The Ivy was really lovely. Positive vibes from when you walked in the door. Decor very nicely done, lots of colour but not OTT. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was great. Very flavoursome without being overpowering. Good cocktail menu. Nice gesture of a little cake for my birthday brought to the table! The toilets are fab! The only thing I found a small fault in was the font size on the menu! Very small print! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would like to try it out for lunch. Thank you.
Excellent meal, service and atmosphere Pricey at average E85 per head without wine but we did have the Tomahawk steak for two . Meal could have been significantly less expensive if we’d taken other choices . We’ll probably do that the next time . A treat .
It’s a real threat to eat at the Ivy , wear your Sunday best and enjoy some fine dining love it
Did not like my meal this time. Burger was not home made. My husbands fish was nice but paid an extra €10 for mash & veg which made it expensive. Both tables beside us had to ask for their sides after a time as they did not come with their main meal. Even though there were plenty of waiting staff, I imagine the kitchen staff were under pressure with preparing dishes.
The place looks like a tropical zoo. A lot of plants in pots and colorful pictures of animals on the walls. I love it. The ambiance is amazing. It is light, airy and colorful.
The service was first grade. The waiters are dressed in uniforms and ours was very polite and accommodating.
We also found the food outstanding. Small but delicious portions. It is expensive but you can see why. We loved it.
Very enjoyable from start to finish - excellent service from start to finish and as always food was fab xx
Fish was overcooked though other dishes were ok. My friend asked for her fish to be replaced but did not get it back in time to eat with the rest of the party. We were still charged for the fish. When someone's food is delayed to this degree, it really should come off the bill. Service was otherwise good but food just ok. Pricey for what you get.
The overall experience was good at the Ivy but I was disappointed at how we were brought the bill without requesting it at 9.30 and basically told that they were awaiting the table. I understand we had the table for 2 hours and our booking was from 7.45 so this left us with 15 mins. We had just ordered two cocktails and were then told we could stand at the bar.
My family and I had a fabulous meal in The Ivy, the quality of the food was excellent, the staff were so friendly and efficient and what can I say about the ambiance...outstanding.
Service very good and the restaurant and facilities fab but food only average!
Lovely experience, staff are lovely, food was nice nothing special, to be honest value for money not good I think they can offer a bit more overall nice to experience it all but I've been to nicer , kid friendly
overpriced and food not great this tie sauce tasted more lie a soup than sauce. Felt I was seating on top of the people next to e as could hear everything they talked about and visa versa. Service was good but as always with the Ivy you cant linger as they are always looking for the table back.
I've been here many times and always loved it. The food has always been super however on this occasion it was very disappointing. The prawn and avocado salad was avocado less with minimal prawns, tastless bread and end remants of lettuce leaves. The other two people I was with were disappointed with their food also. Having said that the atmosphere is very good and does allow for a pleasent relaxed experience. Beautiful decor and comfortable seats.
Beautiful venue. Food average. Good service just remember to pay service charge in cash or else does not go to staff.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.
The food quantity is so small and most definitely not value for money. The chips were hard and obviously recooked. They were tasteless. The shepherds pie was a small, round tasteless dish and offered me 4 mouthfuls from a large plate. Disgraceful.
Two of us ate here and we had to order three starters, two mains and 5 side dishes. We were still hungry that an hour later we had to have pizza.
The fact that they add service charge to your bill is a disgrace. This is not the US nor London. The restaurant used to have snob appeal in London but certainly should not here in Ireland. I can only assume this is why people go here which is ridiculous as it certainly ain’t for the food or the value.
My husband’s birthday
Great. Delicious food. Great service.
Setting and staff are fantastic but the food was appalling.
Probably fourth or fifth visit and very pleasantly surprised as the quality was faultless - possible a new chef? Many people (I think) select this place for its interior/ambience/locality and hope for the best around the food offering but we couldn't have enjoyed our meals more. The prawn tempura and prawn cocktail & the duck salad all had lovely extra tastes outside of the expected. The partridge went down very well with particular enjoyment around the gravy offering! If I have one bugbear- it applies to most 'down town' venues - the price of cocktails, heading close to and further away from €12 is getting cheeky.
