   Went last minute for a Mother's Day dinner. Restaurant was less than half full. We soon found out why. The food was ok. Mom loved her lobster. The ribs appetizer was mediocre. My sister's wedge salad was pretty good. She also had the crab cakes with risotto. The risotto was the best part of the entire meal. My husband had chicken pasta, it was ok. I had the skirt steak. It was drowned in some kind of teriyaki sauce. Our server was very slow. Forgot about us a few times. Strangely decorated-there's a chandelier in the front window, giant onion/spaceship looking lamps inside and a variety of styles of sconces and blocks with candles on the walls. The air conditioning unit was so loud that we had to raise our voices to hear each other.

   A nice Mother's Day dinner. Only two severs taking care of the entire dining room (not very crowded)...ours was sort of slow and unattentive. Tasty Ahi Tuna Satay appetizer and Tri Color Salad. Delicious marinated skirt steak...cavatelli and filet mignon was good...but not quite as good as usual. Give it a try.

   Excellent, attentive service.Our waitress was lovely. We started off sharing the mandarin salad made with field greens and mandarin vinaigrette, very enjoyable.My husband had the seafood paella and I had the rigatoni with shrimp. The seafood was fresh and delicious, both beautifully prepared and very hot from the stove.The espresso and cappuccino finished off our dinner nicely. The jazz band in the background was enjoyable although we would have liked it turned down a notch to allow for easier conversation. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely return.

   Nice atmosphere. Great service. Wonderful food. Singer/guitarist didn't drown out conversation. Would like to return for outdoor dining in the warmer weather.

   Food was very good and beautifully presented. However it is very noisy even when not very crowded . Lovely decor and candle lite. Would go back but not on Saturday nite.

   I generally enjoy the Grill Room. Been going there occasionally since the original owners. Loved the singer that night. The food is pricey and does not stand up to the tab. Presentation was lacking and the food was good according to my Foodie friend and to me it was very good. We are somewhat of food snobs but deservedly so as we do get around to many restaurants especially in Manhatten and cook ourselves. Nonetheless the waitress was charming and couldn't be more gracious. Love the decor. Will go back again but not one of my "go to frequently places".

    This was not the first time I have dined at The Grill Room. The service and the food was not good, probably would not go back. Also, 7:30 reservation and when we ordered they were out of two items we wanted.
