Since 2006, The LakeHouse restaurant has been the jewel of Bay Shore, NY. In the summer of 2016, owners Eileen & Matthew Connors and Jay Gut moved locations to a brand new dockside treasure. With stunning views and multiple fireplaces, comfortable seating for 100+ guests, two lounge areas, deck overlooking the Great South Bay, and both an indoor tavern room and a waterfront bar, The Lakehouse is touted by many as “one of the best restaurants on Long Island.” At night, the deck is illuminated, as is the waterfront lounge area where guests can congregate for after-dinner cocktails. This New American fine dining experience is not to be missed. The Lakehouse can now be reached by boat as well, as guest dockage is available at the new gorgeous bayside locale.

    My boyfriend and I came to the lake house this evening for his graduation dinner as we are locals to the area and just wanted to go somewhere quick and nice. I have been to this restaurant a few times when I was younger but we were not impressed in the slightest tonight. Our server was very cold and bland. The appetizers were fairly good we got the oysters which were fresh and the seafood salad which was also very good. For entrees I got the cod and my boyfriend got the cavatelli shrimp pasta. Both of us just ate the food to not waste it lol. Mine did not mesh well what so ever, the aioli on top tasted like it was meant for french fries and the sauce was not good. My boyfriend’s pasta was very chewy the sauce tasted like straight up earth and grass and the shrimp were very tough. Overall we were not satisfied with this establishment and would have much rather spent our money in the city at restaurants equivalent to this with a much better ambiance and food selection. Overall 2/10 would not be coming back.

    The restaurant is a beautiful place surrounded by water unfortunately, the night we went it was very foggy, but that did not affect our experience. The service was wonderful. The food was wonderful. The only thing that I can say that’s a little bit negative was that I was cold in the restaurant, but other than that, perfection.
