We ordered a bottle of Ella’s Ridge Pinot Noir and were served another Pinot Noir without any explanation. We said it was the wrong bottle but no replacement was offered. Food not great. Sweet potato in dish was cold

Our food was very good , although 3 of us that ordered the sesame salmon felt it was slightly over cooked. We asked for it to be pink which to us meant medium rare but the fish was cooked all the way through, making it less moist then we desired. Otherwise, everything was delicious. Loved the cheese soufflé. Cocktails and wine were great. Loved the baba au rum for dessert as well. Service was ok, a bit slow. We didn’t particularly like being at next to the bussing station. My friend was pressed against a plexiglass panel and was feeling very hot the whole time. All in all, enjoyable.

The service we received was exceptional. We found the restaurant very accommodating by allocating us a table which allowed us to bring our 8 week old baby and their pram with us. Beata who was our waitress, was the most polite and attentive member of any restaurant staff I’ve ever encountered. An absolute asset to your business. Well Done Beata! Will 100% return on our next visit to the Capital.

Having been a number of times before this visit was disappointing. There were several errors and general lack of attention to service. One main course was delayed. Incorrect desserts and the wrong bill were amongst the problems. Staff members stated that they were short staffed and it was chaotic. Not a great advert for a so called high class restaurant. Overall particularly disappointing given this was a special occasion as well

Disappointing food. Haphazard presentation. Complained about duck salad (an Ivy stalwart that should really be consistently good). It was soggy and certainly not as described. It wasn’t taken off the bill until requested. Other food a bit slapdash and lacking in love.

Excellent birthday lunch at the Ivy. Felt special from start to finish. Food was hot and tasty. We shared haggis balls ( delicious), I had smoked haddock/ salmon fish cake, my husband had the shepherd’s pie. All very tasty. Our server was Alessia who was attentive, professional and very personable. Couldn’t have wished a nicer experience for my Scottish vacation and my birthday

Never had a bad experience here and this was our 4th visit. Early dinner on a date night before going to the ballet. Akshatha was attentive, but in no way intrusive and gave us some good recommendations. Restaurant was quiet, but we were dining early and thankfully there were very few tourists in town! We'll be back.

Usually my favourite restaurant In Edinburgh and indeed London but this is the third time running that the food order took ages to come out - and last time in London also, the same far too slow delivery. At least 30 mins before 1st course and another huge gap before the second. Won’t be returning for a long time now if at all

Ivy has a nice atmosphere and our starters were great but my main course was mediocre and my husbands Ribeye steak awful. Chewy and just not enjoyable. We did complain the the waiter & £12.50 was taken off our bill but to be honest the poor meal just spoilt the evening which we had been looking forward to!

Amazing food - great value and interior is stunning - although the service was a little slow - the waiter apologised and it was very busy and this didn’t spoil the experience.

A very enjoyable lunch here. First visit for our friends so thankfully didn’t disappoint. I had the Asian menu which was excellent. My friend had fish and chips. Our gin cocktail to start with was amazing.

Went for my mums 80th birthday, we ordered fish and chips and I have to say it was the best I’ve tasted in a LONG time delicious. Had 2 cocktails each also delicious. Service and attention to detail outstanding. Can’t fault it I will be back

Lovely experience, birthday brunch my friend was given a birthday pastry which was a lovely touch and so appreciated. Food was delish and amazing service. Some very noisy children behind us and my chair was kicked a few times by people passing, small negatives which did not really spoil our visit

Prices had gone up, especially for wine, and staff not as great as before. Didn't feel as welcome. Food seemed a rip-off. Won't be back again, despite loving it before.

Very professional and attentive staff. We were initially given the wrong menu by the door staff but this was swiftly correct by our server. The food was nicely presented and tasted amazing. I would recommend the cocktails full strength measures and efficiently served.

Very disappointing. We ordered 2 steaks Medium Rare and Medium. The Medium Rare one came WELL DONE and the Medium one came VERY Medium. Almost rare in fact. This is the second time we have had to send our steaks back. We will NOT be back. Done now. Unacceptable at a supposedly high class very expensive restaurant.

Havent been to the Edinburgh Ivy for quite a while (been to others) - we thoroughly enjoyed it - new waiter Omar was very helpful and entertaining ! The food was wonderful - one of the best meals we have had . Prompt and effecient service and a good atmosphere . We booked on line and ate quite early (6.30pm) - they were turning away people who hadent booked at that time - place was very busy when we left . They have a nice additional seating area upstairs . The set menu is nice and reasonably priced but we chose from the a la carte. I can recommend the sqid/calamari starter - but a lot so worth just sharing. My steak was cooked perfectly - overall a lovely experience and worth the money