Food always amazing and service is great, just the 20 euro service charge for 2 people wasnt good and I refused to pay it ,I think taking staff tips and charging 2 people 20 euro service charge is a rip off
The Ivy is a beautiful restaurant and the service was fairly good. However the food was really ordinary - I wouldn't say it was worth the money. I had their signature burger with cheese and it was dry and very plain. I'd suggest going here for a drink instead of food.
Wonderful, convenient venue. Good atmosphere, decor outstanding
Excellent setting good food friendly staff great venue for business breakfast or business lunch recommend 👍
Myself and my friend had a lovely meal here at The Ivy. The food was delicious, the waiter was extremely patient and friendly. We were there to celebrate my birthday and a lovely couple sat next to us bought us both a glass of Prosecco to celebrage. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Great service, beautiful food. Had a wonderful time - perfect for celebrating.
Lovely restaurant friendly staff, Not much of a selection if you are looking to drink draft Beer.
But over all it was nice a bit over priced .
When making my online booking, my intention was to book Afternoon Tea for myself and my friend. There was no option to select this, so I concluded that the booking was made for two and we could specify on arrival that we wished to order Afternoon Tea.
We were told on arrival that I should have specified my request at the time of booking and that because the Afternoon Tea supplies are actually bought in and not prepared in -house, we could not be accommodated unless there was a cancellation.
We settled on having a late lunch, which we enjoyed very much. Service, price, value and our overall experience was very good.
The next day, I did test your bookings process to see how and where I went wrong in not clarifying that I wanted to book Afternoon Tea. Again, there is no obvious selection process, and I assume the system defaults to a table being booked for a meal.
While it was a very enjoyable afternoon, it was disappointing that we had to forgo our intended treat. The Afternoon Tea selection looked delicious, and the guests to our immediate left seemed to enjoy theirs.
Average food, but nice presentation of it. The atmosphere and the service are the best thing of this place!
Food was fantastic , a little on the expensive side , would not come back because of this reason , it’s something you would try once. Unaffordable to a returning costumer.
I thought the front of house was very impersonal. Not as much as an hello or good evening from the staff at reception and we were led to our table without a word spoken to us. Not a very good first impression
Great night lovely food attentive waiter great atmosphere. Food excellent value for money but cocktails menu was a little pricey
Went early and had a couple of drinks at the bar. Very friendly and helpful barmen saw to our every need.
We got a lovely seat in the corner quite randomly I think which was great as a lot of the tables , as in many restaurants these days , seemed very close together. Our starter of prawn tempura was wonderful while my monkfish and prawn curry was exceptional. My wife had the chicken Milanese which was also delicious. The service and ambiance was wonderful . I hope to return soon as we had an exceptional evening.
We had a really enjoyable evening. Despite the fact that we had an early sitting due to lack of availability later (5.15pm), there was still a super lively atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere, for the most part service was good and efficient. Really enjoyed the experience I’ll definitely
Lovely experience in The Ivy for lunch.
My only issue was the wine list pricing, quiet expensive , no a great selection under the €40 mark
Absolutely fantastic, staff were fantastic, food was gorgeous, lovely surroundings
We had a really lovely table for three beside the window. Food was excellent but one of my friends found the sole a little dry.
I know The Ivy has had negative publicity about its tipping system. The tips do not go directly to staff.
We find this policy unfair and would like you to review it.
Love the ivy
Always great atmosphere great food with thought imaginatively prepared and presented. Love the cocktails and whole feel and decor is stunning .
A treat for any day
6th time here in looking forward to next visit .
Service could have better. Also, DJ there on the night and conversation was difficult due to noise level.
Really nice establishment - beautiful decor. Totally recommend it.
A bit noisy but not to be missed.
