   It was cold in the restaurant which wasn’t pleasant to eat in. We asked for the air conditioning to be turned up but it made no difference. I can’t say the food was thrilling I didn’t enjoy at all my sea bass which was very dry

   Our booking was for 3 people, one of whom was celebrating her 89th birthday. The restaurant had given us the opportunity to offer this information, so we were surprised to be placed in a dark, unoccupied far end of the restaurant, only to be joined almost immediately by 4 very loud young women, celebrating a reunion and seated right next to us! Thankfully, we were moved, but our guest was surprised (as I was, being of a similar 'vintage') to be addressed as 'my love' by the waiter! Sherry was not among the aperitifs (the first time we've ever come come across that) and the food was interesting but without much choice. My husband left to get the car while our relative and I negotiated our way unsteadily to the exit without any helping hand to open the heavy door and step out into the night. One last thing! Why were we told so clearly when we booked that our table had a time limit on it? I kept looking at my watch but when out time was up, the waiter seems totally unconcerned. How do the diners know if there's a time limit or not?

   Sadly the food was very poor - really tough meat - not really edible. We were seated right at the back of the restaurant against the windows despite booking around 5 weeks ago on a table that was too large for 3 of us - so no ambience at all hidden away at the very back. The waiting staff were lovely.

   Lovely to have live music and great to get an entire vegan menu. A real treat! Who knew battered gherkins were even a thing….delicious!! (But naughty)! A really nice atmosphere throughout. Good service…we’ll be back.

   Very good. Great service, nice food, especially the steak and chips. Only slight criticism was the peppercorn sauce was too thin. Other than that, amazing
