   We went there for St Paddy's day dinner. It was just right, with very good service. The coffee was excellent, I'm always the dd. The arrangement was bench, table, chair. The chairs are high backed, so you don't feel exposed to the room. Will go again, Jim

   Local wines need to be returned to the menu. New red blend tasted like cheap grocery store wine. $17 per glass.

   The food was very good, but the live music was so loud that it spoiled the experience. It actually hurt our ears - it was a bit screechy - and certainly made it impossible to have a conversation. We were counting the minutes until it was over. If we had been by ourselves, we would have left before we were even seated.

   Came in for my 7 o’clock reservation, table not ready, waited 25 minutes no table, finally left, went somewhere else, way better service, why have reservations if you can’t honor them?

   We celebrated my mother’s birthday with a special meal here. My parents both were pleased with their first time experience. We had stellar service by our server and the assistants who helped. All of our dishes were delicious. Everyone was impressed with the freshness of the vegetables and tenderness of the meats and fish. My husband and I wanted to share this special place with our family. We’ve visited the Gate many times before with friends and always consider it a special destination. We will make it that in the future too.

    Keeping in mind that it was valentine's day and the menu was limited the food and ambiance was ok. Initially when we arrived the music was at a good volume that allowed our table to talk without having to shout after a few minutes they turned the volume up on the music and it was difficult for us to have a conversation. They brought the bread and butter out and the butter was nice and soft but the bread was hard as a rock. Our salad came out at the same time as our appetizer not really allowing us time to properly enjoy either one. It felt as though we were being rushed as we could not set our forks down for a minute to talk before the bussers came around wanting to remove the plate. I had the Elk and Venison and the flavors were good but the food was cold. Again same thing kept happening with our plates as the bussers kept trying to take them before we could even finish. The dessert was good but the ambiance was ruined by the fact that we felt rushed to get out.

    Good, basic food, though a bit overpriced for what you get. They really should have a non red meat option for breakfast meat, such as a chicken sausage or turkey bacon. I was surprised they did not…and more than a little disappointed. Lovely ambiance and GREAT service.

    The restaurant is being remodeled so the small dining room with only 3 table occupied was extremely noisy. We were dining with friends so their hostess set us up in a conference room across the hall. It was chilly and not cozy. The food was terrific, a bit pricy we all had burgers. Would recommend but after Reno done.

    Our service was good, we love going to The Gate. The pasta was really overpriced. The lighting in the restaurant is always so bright it reminds me of cafeteria dining! Kim the bartender is always so great at mixing drinks and checking in on patrons! We alway appreciate her. She was not our server that night.

    Buffet food was cold, had to wait for omelette while holding buffet food. Service was nonexistent yet 26% tip factored into bill for nonexistent service. Had to go to bar to ask for tea, charged $8 for two teas. Total bill was $168 for a $59 (2) buffet.. Rip off, never again.

    Our Staff was friendly and attentive, however the price-fix of $66/person was basically for an omelet bar. The omelet was good. The pork loin was tough and old, couldn’t eat it. there was one thing had one egg left (overheard staff asking if they should restock). Toasted bagel was stale, breakfast pastries from store, etc This was a huge letdown,

    Decided to give The Gate another try and again laughing at my choice. The waitress is very sweet but service is so slow, like ridiculously slow. Had to ask multiple times for condiments, had a drink spilled (accidents happen), part of our order not entered, sausage patty not fully cooked, eggs cooked too well, tepid coffee and multiple requests for a to go box. Two hours for brunch is laughable.

    Brought some friends on recommendation of a friend we were not disappointed. We loved the coziness of the lobby. A little busy the day we were there but everything flowed nicely Food was good, esp. the fries!

    Food, drinks, and wait staff were terrific. Cosmin has made a difference and brought the restaurant up to expected standards of fine dining this past year. If you haven't been to the Gate recently, you will be pleasantly pleased with your experience.

    The Gate at The Rancho Murieta Inn and Spa continues to be our go to restaurant while staying in Rancho Murieta. The food is prepared from fresh local produce, and the menu overall is innovative but still familiar. I had the salmon served over a bed of mixed grains recently and it was beautifully prepared and delicious. We will go back again soon.
