.
Great service and recommendations from Trey. Made our first experience at The Library a great one. I have my co-worker to thank for the suggestion. We will be back!
The filet melted in your mouth and was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife
This restaurant is a classic! The food is amazing. The filets are so tender you literally cut them with a butter knife. Josh, our server, was attentive. The new location is great. They kept a lot of the same charm of the old restaurant. This is a must do if you're eating in Myrtle Beach and want a high end meal!
The service was top notch, and the food was excellent! Great for a date night.
Consistently excellent French food. Entrees come with a small nondescript potato and delicious carrots. Escargot could use a little more garlic, melted feta cheese appetizer excellent for sharing. Cesar salad made at the table great. Entrees Duck with cherry sauce, flirt, fish special all great. Side of mushrooms was fine. Not necessary. Cherries jubilee wonderful. A couple of parts of the order got messed up. Room is a bit cavernous. Not cheap, but worth the dining experience overall. Wish it were closer to Pawleys!
Loved The Library. Not your typical beach eats, very elegant with classic dishes prepared tableside, such as steak Diane and cherries jubilee. Excellent service and quiet ambience. Perfect for a romantic evening out.
We had excellent service and the food was amazing! The experience of watching waiters prepare our food table side was great. The bananas foster, Caesar salad and steak au poivre were fantastic. We will definitely return!
Little pricey for foo-foo food. Don’t have any rich friends , so can not recommend.
My steak was good, but my wife said her chicken was tasteless, and the creamed
Spinach was strange.
We have been visiting Myrtle Beach for a week. This was our last time dining out before returning home. This was by far the best meal we had in the area. We will return when we are visiting in the future.
Amazing food, amazing staff. Joshua was a delight to dine with
A great experience. Their food was delicious, and their service was professional. It made me feel like I was in France.
