After seeing many of the negative reviews i was a little reluctant to try this place out but i am glad that we ended up going. The staff were extremely friendly but due to the COVID situation getting seated outdoors and speed of service was slower than i would have liked, but safety first!
This is an amazing spot just for the view, the seating area is really quite nice and the views are captivating. I can see people's concerns about shade as there are more tables than umbrellas so be warned that on a hot day it could be quite uncomfortable, for myself i mitigated this by booking a dinner reservation 2 hours prior to sunset so the heat and sun were not as intense.
The food was ok, i enjoyed it. We ordered the burger with fries, fish and chips and a side Cesar salad. Burger was cooked well, slightly pink and moist in the middle and the fish batter was light and not too oily.
Overall i was very happy with the environment and the food, definitely would go back again.
Great location for your first COVID dining experience!
It was a perfect spot for our anniversary dinner. The service was excellent and we felt very safe eating there given the Covid-19 pandemic.
What a wonderful jewel in the heart of the City. Well done, safe and appropriately distanced tables in a unquestionably beautiful setting.
We had read previous reviews criticizing the food so my partner and I decided to visit for the scenery and some drinks. The gardens were nice but as other reviews have mentioned, some areas are closed so the actual dining area is quite small. Out of curiosity I ended up ordering the Caprese salad - half a tomato and half a ball of mozzarella for $19! The server kept suggesting that we order more food and dessert but we declined. We stayed for an hour and had 2 drinks each. Not worth the price of drinks and definitely not for food.
Beautiful setting for a dinner date. Good food. Fast and friendly service. Beautiful garden for a stroll after dinner.
Great ambience. This was a birthday celebration. Food was tasty, even our two young children ate their chicken strips and fish. 2 hour limit for sitting at our table was enough time to enjoy our meal and take in the scenery. The walk down the secret garden was entertaining. Even though it was super hot considering the weather, the umbrellas made it bearable. Took a lot of pictures and videos of our experience. Would return for another dinner, but on a cooler evening.
It was a beautiful time for my anniversary with my boyfriend. Staff was kind and accommodating
While I found the atmosphere the food and everything excellent I found it a little pricey for the food that I had.
awesome, we really enjoyed it, took my wife here for our wedding anniversary. Definitely a cool place. Its also family friendly since they have a kid's menu.
The food was not at all good. we came here for brunch and didnt like it. worst part they said garden was open although half of the garden and castle area was closed and we were not allowed to go. food was too expensive for the quality and there were not much options for us. crepes were pathetic had no taste at all.
Overall atmosphere was nice, and a beautiful space to dine in. Food was average - had the steak, and although the portion was large (steak & sides) it was mediocre. Would probably just come back for drinks and not dining to enjoy the space.
Will definitely come back!!!! They followed social distancing guidelines to a T without sacrificing excellent food and service.
Was terrible it was searing hot outside and there were no umbrellas, a lot of diners just like us left because it was just too uncomfortable, definitely a bad experience, i think they should be better organized.
Booked a table for 5pm on Saturday July 4th. Although we were the first to be seated and all other tables were empty, the waiter assigned us to the seat on the outskirt of the garden which was extremely sunny and hot. We asked if we could have a shaded seat or another seat with an umbrella/shade (because they were all free) and we were told that seats are pre-assigned. After us 2 couples came and they were also seated towards the sunny side. We all left without ordering. I think seating should be based on first come first serve or in accordance to weather. It's rude to expect your customers to sit without shade in 35 degrees where we can't even see the menu clearly because of the brightness.
Everything was amazing!! Buttermilk fried chicken was not the best!
Foods appear to be prepared well in advance and reheated. Tuna pizza was tasty but soggy. Caesar salad lettuce was tired not fresh. Cod and fries appeared to be microwave reheated. Lamb Kofka was dried out and tough. Dessert crepes were tired.
The grounds are breathtaking and the atmosphere was very elegant. Food was great!
Was a nice and enjoyable family dinner No issues.
I very much enjoyed the music infused atmosphere !!!!
Simply Brilliant, Well Done Liberty
Bruschetta was way too tiny (and so hard), like for people from Lilliput, however the spring rolls were great. Main dishes were fantastic as well as the sangria pitcher. The staff were phenomenal, top notch, best I’ve seen, 5 stars, everyone showed care. Food on the menu is so desirable and doesn’t disappoint, music isn’t too loud but could be a touch quieter. I’m coming back
This new dining experience at Casa Loma has so much potential! Incredible ambience with the castle and the gardens - just beautiful. The food was a real letdown. To be sitting in such an opulent and gorgeous surrounding, to be presented with a menu mostly consisting of simple salads, burgers, chicken fingers and chicken wings was quite disappointing. On top of that, the burgers we did order we very poor - overcooked beef, over breaded crab. With a few simple tweaks to the menu (and maybe adding some better cocktails), this could be a real winner!
They are knocking safe, social distancing out of the park! Of course the atmosphere is incredible and the food is yummy, but most importantly, we were able to relax and enjoy our evening out, because the management & staff have done an exceptional job with food & COVID safety! We were SO impressed, and you could tell that the staff also felt safe and were already a well oiled machine, following very clear instructions, and are taking the new guidelines very seriously. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic evening despite self distancing measures.
Definitely going back soon.
If you are searching for a nice spot to take a date that is romantic and beautiful, this is it! Enjoy a safe meal and then tour the gardens. Food is basic but tasty.
Overall a good experience.
It was nice to be able to dine out once again and feel safe.
We went on opening night so obviously it was still something that needed a little bit of work. Overall the food was okay but the service was amazing. The atmosphere was also really nice and quiet.
Absolutely beautiful venue and ambiance. I wish the food menu was a bit more than simple apps, burgers and sandwiches but I will go again just for the beauty of the place.
