Located in Hatton Wall, between Chancery Lane and Farringdon tube stations, this traditional London pub is a busy spot for business lunches, after-work drinks and city-style cocktail parties. The Hat and Tun attracts an old-school crowd of journalists, professionals and bon vivants, and the dining room itself is decorated with cherry red leather armchairs, wood-panelled walls and a crackling open fire. The kitchen is open for lunch,and serves bar snacks throughout the evening, and popular dishes include the steak and Guinness pie; the hot salt beef sandwiches on rye; and the British cheese board complete with oatcakes and quince. The bar has a superb selection of ales and lagers, and an impressive international wine list.

Fun pub vibe and pretty good pub grub. Staff were great! (Good beers too). Suitable for local lunch.

A great little traditional pub tucked away in Hatton Gardens. You can’t find better than their delicious pies and friendly team.

Two visits in a row they'd run out of half the items on their menu (even at the start of their lunch service!) leaving no choice for the vegetarians in the group. The burger, which costs £13, was charred to a cinder and absolutely tasteless. Used to be a nice place but what they've produced recently is terrible, and shocking given the price tag attached to it.

The Hat and Tun in London is a very authentic pub serving good pub style food and real ales. Interesting local clientele add to the atmosphere.

Home-made scotch egg was lovely... and a meal in front of the fire when there's snow outside was just perfect. However, it was £30 (no alcohol) for two sandwiches a shared started and coffee... slightly pricey. Nice though.

We visited the Hat and Tun as part of a team lunch and had heard good things. Had a good atmosphere with very helpful staff, who were almost too helpful at times when we were asked if we would like to order a number of times after ordering. The food was as expected from a pub like this, perfectly acceptable and the price was reasonable when we opted for the pie and beer for a tenner. Would attend again, but not rush back to eat.
