The Ivy Soho Brasserie
Decorated with artworks inspired by Soho’s music scene, as well as William Blake (Broadwick’s most famous resident), the space is made up of a restaurant, bar, private dining room and terrace with Parisian-style seating. Open seven days a week, the modern British menu will be available from dawn till dusk for local workers, residents, shoppers and visitors to enjoy. Being located in Soho, the brasserie will have a DJ spinning music every Friday and Saturday from 7pm and on weekends during brunch until close.
The Ivy Soho Brasserie’s look and feel has been created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and notable features include an onyx bar, bronze pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet and a mixture of burnt orange leather and velvet banquettes and bar stools.
Really poor ‘brunch’ options for someone who doesn’t eat meat or dairy, there was a vegan/veggie menu but it was mainly curry and heavy meal dishes you wouldn’t associate with brunch! Service wasn’t very well communicated, lots of repeating things to staff who didn’t seem to know what was on the menu. Something happened with the toilets, which you only found out were out of use once you’d walk in and found members of staff scrambling around cupboards!
Really nice venue. Service was bad and the waiter a little rude
Went on a Saturday night with another couple. Food was wonderful.
Service was lacking though. Had to constantly flag people down when we were ready. And when we ordered cocktails around dessert time, we waited 25 minutes and they were never delivered or ordered.
The atmosphere is very cool- they have an in-house DJ spinning live music which was cool. But because of that, it was on the loud side.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and arranged two extra seats for my daughter and friend who arrived later and joined us for drinks. They were terrific and the waitress was superb. The food was splendid
Have always enjoyed going to these restaurants. Can’t wait to go back
We went for afternoon tea. Overall the food was good but out of 4 scones served to us, 2 were not fresh (rock solid) so we asked to have them swapped. We got 3 new ones and only one was fresh... What a shame as the rest of the afternoon tea selection was quite tasty and that would have been a good value for money.
Service was average with alcohol and cake being mistakenly spill on us by 2 different waiters!
I appreciate we all do mistakes and bad batches happen in the kitchen but would have appreciated they gave us a discount on the bill or something as it was just a bit too much!
The service and food was excellent and it was nice that we were allowed to remain at our table for longer than 2 hrs. The staff remembered it was my birthday and brought out an extra desert for me which made me feel extra special. This was greatly appreciated.
Generally we were very pleased with our dining experience, however I will say that the music was far too loud and certainly we felt a DJ and the style of music he was playing was not fitting in the least.
The volume and type of music made you feel on edge when a more gentle background music would have been more appropriate and better for general ambience.
A very disappointing experience. There were 6 of us and firstly the drinks took ages to come and all came at different times. We were then rushed by the waitress to order our food as soon as we had the drinks. The food was nice tasting but extremely small portions for the price. I had the prawn and monkfish curry which had two prawns in it. The main complaint however is that we were overcharged by £80. There were other drinks put on to our bill and when we luckily noticed this the waitress was unapologetic telling us 'it was not her fault'! The service was condescending at best and rude at worst. Its a shame as the restaurant itself has a great buzzy vibe and is in a good location. With the competition in Soho I don't think that this restaurant can live off the fact that it is the Ivy group. I have been to many of the Ivy group restaurants before as we eat out a lot in central London, but I will not be going back after this experience.
We visited on a Fri night for dinner. Great buzzy atmosphere but far louder than other restaurants in this chain. We struggled to make conversation over the House DJ. Cocktails were fab especially the Ivy gin special. Food was good but not great. One of our party returned undercooked fish. Service was slow and slapdash. Waitresses seemed disinterested / borderline rude. One spilled a glass of water into my friend’s lap & barely apologised. Still we had an enjoyable evening! Good for a lively meet up with friends but not on a par with the regional branches eg Cambridge and Guildford. Staff need to get happy and get snappy!
The food and service were good if a little overpriced. The evening was ruined by having a very loud DJ. The music was too loud to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. It was completely the wrong environment to have loud repetitive music, if I wanted to listen to music I would go to wine bar or club, not a brasserie where I was expecting to have good food an conversation. We did ask the staff twice if the music could be turned down, but nothing happened.
