   We were married at this location 25 years ago, and hadn’t been back. We were so excited to see the changes! It’s a beautiful location overlooking the lake with the mountains in the background. We were seated next to the fire on a snowy afternoon. The ambience was delightful. The staff was friendly and attentive. They took a picture of us in front of the fireplace where we had our wedding photo taken. It was charming. Now on to the food. We started with the scones, which I was worried would fill me up. They did, but they were so good I couldn’t stop. It didn’t matter because my entree was so delicious I ate that too. I had a steak with fingerling potatoes, and my husband had the bison meatloaf. Both were outstanding. We had no room for dessert. An excuse to come back.

   Customer Service was prompt and courteous. Menu recommendations were well explained and accurate. The menu was exquisite and interesting. Our dinner was delivered in a timely manner. The dinner items were well presented and as described. The food was very good and the flavors were remarkably good. This place is a hidden jen and should be tried often.

   This was our first time dining at The Lakehouse. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The ambiance and view were lovely. We agreed that the cocktails we ordered from the upstairs bar were very good! Our appetizers were original. The consensus from the group re: entrees - (salmon, hamburger, steak, pork chop and meatloaf) the portions were ample and the dishes and presentation were good but the entrees themselves were not outstanding or particularly unique. All in all, it was a good experience. I look forward to summer dining on the deck!

   Unfortunately, we went to the Lakehouse on a night when they were very short staffed. It took forever to get our meal and it was just OK. The Wagyu steak was nothing special and the apple salad was very bland. The salad did not come out with any cheese on it and so we had to request the waiter to add cheese to it. We ate at the Lakehouse last year and had a fantastic experience, and have told multiple people about it. I’m not sure that we will go back.

   Great restaurant on Deer Creek, cozy, comfortable ambience, with great water views. Small menu but great choices, a little something for any palate using local ingredients when possible. Three of us dining tonight, started with the potato leek soup, then for entrees we chose the wild mushroom gnocchi with mixed vegetables, the bison meatloaf, and the pork chop. All meals cooked just right, very tasty, filling. Sadly, we didn’t save room for the nice dessert selection. Server was very good, knew menu well, and helped with our entree selections, attentive without hovering. Our first time at the Lakehouse. Definitely will be back.

   The food was excellent. I had the meatloaf and seemed to find a new delicious flavor with every bite. I will take the family back when it’s light outside to enjoy the views.

    I hate giving bad reviews because I hate sounding entitled but we did not have a great experience here. We both ordered the Denver steak one medium rare side salad and mashed potatoes, one medium with veggies and mashed potatoes. Everything was cold. And our steaks came out way more rare than ordered, chewy was an understatement. The fancy steak knife they gave us couldn’t even cut through it. Our reservation started having an hour 15 to an hour 30 do we were surprised when the heat got turned off halfway through dinner and cold air started flowing through the vent nest to our table. Not worth the $200+ we spent there other than the cocktails and the view

    The food wasn’t good. Has been much better in the past. We were sitting by lively fireplace but it wasn’t on and it was cold. Disappointing to spend too much for bad food.

    It’s a lovely place and a perfect setting. The service was great and our server was very attentive. The food we ordered was a little disappointing and it could be what we ordered. We’ll try it again in the summer and sit on the patio. It has a beautiful view.

    Loved the restaurant setting. My only problem is they didn’t have appetizers that would suit vegans, vegetarians. Most everything on the menu was meat. I got the cauliflower steak which was delicious and the vegetables. I would have loved to see a nice salad under the appetizers instead I got it on my main course plate with everything else. Very overwhelming with so much on my plate that it disrupted the presentation of the food. The cold Caesar salad was beside hot vegetables so that wilted the lettuce.

    Our second visit to The Lakehouse at Deer Creek was just as tasty and memorable as the first. I love that this restaurant specializes in meats that aren’t found on most menus. My rabbit gnocchi was delicious as was my husband’s bison meatloaf. Saving room for dessert is a must. The prickly pear pie did not disappoint. I think the prices are appropriate for the types of meats served. The menu also noted that there’s a 9% surcharge since the restaurant is located at a state park. I’m glad to support our state parks in such a delicious way. There is a kid’s menu, but I think it’s more of a date night, or special occasion restaurant. However, if the sitter cancels, there’s a handy backup option available. Children definitely won’t feel unwelcome. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely return.

    New find and worth the drive. We got to experience local specialties. It's a short drive from the resorts. Don't miss the turnoff. You'll be happy you didn't. My daughter is vegetarian and was happy. My husband tried the provision pie with boar for the first time. I had a generous filet. Good service, good food, good choice

    I was frankly a little disappointed given the outstanding reviews it got. It was worth a try but I wouldn’t go back. I thought it was overpriced for what we ordered. Additionally, it was our anniversary and even though they were made aware of that it would have been a nice touch on their part to acknowledge that in some way.

    The winter dining experience was delicious and wonderfully thought out. Each dish came with a historical setting that added meaning to each bite. The food was incredible and the service and experience was top rate. We had an excellent time and can’t wait to go back!

    The food and drinks were on par for fine dining and they offered a very unique entrée selection with a variety of veggies and proteins. The service was great and knowledgeable and the ambiance was fantastic for a casual, cold, winter evening out! We will be visiting again to try other menu option!

    Went there for Thanksgiving….what a wonderful experience! I’m a travel nurse so I was unable to spend the day with family. I was welcomed and felt right at home! The duck was wonderful with all the side dishes. The squash pie blew my mind…..I wanted more! I will always cherish Utah…the people are wonderful!!! Thank you

    The ambience was great, as well as the staff. The food felt like very poor quality and was very overpriced. I ordered the wagyu filet and it was the toughest piece of meat I’ve ever eaten. I wish I would’ve said something.

    Perhaps one of the best spots in the Heber valley, but not without some shortcomings. Ambiance is nice if lucky enough to sit by the fire, but center room tables would seem cold. Menu is eclectic and interesting but steak was disappointing. Seems like a flatiron was subbed for filet. Swordfish was outstanding though ~ Wine list is out of sight pricewise. Must be catering to the PJ crowd from nearby Heber Valley airport. IMHO, a place like this should have a baseline of affordable wines, not junk but $50 - $80 bottles that are more in line with overall impression of the restaurant. 3-4x markup is a turnoff. Regardless, we will return!

    Hidden Gem My wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel and she is a foodie. This was our first visit to Utah and our first meal after landing. Top 5 meal ever. Ever. Ever. Food is original and out of this world. The staff is amazing, genuine and extremely knowledgeable. Ambiance is great, and they have a wonderful wine list. When you go, you have to try the Dinner Pies. Can’t write enough good things about this place and the folks that run it.
