The Griffin Restaurant - Murphy Arts District
Excluding seafood, all food served at the restaurant will be Arkansas grown from farms within a 200-mile radius of the city. Please note that all of our farming sources are listed on a mural inside the Griffin Restaurant.
The Griffin has seating for more than 200 patrons including two private dining rooms, which are available for private rental, and outside patio seating.
Great food, service, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and music.
Disappointed again in the food. super small portions, just silly attempt to be “up scale”. A lettuce leaf on a plate, just a lettuce leaf, really??? The Duck breast was small but tasty, the desert was again very small and just silly. 4th visit and every one has just been ok at best. Most likely will not be back.
The Griffin Restaurant is a wonderful place to spend an evening meal. We truly enjoyed all of the flavors presented to us during our Valentines Day Dinner, the menu was very well crafted. The only critique I have is that the amount of each course given could have been a little more, I am a lite eater so I was satisfied but my spouse came home and ate again. That said we will definitely be returning to the Griffin in the near future!
Thursday night entertainment is always nice. This night was extra special with a new menu and Front Cover Band. Don’t miss a chance to listen to this band. Food was excellent and the entertainment did not disappoint. A little loud, but it’s live music at a great venue.
The service was awesome and so was the live band. I had a great time.
Had a very pleasant evening. The food was superb. Their fillet was perfect, and as always the Griffin burger was excellent!
They had a full house because Front Cover Band was featured. And our waitress was still attentive and efficient. We will be watching the website for the next appearance of this band. Great entertainment!
The food was excellent as usual. Our waitress was good, but slightly forgetful. She always came through in the end, but seemed a little distracted.
Good dining experience. Wait staff was very attentive. Drinks and dinner were excellent.
They could not find my reservation and we were seated in an area where I could only see the side of performers. No one came to take our drink order or place an order for a meal.
The atmosphere was great, but it took 45 minutes to an hour to be waiting on it and we had to wave someone down for that.
Every one enjoyed the atmosphere....great customer service, drinks, food, and the live band Tipsey great
The Gumbo was delish and our waiter was great!
Nick our server was fantastic! Food very good.
Great place for dinner and the entertainment is always great
Very nice dinner with family before Nutcracker next door. Great, attentive service. Excellent food choices for the variety in our party (kids, vegetarian, etc).
My wife and have started a new tradition. We will be eating at the griffin every Thanksgiving. All the food was fantastic our waiter Brock did a great job taking care of us. It was real pleasure to visit with the Chef and have him personally carve our prime rib and top it with his own made sauces. The bread pudding was out of this world good. What a meal.
Well taken care of . Food fantastic. Great bartender .Brock our waiter great. We are lucky to have a restaurant of such class in our area.We will always come back
The place is very nice. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It was quiet and tastefully decorated. My husband and step son enjoyed their meals tremendously. I was not impressed with the Oxtail Ragout. But everything else was excellent!
Neither the wait staff nor the food missed a beat. The four of us ordered a spectrum of 3-for-$15 brunch options -- cinnamon roll, pancakes, chicken fried steak, deviled eggs, yogurt & fruit, tomato bisque, catfish -- all excellent quality and perfectly prepared and presented. We'll be back more often.
We visited the Griffin for the first time this past weekend for the Cleverly’s show and we had such a great time! The staff are awesome and didn’t miss a beat, even though they were full and super busy! We all loved our food choices (I even tried my BIL’s filet mignon that was RARE and I typically don’t do “still mooing” steaks! It was fantastic!) we love the ambiance as well and look forward to many more visits!
The new Thursday night Live Music Menu was a hit! New items as well as reduced prices.
Everything was great - the service, the food, the band, the ambiance.
Always good! Great food, changing menu, good cocktails. Perfect evening
Many thanks to the Griffin Restaurant for helping us celebrate the 91st birthday of our mother. The service, food and food presentation was marvelous. We are very grateful to Devon and Ray for attention to detail and extra special attention given to our Mom on her big day. We will definitely be coming back to the Griffin for our next celebration.