The evening and atmosphere was great but it was ruined by the waitresses who served us kept rushing our food we had a 2 hour turn around and it was questioned. I had to get my phone out and show my email confirmation with small print showing we had a 2 hour turn around. Then another person who could have been a manager came over at 8.15 to tell us we had 15 minutes left. So not good service. The food, vibe and music were fantastic but the dining experience was ruined.
Perfect! We had a delicious meal and wonderful service. Would highly recommend and definitely coming back!
As always perfect, great staff, lovey food and amazing setting. Very buzzy!
The service was poor; had to ask to order, to clear our plates, ask for dessert menu and the bill at least twice. Our waiter consistently prioritised the male-heavy tables. Food was very nice, the experience ruined it.
Good vibe. Nice service and food was good! Had the black cod which was well seasoned and yummy. Espresso martinis for after!
After waiting 50 minutes to be seated, for our 8pm booking we eventually got shown our table (after requesting an update on three occassions). Starters came in a reasonable time but then an hour after starters our mains had still yet to arrive. After having asked for our food on many occasions we eventually decided to leave without the food. Upon bringing the bill the food suddenly arrived and the manager agreed to remove all of the food off the bill which at least showed some level of customer service. That said, I still won't be a returning customer. There are a number of restaurants in that area with offer a better service and food.
As ever, a lively place with a great bar and excellent food. The service is always excellent, friendly and professional.
Food was ok, but not great. Biggest disappointment was the indifferent and slow service. A bit more focus and attention to detail would have lifted the experience. Table next to us had to get up and go ask someone if they could order food...I guess that says a lot.
What a great restaurant! Great food, friendly and professional service. Sat outside on a lovely warm evening and enjoyed our meal a lot. Went inside for the toilets later and was impressed by the the main dining room. Looks fantastic and has a good vibe. Surprisingly fairly reasonably priced.
Went for my wife’s 50th birthday lunch. Service was great, wide choice of dishes and decent selection of wines. Food was excellent , all in all perfect for the occasion. Thanks ...
Great food. Great service.
Fantastic service and food, very happy will be back!
Buen ambiente, buena comida y buen servicio. Muy agradable
Had a great night, good food, great services and the music was a fab trip down memory lane of the 80s
It’s what Saturday night is for.... the Ivy fab place!
Amazing cocktails and wine to compliment the great fresh delicious food.
We will return but also visit other Ivy Brasserie’s.
Wonderful food and good turnaround time, great buzzy ambience but not too crowded- overall fab evening!
Excellent service and food The atmosphere was perfect
Beautiful food, efficient service! Would highly recommend.
Difficult to get attention of staff but food good. We had afternoon tea but they had trouble recounting which teas they had on offer.
The food was nice, if a little over priced for what you got. The service was pretty poor, simply because there weren’t enough staff. I had to chase up a cocktail order three times. They were ordered as an aperitif but turned up halfway through the main course!
Sunny the manager was wonderful . I’d popped in couple of weeks before to explain that we were being my friends son who has autism and would it be ok to reserve a table ? Sunny was nothing but charming , friendly , caring and accommodating. My friend hadn’t been out to a restaurant for years and to be able to enjoy my sister’s birthday with us was a Golden Magic Moment .
Thank you Sunny. Thank you The I’ve Brasserie Soho.
See you soon ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food was great, we really enjoyed our dinner. Service was a bit slow but maybe because the restaurant was packed. Staff was quite friendly though
We visited the Ivy on a busy Friday night. Had a great table in the corner. Food was delish and for the centre of town, very reasonable. Dinner with starters, steaks and a bottle of wine came to £100. Service was excellent. Love this place! Whether it’s brunch, lunch or dinner it’s such a fun place to visit. One of my favourite places in London ❤️ Ps don’t forget the cocktails! Fabulous x
Great birthday meal. Felt well looked after and portions almost too big.
Very, very noisy. There was a DJ but TBH was noisy before DJ came on! Staff very helpful in moving us to less noise area... still noisy tho! Sommelier was helpful. Food average, eg Asian flavouring poor and temperature was just about warm. Nice decor but don't think we'll be back to this particular Ivy again.
Excellent service and our waitress Paula was very helpful and knowledgeable. Recommend coming here.
Great service, fun environment and good food. Would definitely go back
Excellent menu, tasty food beautiful surroundings, very highly recommended
