I had a table booked that included my two teenagers, at 7pm for a meal - we were met by the doorman who was very dismissive of us, who continued to question our legitimacy of a booking, was insisting on ID from my kids - once he eventually escorted us in we were then met by an equally dismissive waiter who even once confirmed our booking, never even showed us to our table but nearly just pointed to a table on the corner right by the entrance. Honestly was made to feel like we were just a burden and just tucked out of the way - not the welcome I was hoping for, it really tainted the rest of our night.

The haggis fries are a good choice! An excellent view if you can get the table overlooking the castle.

We visited at last nah time. Lovely decor and great food. Staff were very friendly but service was a little slow, not a place to go if you’re in a rush. It was also really cold inside- had to keep our coats on!

We ate breakfast there and the food was good (had salmon benedict). The service was a little slow and the seat by the window was hot (there was a fly). Since the food was good we came back for dinner on another day. The Mac and Cheese and burger were swimming in an unappetizing cheese (maybe this is the Scottish way?) Service was a little slow again. Since it was relatively expensive, I would not return. It wasn't bad, but not a good value.

Very comfortable with a great atmosphere. Fantastic staff who always go above and beyond to do anything they can to make your visit a memorable one. Best cocktails in Edinburgh as the bar staff will make anything you ask for. Highly highly recommend
