The food was delicious and our waiter was very attentive.
Had a great evening at The Gage.
Quality of the food is excellent, the service is great, the atmosphere wonderful.
Maggy,, our waitress was super nice and friendly and made great recommendations. Music was nice and not too loud.
Will definitely come back.
Great service! Staff is friendly and accommodating! Central location across from the park and right on Michigan! Food is good!
Thank you so much for the wonderful food and service.
Just great food. Short menu, great atmosphere, attentive service. I already want to return.
Went to celebrate my engagement after proposing, great meal and drinks to remember forever.
Great service and great G&T. The asparagus soup and crab cake were the perfect afternoon meal.
Love the atmosphere.
A lovely alfresco summer evening of drinks and dinner!
Excellent fish and chips outstanding wait service. Special request for specific seating area was honored.
This is Chicago's most hospitable restaurant. Incredible service, excellent food, great location. Something for everyone. Love the Habanero Margarita!
Love this place. It's awesome every time. Highly recommend it.
Excellent beet and fig salad. Pork Chop tender and cooked to perfection. Halibut crust a bit too thick. Sat in the back where it is quieter and we could talk. Very personable waiter.
Good food and service. Nice atmosphere outside covered patio. Pricey. Downtown prices
In town for a visit and we always try to visit the Gage - food and service are great. The location makes it perfect for a visit to some of the great spots in Chicago - before or after a meal.
Tables too close. People next to us loud and distracting talking. Waiting too long for ticket. Dessert was outstanding though!
Wonderful ambience, food and service. When we asked for a booth because of a hard -of-hearing person, we were immediately moved to a booth where we could converse perfectly. Server and busperson were both top-notch and very attentive. The mussels, beet/fig salad, salmon and creme brûlée were all fabulous! A fantastic birthday celebration; we’ll return for many more.
Our waiter was wonderful! Took a while for the food to get to us, but the waiter handled it so well by explaining why and offered an additional drink on the house.
There’s no better place than the Gage for lunch in the Loop.
We have been to the Gage several times. The menu seems tired and the food options are just okay. There is not much to choose from. The food was pretty good but not impressive in comparison to other nearby restaurants at this price point. The bar is a nice place to meet a friend for a drink, but would not recommend this place for dinner.
SERVED ALCOHOL TO MY MINOR DAUGHTER! We ordered her a virgin cocktail but when the bill came it was priced as an actual cocktail. The waitress admitted the mistake with very little apology. I asked her to remove it. When the check came back she not only left it on there but charged my credit card for it. I then went to the manager who seemed to have very little interest in the matter as well. When I finally said I was going to issue a complaint her reply then became “What can I do for you now?” We completely understand mistakes can be made but to be so callous about such an error and then insist on charging a 16 year old for it boggles the mind.
Rosie was great!
Great brunch - food was fresh and well prepared. The berries on my French toast were piled high and delectable. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Great location for a bite when visiting the Loop.
Host when arrived were nice and pleasant. Seated quickly with reservation always a plus. Good nice and hot when arrived. Quick service mussels very good taste. Steaks cook perfect. Drinks good.
Always great at The Gage!
The service and ambiance are great! Food was good but priced a but high for what it is. The highlight was dessert- the peach cobbler is delicious and generous, it put us in a food coma.
Great place to eat, Wes was very knowledgeable about the food and helpful. Look forward to coming back.
We had Saturday brunch - very busy as the weather was nice outside. We wanted to sit outside, but reservations for outdoor seating arent allowed, first come first serve.
Would have liked to be able to reserve outdoor seating.
The Gage was highly recommended and it live up to the expectation. Waitstaff (Al) and bartender (Oz) were attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Gave great food recommendations. The mussels were excellent. The Halibut and Salmon and complements were cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Located very well on Michigan ave, down the street from Orchestra Hall and the Art Institute. Great food and service. I would have given the ambience a higher rating, but it
was so loud that I at times at to shout at my friend and had to keep asking her to repeat what she was saying.c Not a great place for good food and onversation. The music could have been much more modified.
The peach cobbler for two was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Attentive staff. Highly recommend
I used to live in Chicago and the Gage was a favorite spot of mine. I make sure to dine there every time I return for a visit. It never disappoints. The fish and chips are excellent and the flourless chocolate cake is divine!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at The Gage. The food and drinks were delicious and the hospitality even better. When we return to Chicago, we will return to The Gage!
Great lunch salads
So glad the food is still good after all these years we had a brilliant meal
Food, drinks, service all lacking. Really like The Gage, but a really unpleasant date experience.
Excellent service, great cocktails (a little weak), delicious food. Our server was wonderful.
Really remarkable food here...advertised as a high level pub; it meets that and more. The chef is special!
