We have always enjoyed dining at The Gage, but our experience last evening was particularly noteworthy. EVERYTHING we tasted seemed to have been exquisitely prepared. Every dish was fresh and well seasoned. Service was excellent--both attentive and perfectly timed.

I had a lovely late brunch here yesterday for the first time and highly recommend for locals (me) and tourists alike. The menu is thoughtfully diverse but follows a common theme of deliciousness — there’s something for everyone ◡̈ The food! We feasted. *Perfectly* fried pickles to share (truly have never had better, from a Midwest girl.) I had a perfectly buttery lobster roll and my friend devoured her salmon avocado toast. There were so many delicious things on the menu, it was hard to choose. Staff/service was impeccable too. We had David as our server, who was knowledgeable, helpful, charming, and especially respectful of my friend’s food restrictions/preferences. Alex, behind the bar, offered the perfect drink recommendations ahead of our seated reservation. The hostesses greeted us warmly and reiterated the notes we’d included from our online reservation in advance — nice touch. I’ll definitely be back!

Not worth it, it maybe was good in 2008 when it was something but food is horrible and not worth $100+ per person

My wife and I arrived early before attending the Grant Park Music Festival. We were seated promptly. Our server asked if we were going to a show. We told her about the concert. We ordered drinks first and sat and relaxed. Then we shared a charcuterie plate which was perfect for two. Cheeses, meat, apples, honey, and nuts. We then split the wedge salad; plenty for two, even three. We ordered another round of drinks and split an entree. We never felt rushed. $135 plus tax and tip. A nice pre-concert meal.
