The Jackdaw, Conwy

Jackdaw or Jac-do in Welsh, is the nickname given to a person born within the castle walls of Conwy town.
The name is taken from the bird which can be found nesting in the walls of the town and castle.

Within the walls of Conwy Castle lies The Jackdaw, a restaurant by Nick Rudge.
Providing a unique Welsh Tasting Menu on Tuesday to Saturday evenings and 'The Nest', a reduced 4 course lunch Tasting Menu on Friday and Saturdays.

    The Nest is a 4 course lunch menu priced at £35 per person in The Jackdaw, Conwy. We would love to welcome you on Friday and Saturday lunches between 12pm and 3pm. With delicious food and lots of wonderful wines by the glass, our menu changes very regularly, similarly to The Jackdaw's ethos the menu will change with the seasons around us!     Umami heaven or hell in our case, each dish blended into one, the canapés/snacks were tasty and the rye porridge also, however it went downhill after that. This morning I still have the strong taste of umami in my mouth, something Colgate couldn’t get rid of. Service was too perfunctory but the very young waiter was excellent, there were only 4 tables booked, whether this added to the lack of ambience or not(room was freezing also) I will never find out as we will not be returning. We eat out at many excellent restaurants in the U.K. and worldwide this is not one of them, far too pretentious for what it delivers

    Fantastic meal, great service and loved the story's that came with some of the courses. Thanks to all the staff and chef's for a great night. Would fully recommend.

    Beautiful hidden restaurant on Conwy High Street serving amazing locally produced food. We had the Spring tasting menu for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

    Excellent experience at Jackdaw! The restaurant is small and intimate and the staff are friendly and attentive. The tasting menu was fabulous and stand out course were the bread and the brown butter cod. Deserves a star ⭐️

    Fantastic tasting menu. We love tasting menus and this is definitely one of our favourites. Yet again a really good balance of dishes that went together so well. Great service as usual and a lovely friendly atmosphere,

    Lovely evening. Great service. Amazing food. Loved the dedication to Welsh-sourced produce and the interpretations of Welsh food culture. Cannot wait for my next visit!
