   We had a lovely lunch on a very wet day. The duck was delightfully cooked and presented and a generous portion.

   We have often eaten at The Green, living within walking distance. Our recent meal was really excellent and we felt it an improvement. We had breast of duck and fillet of beef, both cooked rare and very much to our taste. The cooking is certainly 'nouvelle' but portions are generous with plenty of vegetables. The wine list is also good and we enjoyed an extremely good bottle of Gigondas - not cheap but certainly excellent.

   We were recommended this by Giles Coren in The Times a year ago. My son and friends visited early in this year, and were very thrilled. We were astonished at the Tardis like size of the two floors. Compliments to the chef for truly excellent cooking at a fair price. This restaurant MUST come back after November lockdown.

   Food was very good. Service was polite but not the best, no steak knife offered for the Steak main course or salt or pepper. Not bad service but not great either.

   Very pleasant lunch at The Green - each of the three courses was interesting and very well presented. The crab creme brulee starter was exceptionally good. Hake and chicken main courses were also very nice, followed by desserts. We can recommend.

    A superb meal on every account - beautiful presented, delicious and served by attentive and charming staff. The lunchtime menu as especially good value. A real treat and one we will do again, and again and ....
