Loved by locals and visitors alike, The Gage is the iconic restaurant on Michigan Avenue featuring refined, rustic cuisine in the historic Gage Group Buildings. The Gage offers upscale, yet casual dining in a vintage atmosphere inspired by the gastropubs of Ireland and England. The Gage's menu "covers every craving" (TimeOut Chicago) and includes Scotch eggs, fresh seafood, locally made sausages, burgers, steaks and salads. The Gage offers the perfect setting for a casual drink, a business meeting or a formal event -- refined rusticity, steps from Millennium Park.

Genell was a capable and very friendly server! She knew the menu well and offered descriptions of different items to help us make our decisions. Genell also visited our table several times throughout brunch to inquire if we needed anything additional. In addition to the wonderful ambiance, we had a wonderful server! Thank you!

The restaurant was just too tight for our preference and a bit to pricey. There are so many other options in Chicago with a quieter atmosphere and more food for the money. Keep looking....

We have been to The Gage a number of times. This time we came after the car show for our daughter and grandson's birthdays. Our table was ready ahead of time because we got there early at 3:15 pm for a 4:00 pm Saturday reservation. When we found that the dinner menu would not be ready until 4:00 pm, they were quite accommodating and understanding allowing to certainly have cocktails until 4:00 pm. My daughter and wife ordered the Thai Coconut Curry, one with scallops and one with prawns. They both raved about it. My grandson had the hamburger and I had the venison burger without jalapenos (sorry, I am of German descent). I can tell you both were great since my grandson only ate half of his. I had it the next day for lunch. The service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. It was a good celebration.

In town to check out a school for my daughter and I found The Gage on TA. It didn’t disappoint. We had reservations and were early but were seated right away. Very cool ambiance. Warm lighting, fireplace, old school speak-easy feel. The service was fantastic. An abundance of very tasty craft cocktails and a wide range of food to choose from. Burgers to rack of elk. Our food was great. I highly recommend checking this place out!
