The Hoffman House is located at the corner of the historic Stockade district in Kingston NY, and once served as fortification and lookout against Indian attacks. Today the Hoffman House serves a continental fare, featuring steaks, fresh seafood, pasta specialties and homemade artisan desserts. An open-air, beautifully landscaped garden patio, enhances outdoor dining in the summer, while you can cozy up next to one of our three large stone fireplaces in the winter.

It was for my bday,
The waitress was fabulous, she joked with us and had a good time
The waiting period for our drinks was forever she took our orders and we had our salads before our drinks even came out.
Dinner was great and dessert also.
Great tavern atmosphere! Highly recommend this place
We love this place. My husband and I have found this quaint restaurant several years ago. We make the 2 hr trip from Long Island a couple of times a year. New owners since last year and the food is still excellent and ambiance great. Bartender Dario friendly and welcoming. Only problem this last visit was our waiter was not attentive, forgot my appetizer and did not describe the duck with the correct sauce. It was still delicious but not what he said and he denied saying it. We will definitely be back...still a great place and excellent value.
Overall a good night considering it was Valentines Day. Our server was great, although we heard others having trouble. The Prime Rib was okay and lobster tails a bit small ( 3-4 oz). While not a deal breaker, I was surprised to see a 2.50 charge for ice with my drink. Apps, salad and dessert were great.
The food was amazing and everything was perfect. The French onion soup is to die for.
Friendly staff, excellent food and great ambiance!
The food was delicious. The staff was courteous and kind. The restaurant was spotless. The ambience was relaxing. We live 2 hours away from the restaurant and we were in town for a ski weekend. We’re planning our next trip and we plan on dining at this restaurant every time!
Large portions. Had the special, seafood risotto and wife had another special , pork chop (1" thick and moist) with cherries and apples over a gouda mashed. The veggies were an extra order.. Excellent. Large pours on the martinis also! Historic location. Win win
Excellent Food and Value ! Love it .
I feel i was back 200 years ago with the amazing history ......................
Plus the drinks were food channel quality
Very old house...drafty and freezing cold. The service was slow and spotty. I know these are difficult times for restaurants but there were 3-4 servers for no more than 10 tables.
Old houses are old houses but there were so many cracks near the windows that it was unbelievably cold, drafty and uncomfortable. Food was ok... not bad but not great.
