El Gage es un restaurante de 4 estrellas, situado frente al parque Millennium en un edificio histórico que data de finales de 1800. Every detail was perfect! From our cozy booth, our complimentary glass of champagne (celebrating 15 year Anniversary), our delicious meal, excellent waiter….we enjoyed our time at the Gage!

Dined at the Gage last night - met the owner who the wife says is both charming & handsome. Girls at the hostess desk were delightful, food was great, Troy our server was excellent & very thoughtful. Thanks to ALL for a wonderful evening.

I wasn't overly impressed, with any aspect of The Gage. The dining area I was seated in was small and the tables were very close together. Due to this close proximity, it's very loud and at one point the server at the other table was literally shouting. If you go to their webpage, it's clear it's tight quarters - but something to note. It was very hard to hear the person I was dining with speaking. The food, I had the Beef Bourguignon and while good, wasn't spectacular. For the price, I found it to also be a very small portion. The person I was dining with had the Chicken Fried Lobster and said it was good. We opted to not have dessert, as the options were nothing spectacular. Service was ok, but nothing notable. Our server did not go out of their way to do anything above and beyond. Overall, the food was unremarkable, service was "ok" and if I had to choose to eat here again versus trying a different restaurant, I would opt for another choice.

We’ve been to The Gage multiple times and the food and service has always been great. The only slightly frustrating thing is that the 2-people tables are crammed in like sardines.

Food was fantastic and our server was great. Unfortunately we were seated very close to table with someone talking very loudly. It’s crowded at the Gage and I actually think that adds to Chicago restaurant vibe but this person couldn’t stop talking. It didn’t ruin our evening but it was very annoying.

Consistently good food but kind of random ambiance. This week i had lunch in a booth on the south sidevof the restaurant and there were no lights on. It was like eating in a cave. The back rooms have better light but feel pretty generic. Only the bar area and outside have appealing atmosphere.
