The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

    As usual food and service great. Food hot and freshly cooked. Staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend eating here.

    Meals were lovely, kids loved their burgers and my husband enjoyed the steak pie and the knickerbocker glory. Staff were lovey and engaging with my girls.

    Just outstanding food, been going there nearly 20 years, never had a bad meal. Staff are so well organised, friendly and helpful, food is wonderful, I had a special of butternut squash, goats cheese, spinach and pine nuts in filo pastry parcel with sauted potatoes in creamy garlic sauce and a side of vegetables...sublime and I'm not even a vegetarian! Key lime pie for dessert was heaven on a plate, its a reall old fashioned English pub inside and I love it and already looking forward to my next visit
