With Thanksgiving dinner you should’ve had cranberry sauce. In the morning the muffins were dry, too small and all covered in poppy seeds. A little more variety would’ve been nice. Wait help was great. I would’ve liked to have seen the library dining room opened as it has more ambience and a big cafeteria likeRestaurant
It was our 35th wedding anniversary and we were seated and they brought a glass of champagne. The clam chowder was amazing. I had scallops and my husband had swordfish, very good. It was a beautiful dinner
We had the pleasure of staying at Sound View for the weekend and were so impressed by the Halyard.
Given the weight that Covid-19 has put on restaurants the Halyard rose to the occasion to give us a fun and tasty meal with great service.
We had a wonderful server who went above and beyond her duties to give us recommendations and make sure that everything was as it should be.
The food was excellent from the Salted Biscuits (a must!) to the Shrimp Cocktail and the Basque Cheesecake.
I was impressed with their cocktail service and the interesting and flavorful options they provided like "And The Beet Goes On" a gin-based cocktail with a peppercorn and beet shrub.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and is a must visit if you are in the North Fork.
Stephen, Thank you very much for your thoughtful review and for choosing to dine with us during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in a future visit! Kind regards, The Halyard Team
My husband and I went to The Halyard Restaurant for a date night/weekend. The food and wine was delicious and the service by James was exceptional.
Service not good and they sat us in a back room that was very dark.
Lisa, We apologize that you did not enjoy experience with us. We pride ourselves on hospitality and hope you join us again so we ensure you have a true Halyard experience. For a future visit, if you are not satisfied with your table, we are always happy to move you to a different area of the dining room. Kind regards, The Halyard Team
Amazing view, food and service! Will be returning again soon!
Kysta, Thank you for taking the time to write a wonderful review. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit! Kind regards, The Halyard Team
Excellent food great service. Menu slightly limited but no different from any other given reduced capacities. Thought they died fantastic at spreading everyone out. Very nice
Room and view were incredible. Even with COVID the hotel took every precaution. Weather was incredible and Halyard was very busy. Stayed with my boyfriend the weekend of November 7. We had one of the best waitress named Trish. Service was impeccable and food was delicious. She gave the best service and had a great personality. Another outstanding worker was Carolyn S. She took care of two groups of people who stood and talked without masks. She was so sweet and even had to go back as some took off the masks again. All the staff make u feel so safe. On our way out a gentlemen (I believe the owner) apologized for the crowd. Thank u so much to all the staff and do not miss out on this gem. Beautiful views great food great staff.
It took about 1 1/2 hours to get our main course. The restaurant was not crowed so we are not sure what took so long. I had scallops that were in a brown gravy kind of sauce (which was strange) and my meal was not good at all. Friends had the short ribs and they were excessively salty and fatty. It was almost like they just dropped the brown sauce from the ribs onto our scallops. Strange indeed. An overall disappointment, but the ambience was nice.
Over priced food. Dinner choices had limited menu and limited drink menu.
Amazing view, great service & wonderful meal!
First time we dined in this restaurant although I've been driving past it for over 30 years - under a different name, of course. But my wife and I really enjoyed the food, the service was great and the view is gorgeous. Definitely worth the trip!
I grew up in Aquebogue and have lived on the east end for 26 years; this was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant out here ever. Period. Chef, the food was incredible; thank you for a wonderful meal.
excellent food and glad they were open on a monday evening!
Food was excellent especially their salty biscuits! We’d go back but its a wee bit expensive ~
Awesome. Will return. Feiendky service and outstanding Food
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Super clean - made us feel very comfortable dining indoors during COVID.
First time in 5 months my husband and I dined indoors. Halyard's social distancing practices and guidelines made us feel very safe. All the food was absolutely flavorful and the drinks (especially with Death & Co. in residence) were fabulous. The service was absolutely amazing.
We really enjoyed th Halyard. There service was excellent and the food was very good. We also felt very comfortable with the socail distancing and Covid Protocols
Lovely, quiet atmosphere on a foggy Monday night. The hostess was sweet and our waitress Rhonda was attentive and knowledgeable about the wines. The scallops and risotto were excellent. The biodynamic salad was good; the light dressing made it flavorful. Great experience.
The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, creative, and flavor-filled.
Reservation for window table made in advance. We arrived early only to learn they did not reserve us a table by the window. Hostess refused to accommodate . Service terrible, small portions very good but overpriced. Charge for Foccia bread served 2 bottom pieces of stale bread
While the food was very good we found this restaurant overall to be way below par and far to expensive for the quality And quantity on all counts. I would not recommend nor will I ever return.
Terrific staff and food. Enjoyed our dining at the Halyard and stay at the Soundview Inn.
Loved the location of this restaurant. Food was good, service was fine. Enjoyed the views immensely!
Great experience. Go and enjoy.
Wasn’t impressed by the girls at check in. Did not find them to be very friendly or personable. Wait staff took away appetizer before we were done and wouldn’t accommodate any meal substitutions but, Atmosphere was very nicely done though and food was very good
Very good experience. Bit pricey for the ingredients but a well prepared dish is worth paying a little extra for these days.
Beautiful outdoor dining !
The food was ok - not worth the price. You are really paying for the view and ambiance, which is lovely.
I would recommend getting some outdoor space heaters - it was 52 degrees outside when we ate.
Amazing gluten free fish and chips
So beautiful w waves crashing beneath you. Atmosphere is wonderful and so was the food.
Lovely place for lunch with my sister. We could not have been happier!
Good but fairly expensive. The restaurant is much better than the hotel.
The service here at the Halyard was amazing. Our waitress Tricia was extremely personable and efficient. She allowed us time to eat at our own pace and enjoy our meal from appetizers to dessert. The rest of the staff from bus-girl to hostess were very accommodating, kind and helpful as well.
Food was excellent. The outdoor balcony was a beautiful setting and service was lovely.
Dinner was delicious, and our server was courteous.
We enjoyed the scallops very much. We went rather early,
because we had little children with us. It was quiet and relaxing.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere!
Lovely view outside. Could not figure out where restaurant was as kept thinking we were at a motel. Not clearly marked.
