Contemporary American
Since 2006, The LakeHouse restaurant has been the jewel of Bay Shore, NY. This past summer, owners Eileen & Matthew Connors and Jay Gut have upgraded from a cozy yet elegant charmer to a brand new dockside treasure. With stunning views, comfortable seating for 100+ guests, two lounge areas, and deck overlooking the Great South Bay, and a garden fire pit, The Lakehouse is touted by many as “one of the best restaurants on Long Island.” At night, the deck is illuminated, as is the waterfront lounge area where guests can congregate for after-dinner cocktails. This New American fine dining experience is not to be missed. The Lakehouse can now be reached by boat as well, as guest dockage is available at the new gorgeous bayside locale.

Just another waterfront restaurant that is less than mediocre! So so salad, rare salmon and a dopey waiter.

Could have been more on top of service, missed the sale of a couple additional drinks. Food was delicious, short rib pasta app used to be more creamy, tomato a little under done but good flavor. Obligatory salad was refreshing and sinful. My lovely wife had the strip steak, and immediately fell in love with the Mac and cheese, really, she’s still talking about it. I enjoyed the pork chops, great marinade and perfectly cooked, nicely executed. Yam Jenga tower was meh, cranberries were nice compliment, cabbage relish was tasty but pushy.

We got the donuts to go , 3 of 4 made it out of restaurant. Still delicious but definitely not life changing, glad you came that conclusion as well.

My overall is it was an amazing night with my wife and it was a special moment in time, thank you!

See you soon.

We went for restaurant week. Once the servers realized who’s table it was after us having to ask for a server, everything was great. Food was amazing, we did the pre fix menu but ordered the clam chowder as well. We had a nice bottle of wine. We highly enjoyed all the food and the restaurant is beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

I booked this restaurant during restaurant week because I wanted to try it. I have a reservation for 9 pm. While at our table we asked for the special menu for this week and the waiter told us that menu was only available until 7pm. No where on that menu did it state that it was only available until 7pm. Next time it should be stated on the menu if their is a specific time the menu is available. Needless to say we didn't eat at the Lakehouse.

We took advantage of the Restaurant Week special and boy did we enjoy. The restaurant has a modern nautical vibe with great views. The portions for the appetizers and dinner as well as the dessert was moderate and the prices paired well with that. The clam chowder was flavorful and packed with clams. The mushroom risotto was creamy and delicious. Our entrees, the salmon and roasted chicken were magnificent. Topping this meal off with the banana bread pudding and cheese cake made this whole meal complete. We enjoyed a bottle of red wine and our server was attentive. Overall an amazing experience.

Thankfull it was Restaurant Week, would never pay those prices if not. Food was OK, service not good and it was only 5:30pm. Never got bread, wasn't asked about coffee with dessert, given the wrong bill--
Wish it was the original Flynn's from years ago---

First time to Lake House since they moved to this location. Prior location was romantic and comfortable. Although food quality was amazing, this location is much more sterile - almost reminds me of a Catering Hall dining room.

Server (Gustavo) was professional but unattentive. Had to get his attention several times for assistance. Dining room was busy but not unmanageable.

Would return for the food - especially in warm weather with the water right outside the restaurant but my expectations of the place will be very different.

Had been wanting to go to The Lake House for awhile...finally got there during LI restaurant week. The restaurant is very pretty and the view can’t be beat. I. Thought my chicken breast special was delicious . I felt the mushroom risotto...should have been labeled pea with some mushroom risotto...the peas overwhelmed the risotto...and not sure that I recall the description as saying it even had peas...so that was a bit disappointing for me....others in my party enjoyed it. My husband had the pork chop, loved it. dessert was perfect. I would definitely go back.

Our first time at this location. Pleasantly surprised that the larger venue was not overwhelming. We sat in the room with the fireplace, enjoyed the open, airy feel of the beautifully decorated surroundings. This was brunch on a Sunday afternoon, so we didn't experience the dinner crowd. However, the food was delicious and not overpriced. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to our friends.

I'm never disappointed when I dine here. The entire meal, from appetizers to dessert, was exceptional as always. Our Waiter, Walter, was professional and friendly. I had the most devine scallop entree that absolutely melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a gourmet dining experience.

Came here for sweetest day. Food was amazing from start to finish. Our table had originally been the table next to the door, host and server entrance. We requested another and were quickly moved. Appetizers we ate were tuna tartare, cocktail shrimp, and grilled octopus salad. We ended up getting the cod and the duck for main course, snickers bar for dessert (we wanted to order another one!)
Service was unfortunately on the slow side. It took over 15 minutes for someone to greet us at the table that was after we had to request it from someone. She was not even our server but said he was tied up so she was stepping in. It was kind of that way the whole night, we aren’t really sure if we had the same person twice come to help us.
It would have been a problem any other night but we were having great conversations and kept ourselves entertained. We will definitely be coming back for the food, just expected a little more attention for the price.
***also you can bring your own wine (which we did) 3 bottle limit $25 corkage fee per bottle.

The food was very good. If you make reservations ask for a water view table otherwise you will be placed in an area with no ambiance.
The menu is limited, so check prior if you would like anything. There was also no Vega tables listed on the menu. It seems you need to ask for them through the server. Maybe not a regular thing so they are limiting it.
