   Well, the first thing that was different was the reception desk is at the opposite side of the outside door which was the entrance for 'OX Lot 9'. The back of the chairs was not easy on your back, looked very nice. The Service was excellent. The food our group ordered was very good.

   Wonderful menu with a delicious balance of steak and seafood! Halibut was immaculate (thanks to the waitresses advice) and the gumbo with potato salad melted in our mouths. Very good cocktails! Must dine when in Covington, LA!

    Okay food, but severely overpriced for what it was. My husband’s $40 steak was over cooked. My salmon was well cooked, but a little bland, and the lentils were crunchy. 4 drinks and 2 entrées cost $140 plus tip. The best part of the meal was my hubby’s Old Fashioned; it was excellent. I don’t mind paying for great food, but this wasn’t it. TLDR: Mediocre at best. We won’t be back.

    Our waitress was beyond awesome. She went above beyond even writing princess on my daughter’s to go box. She tended to me with my daughter and infant niece during our Mother’s Day brunch. She anticipated this single mom’s needs. I hope to book my next event there with hopes of her being our waitress. Our food was spectacular, and the staff was very friendly and the ambiance is unmatched. I don’t mind taking that drive from Orleans parish to receive their phenomenal service!

    Food was delicious! Tuna was "blackened" but not like we know it in Louisiana. Sweet potato was really beautiful and tasty. Server was fantastic but sometimes disappeared. Drinks were over-priced. And the Southern Hotel is charming as always.

    The food was prepared very well, and in a very timely manner. It wasn't too busy when we dined, but I didn't feel rushed or that I waited too long, the timing was perfect. Excellent cocktail and the poached eggs were done perfectly and our hollandaise was on point. 9.5/10 experience, definitely would recommend and will return.

    With a new menu, Gloriette is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the area. My husband and I both had delicious meals with a delightful wait staff. We plan on returning to try other items on the menu in the future.

    Service was excellent and food was very good. I love coffee and theirs is some of the best I’ve had. It was a little weird when they propped open the door to the street. We got an annoying din of street traffic noise plus a breeze raising the humidity level to double digits. Thankfully, they closed the door after a few minutes. I will dine there again. This time was for brunch, next time I’ll try dinner.

    Beautifully appointed space in a historic hotel in quaint downtown Covington. Food was good, but not great. The dish preparations we ordered seemed a bit uninspired and one-note (plenty, plenty butter). Desserts were delicious, but small and I found it a bit odd to serve "cheesecake" layered like a parfait in a small stemmed glass. Also, at an establishment presenting this atmosphere, the main wine menu should be more robust. No dessert wine selection at all. One last note on the alcohol: please serve wines at the correct temperature. Our reds were seemingly poured straight from room-temp bottles, which in this warm and humid climate ends up badly affecting the quality. Service was very warm and personable, though small things like having to ask for bread and waiting long stretches with un-refilled water glasses (despite asking) shows some lack of attention to basic Fine Restaurant 101. Last thing: I mentioned on my reservation notes that it was my companion's 60th birthday, and indeed we were greeted at the door with a verbal acknowledgment of that, which was a little disappointing because I thought there might be a "surprise" and not a straight-up acknowledgment before we even got to the table. No matter there, I guess. However, there was NO acknowledgment AT ALL at the table -- no "special" dessert, no "happy birthday"...nothing. I'll give them another try in the future, but they have a way to go to the finish line for truly "fine" dining.

    a perfect place for a romantic dinner , particularly if you can get one of the booths. every course was exquisite. Attentive service ensured that each course was presented at the right time, not rushed and never waiting. We dined on Monday evening so the restaurant was not busy , about 35% of capacity.

    The Gloriette is an absolute favorite. We drive from Virginia Beach to San Antonio to see our family and The Southern Hotel in Covington LA has become the perfect way point. Just walk downstairs to dinner. The Gloriette in the Hotel is visually beautiful with a French touch. The menu is extraordinary with a wonderful wine list. I chose a special - bronzed red fish - which was one of the best meals out I have had in a long time. Our server Katie took absolute perfect care of us making it a perfect memorable meal. Looking forward to returning.

    This is a very nice restaurant with nice ambiance and great food. Unfortunately for us we were seated next to a large table of very boisterous people. So the noise level was deafening. Our server Izzy was great and very sympathetic. We spoke to the manger about our frustration with the noise and she acknowledged the issue and made it right. We would definitely return on our next trip, but would make sure we didn’t get seated next to a large table of noisy guests.

    My wife and her friends utilized my reservation. They had a wonderful time and loved the ambience and excellent cuisine and cocktails. They are making plans for another outing to the Gloriette.