Fantastic jazz concert and delicious food! Love music nights are the best at the Griffin!
Loved the way the entire staff brought out the food, great presentation, food was amazing!
Arrived at 5:15 p.m. our reservation time seated promptly , server arrived immediately took our drink and appetizer order all was fantastic salad next was great fresh and and light with lemon vinaigrette.More drinks before the main courses the duck and pork belly were both amazing. Both desserts were marvelous. We will continue to go back.Service and food 5 stars.
Delightful! Food was fresh and taste great! We are lucky to have such a fine restaurant in ElDorado Arkansas. Love the fact that dress is casual while you are experiencing fine dining!
For a restaurant that shows up as one of the top results in town, we were extremely disappointed. The pricing would be fair if the food quality was up to par, but we weren't impressed by any of our food.
Not sure if he was the manager or what. But he circled my husband and I table all night long without acknowledging us. He spoke too everyone but us. But the food was great and the service was awesome.
I got the club sandwich. It’s enough for 2 people to eat and it was awesome
The Griffin has sort of a split personality.
We arrived at 7:00pm were quickly seated and shown the menu and wine list. I was already familiar with the menu but had not seen the wine list, which was excellent. There was a good selection of by the glass options and the bottle list is extensive. I would recommend that half-bottles be added.
Our entrees were pork chop and 8oz filet. Both cooked perfectly and both first rate. Of special interest are two side items, braised greens with pork and vinegar, also the marinated cabbage. The only item that we didn't care for was the cornbread sprinkled with a mild shredded cheese. We found it tasteless.
Service was excellent, items were brought to the table in order and we were checked on frequently.
The split personality involved a three piece cover band. We didn't realize we had reserved a date that had a band scheduled. We were almost finished with our meals, when the band started their set. The amplified guitars made conversation difficult. The room had gained a number of persons who weren't there to eat but to listen to the music. The type of music was not to my liking. If a slow jazz combo with a singer had been on the entertainment bill. I would have been happy and would probably ordered more wine. But this was just me. Other diners were likely enjoying the band so if making reservations check the scheduled music.
All that said, we would certainly return to the Griffin as the food is great. We would just check on the music.
We had a lovely evening and had a wonderful server. I wish they had not run out of the special but we found yummy substitutions.
This restaurant could be a shining star but for what is served the price is way out of line too high. Also, a restaurant like this does not need to serve a catfish plate. Everybody in the area sells catfish plates with more for a lot less. The complimentary bread they serve isn’t fit to eat and the menu selection is too limited. The quality of food served is no where close to being worth the prices charged.
Much improved since last visit several months ago and questioned whether I’d go back. The rating says it all on this visit
A wonderful place for Sunday/after church brunch. Fast service and nice surroundings frequently with friends that we know.
Very good welcome. Showed quickly to our table. Drinks delivered very fast. Server laughed at my lame jokes. The kitchen created a meal, at my special order, that was not on the menu. The entertainment started on time. Overall a very good night.
Not many healthy entree choices. Dessert (peach cobbler with ice cream) was not good at all. We had 5 people in our party. All of us tasted tasted the dessert and no one wanted a second bite.
great new menu and of course great service will be back
I do not recommend patrons to visit this establishment. I made reservations to celebrate my sister and brother in law’s 40th birthday. A reservation was made at least two weeks prior to our arrival. As we were being seated I noticed the restaurant misspelled my sister and brother in law name on the menu. Previously I emailed the correct spelling of the name. After we were seated, the wait staff took a lengthy amount of time to take our drink and appetizer order. It took at least 30 minutes before the appetizers were brought out. The staff neglected to fulfill all the orders placed. Afterwards the staff finally completed our requests for entrees. The entrees were finally brought out 40 minutes before the closing of the restaurant. Once the entrees were brought out, multiple orders were mixed up, and or simply not put in. We asked to speak to the manager, who did not seem concerned about our horrible experience. Every member of our party was very upset about our experience. We will not visit this establishment again, nor do we recommend this restaurant for any patrons.
