The Grand Marlin of Panama City Beach
Nice place with nice people and good food. Not the place for value-oriented diners.
Great food and service. Nice menu selections. Waiter recommendations were spot on.
Since the Grand Marlin opened in PCB, it has become one of our favorite lunch and dinner destination. The chips and blue cheese are a must, the crab claws and lobster fingers are terrific appetizers.
Hamburgers are excellent, fish / oysters are always fresh and the staff is very professional and attentive. You won't go wrong here.
From the view of the harbor at sunset to the excellent service by our server, Matthew, and the delicious and beautifully presented food, our experience at the Grand Marlin was top notch! Matthew answered all of our questions about the fish offerings and accompanying sauces. Red fish , Tile fish and grouper were our choices and we each chose well. Delicious!
The food was excellent and so was the service. Would have been five stars overall but we were looking for "fine dining" and it was a touch short on class, long on casual.
Absolutely love this app. We love The Grand Marlin.
This is a place we go to at least once every time we come to PCB. The food is amazing and the service is great. I highly recommend it to anyone coming to this area to visit.
Server could have been more forthcoming with information, particularly regarding specials. We had to ask about early bird special. We had to ask about Happy Hour. We had to ask about bread. We had to ask about dessert menus.
There were also a total of five servers just standing around at that early time. Bad visual for a business!
Great appetizers, drinks & Ribeye was delicious
We were staying at the marina and had dinner here. One of the best meals ever. Service was fantastic as well. Brianna did a wonderful job! Highly recommend and we would definitely go back.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
The food was good, oysters were excellent. Price was reasonable. Waitress was very nice but there seemed to be a disconnect between her and the kitchen as there was a mix up on orders and what was available.
Disappointing. Usually our favorite restaurant in PCB. However, we had reservations but had to wait 20 min to be seated. I've decided I enjoy the Grand Marlin's brunch much better than dinner. The wine selection by the glass is sub par and the bottles are over $100 price point. It was hot in the restaurant, slow service with a steep price tag for the meal.
Our server was great. She made us feel welcome. Had good recommendations for us and we loved our food.
Food is always excellent! Service was great! Great ambiance with beautiful views.
Oysters were fantastic!!!
We think our meals were finished opposite of how we ordered. I wanted my steak medium rare and my wife wanted her yellow fin snapper well done. And, we didn’t discuss until we were half finished so we continued our meal - our choice as several folks came around asking how we were enjoying our meal.
Highly would recommend for sunset time frame on a warm day upstairs bar area.
Fine dining is a premium in PCB and this is very close!
The Grand Marlin is one of the better restaurants we’ve been to in the area. Our server was polite and professional, and our appetizers came out very quickly. However, the entrees then came out less than ten minutes later, before we were even halfway done with the salad and appetizers. So we had to choose between finishing our appetizers while the entree got cold, or keeping all the plates on our table while we tried to eat everything at once. The presentation of the food was nice - we ordered the field greens salad, the ahi poké, and the surf and turf for two (beef short rib with lobster tails), but everything was under salted. Not a big deal, as we were able to add salt, but we are not people who like salty food normally, so for us to both agree that the food needed salt, means that the kitchen probably wasn’t tasting the food they were putting out. The highlight of the meal was dessert. The pastry chef was on point with the butter cake! Overall, the experience was good, but for the price of the meal, and the time it took us to drive there from St Joe Beach, it should have been exceptional.
We have been to grand marlin many times and it is my fave local restaurant. All in all we still had a wonderful time but the meal for two for Valentine’s Day was a bit overpriced for the quality. I will definitely be back but I was disappointed in the beef (was not steak) was more like pot roast or the broccoli dish provided with it was not very tasteful. The lobster was good the service and ambience was fabulous. One average meal will not change my mind this is an awesome place!
The Grand Marlin never disappoints! Great food and great service.
It was a busy Valentines Day evening, and we had to wait to be seated 30 minutes after our reservation schedule. It was another 10 minutes before our waiter appeared. Our drink orders took another 10 minutes. We ordered appetizers and dinner at the same time and the appetizers never arrived. 30 minutes later, our entrees came, and the evening was saved. Food was delicious, and it is a great atmosphere. One of our appetizers came 5 minutes later (calamari) and we kept it, but canceled the gumbo. We should have sent them back, just didn’t fit with our meals by then. We had to flag our waiter down for another glass of wine. He did give us free dessert to go and was very apologetic (He was frazzled, might have been new). Overall, we should go again on a random weeknight.
I would have given all 5 stars but we had to wait quite a while for our drinks and then we ordered a salad and they brought our meal before the salad got there however our waiter came right over and took the meals away and then brought salads out. I am sure they just kept dinners on a warmer but they were still good
Delicious food. Our waiter was very attentive. We eat here often and always have a good experience.
Everything was good,. My only suggestion is that if they were going to put two tables in an isolated area, they should spruce up that area especially it being Valentine’s Day. It felt like we were on time out or something. Definitely put some kind of centerpiece and maybe a couple of plants or something. The area was so plain especially on especial occasion like that night.
I told the hostess that this was our first time at this restaurant. She asked if we wanted to be seated upstairs or downstairs. She said that there was a better view upstairs. One of our friends suggested that we sit by the window. When we arrived upstairs, it was an outside area with plastic where windows should have been. We couldn't see the water. There was a very cool breeze coming through. We moved to the next row but the wind was still too cool. My husband returned to the car to get my raincoat. The waiter should have taken us downstairs to eat where it was much warmer. There was no rolls or bread served. We ordered the shrimp cocktail which only had 5 shrimps for $15. I was surprised about the amount of food for our entrée. The swordfish was about 3" square. The soggy mashed potatoes made a very small circle around the fish. For $30 I was expecting more. When I reserved our seats I was asked if it was a special occasion. I said that it was my husband's birthday. The waiter never mentioned anything about his birthday. I was very disappointed about the cold and the amount of food. The food was good especially the desserts. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
Best anniversary valentines dinner ever... we loved our server!!!
The food and service was excellent as always. Please tint the windows, or screen.
Best food I ate in PCB! Had live music that was great! I wish I would have gone there sooner into my trip and was able to try more things on the menu. I went on my last night, grouper was AMAZING!!
The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
This is a great place to eat and spend time. Our service was exceptional. Our food was prepared exactly as expected and the ambiance is outstanding. We dine there when we want a really special experience
The restraint is loud, service was good but don’t go and expect to have a quiet dinner or be able to talk to your dinner guests. Food is overpriced and under delivered.
We're Snowbirds and come back to Grand Marlin every year and you never disappoint!
Delicious, great ambiance, wonderful music, and friendly service. Delicious Bloody Mary!
One of the go to in Panama City Beach...never fails.
Wonderful as always.
Sunday brunch was great. Crab Benedict was superb. Husband enjoyed his grits. Server was attentive to our needs and view of marina delightful. Mimosas for $2.50!!
Great food > Grouper special fantastic!
We’ve been here several times and never a disappointment. We brought visiting friends from the Midwest for the view and the seafood. Both excellent! Top shelf service also. Only disappointment was that we missed out on the daily special.
Wonderful Sunday brunch and they were very accommodating when we called and said we were running a little behind our reservation time.
Service was a little slow but was expected with the crowd.
Great food, great service, great time!!! One of our best nights eating here and we eat here often. At least a few times per month. I had the Yellow fin tuna and was delicious and left as rare as I wanted. Wasabi mashed potatoes always a winner. My wife had a Ribeye. First steak for either of us at the Grand being a seafood restaurant and she was not disappointed. Very good flavor, tender and cooked to order.
