Not a great menu For non meat eaters and the food that we ate was bland and pretentious. Goat pannacotta was tasteless with teeth grinding grit garnish and solid beet. Inedible Terrible chips , cold, and tasted artificial Our three guests , one , a major chef , was very disappointed as my recommendation was 'enthusiastic ' and so I was very embarrassed .

Went there Sunday night for a meal, some dishes off the menu. But what we did order was good. Service was back to its normal self, very efficient.

I went to The Gun last Saturday evening and I have to say that I was impressed both with the food and the service. The restaurant was very busy, nevertheless the service was quick, nice and we were served as I expected, so I was very pleased with that. Both starters and main courses were delicious and full of true flavours, but my monkfish was outstanding! It exceeded my expectations, cooked to perfection and presented with many other elements that made the dish really interesting and packed with genuine flavours. I've never enjoyed a dish so much, brilliant chef!

We travelled to London for our first visit with our best travelling buddies. The Gun is a lovely restaurant off the beaten path. The food (especially the rabbit); ambiance and service was amazing. A definite place to try if you are near the Canary Wharf or O2.

Whilst The Gun is a little off the beaten track, what a fantastic place to eat! It's a traditional British pub but with a big difference in respect to the dining experience. It combines your usual Saturday night drinking punter (at the bar) with dressed- to- the-nines guests sat at tables with white tablecloths and sparkling cutlery and glasses - and does this very well. An abundance of well dressed and extremely friendly staff meant service was exceptional without being intrusive and the drinks menu (including the wine menu) was extensive. As a pescatarian, menu choices are sometimes limited, but The Gun offered such a wide choice it was difficult to make one! All fish is as fresh as it comes and locally sourced from Billingsgate. My choices were scallops to start and cod for the main - outstanding! As i'm watching my weight, i can't remember the last time i completely finished a course......... not this time. The food was so delicious i ate every last morsel and even had the cheeseboard because it sounded so good (and was!). An absolute delight to eat here and will definitely do so again. Many thanks to The Gun for such a pleasurable experience!

Having been here before I was looking forward to this...sadly we waited 40 minutes for a drink and my main course choice was not available only finding out after I ordered it! The Main course was disappointing. A small amount of lamb for the price. The manager was very gracious but I wouldn't rush back.

As always, spectacular views across the Thames to the dome. This time I had fish (previously beef or chicken) and I was impressed. Fresh from nearby Billingsgate Market, well-cooked, and served with simple, well-chosen accompaniments. Washed down with a nice Alsatian Riesling, it made for a very pleasant supper.

Nice - but small- open terrace. Good food and very decent wine list. Service though... Needs to be trained to look after patrons rather than chatting among themselves!

We went on a Friday night for a booking at 7. Although we were a little late the restaurant wasn't too busy. We asked about going into the terrace but since it was sunny it was too busy which eas disappointing. I suspect that if you want to get onto the terrace then you have to be there much earlier. The food and service was lovely. I had the grouse and my date had the sea bass. It was very tasty, and the suggested wine went well too. I went for the cheese afterwards which was great. Definitely worth going to but misleadingly further away from the nearest dlr then you imagine ( so allow plenty of time!)
