The wait staff was very friendly. Reservation was honored. The food was very average in my opinion. Not worth the price tag. My wife enjoyed her drink very much, and she ordered the pesto ravioli special, said it was good. I had the Tagliolini, I was not impressed to be honest. The shrimp lacked flavor and the sauce was quite watery. Probably will not be returning.
Sorry to see it so empty but its January and Omicron is in full force. Staff was very friendly and enjoyed the food and loved the location.
This is a soulless hotel restaurant.
If I'm being honest, eating at Outback (both food and service) would have been better.
The bus boy provided better service than Conor, the waiter. The waiter was disheveled, inattentive, didn't proactively make recommendations or attempt to upsell, and was just below the fine or upscale dining standard you expect. Given the restaurant's location in an upscale hotel, a good waiter could make out like a bandit here with tips.
My first course (seared scallops) was good, although the seasoning overpowered the flavor of the scallops. If the scallops are quality you don't need to cover them in a blend of spices and seasoning.
My second/main course was the salmon. The waiter said the chef prepares it medium rare. It came out raw, outside of some searing on the outside. Completely inedible. Who wants to eat cold barely cooked salmon? When I can cook better salmon at home, there's a problem with the kitchen.
More troubling: the restaurant is not sanitary. I saw staff brush off the placemats and reuse the placemats between guests. That's disgusting. This is the same surface silverware goes on and it's also the same surface water glasses are placed top down. It's funny because the restaurant doesn't have menus because of supposed COVID concerns (customers use a QR code that doesn't really work) but they don't replace placemats. Here's an idea: get tablecloths and changed them in and out between customers.
Normally, BLT's restaurants are on the better side of things but not here. Obviously, this is the reason why the hotel recommends its lobby bar and in-room dining to guests.
Avoid. Eat in the hotel lobby or find an Outback.
Great food! Great staff!
Great experience. They accommodate if you have allergies and the attention was great.
We had dinner at the Florentine on Christmas evening. We were seated immediately at 6:00 and our server asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered 2 cocktails which came quickly with no problem. Unfortunately when our drinks were finished things went downhill very quickly. We asked to see the wine list. The wine list/book was brought to our table and we quickly decided what wines we wanted. Here's where it starts to get bad. We did not see the server again for 1/2 hour and were unable to order the wine. I looked at my watch and it was now 7:30, 1 and 1/2 hours after we were seated.
When we finally did see the server again we decided we better order both the wine and our entrees since there was no telling when we would see him again. We got our entrees a little before the wine, but I guess we could live with that. While the steaks were good ; the bone-in rib eye better than the somewhat tough New York strip.
We decided we wanted to have desert and coffee, but you guessed it - no server. We managed to finally attract a busboy who tried to help us but was not real familiar with the dessert menu We did finally manage to order the desserts and coffee from the helpful busboy who then brought the food and beverage.
We should mention that the restaurant was not crowded, in fact there were very few diners seated near us. When the evasive server finally did appear with the check, we did leave a good gratuity ,only because it was Christmas. We left the restaurant at 9:00, 3 hours after arriving. One last aside; we asked the server why they were not playing any Christmas music over the sound system, since it was Christmas; his response was "they played Christmas music yesterday" and walked away. We should mention that this was not our first time here and in the past we had much much better service, however, based on this experience , I will not be returning to the Florentine.
We had a wonderful server, and the food was incredible.
Great food and service
We celebrated our friend's birthday. Wonderful ambiance ; classy and upscale. Delicious food. Very friendly staff.
My husband, my best friend, and I decided to check out The Florentine yesterday as the menu looked great. I also called before making a reservation to inquire about the availability of mocktails for me as I’m taking a small break from alcohol. The woman on the phone was so polite and very informative. When we got there, we were loving the hotel and restaurant’s festive decor and it was so clean! Once we sat down, the bartender (who was also taking orders) was super friendly and funny - we knew we’d like him! We ordered the Margherita pizza (sooo good and you cannot beat that happy hour price), the pumpkin ravioli, and fettuccine bolognese, which were all fantastic! The drinks, including mocktails, were great and he was very flexible in making my drink how I wanted. The hostess (she had cute pink hair!) and food runners = also, excellent service. We will most definitely come back here - it’s a hidden gem in an area we need to hang out in more often.
Great service and nice staff/attention. Food was excellent.
Went for brunch on a Sunday. Fairly empty so noise level not an issue but could see how it could be noisier during busy times. Felt more like lunch so I preferred meatballs which were dry along w/ polenta it came with…literally spongy. My daughter had the avocado toast…couldn’t see avocado. We both had tea and total came to about $50 / not including the 20% tip. Service was ok but it’s Covid so sensitive to tipping even when it’s not great service. Our server seemed uninterested. Would not recommend unless staying at this hotel and nothing else open.
The place was empty yet the horrible waitress rushed us through the entire process. The food wasn’t correct and she made zero attempt to fix it when told about it. Just gave a flippant response and walked away. Had a second issue and she never came back to ask so we went to the bar to get the things we needed. Next time we saw her she dropped off the check in the middle of us eating entrees. Didn’t ask if we needed anything. She came back to get the check and stared at it but we weren’t ready to pay. She looked annoyed. We planned to order coffee but didn’t want to annoy her any more so we finished up and paid. No surprise this place was empty at noon on a Sunday during peak brunch time.
Tasting portions of pasta proves to be a nice offer. Got to taste the scallop risotto and pumpkin ravioli. Maybe consider 2 pieces of scallop next time. Salmon was well-prepared with skin. Wine selections are very good. Tiramisu was special. Solid service. Good crowd but not noisy.
Extremely loud restaurant with a lounge that connects and definitely has a "bar" feel. The food was just ok. My stuffed shrimp pasta was very fishy flavored and while I love an "al dente" pasta this was quite literally crunchy. Like a crunchy ravioli. The cocktails were fantastic.
Also to note they have a good "happy hour" but despite mentioning we wanted that they set us in the dining room which is very much connected but I guess they don't offer it there? I suppose they set us there because the lounge had some kind of party in it. However they refused to honor the happy hour. I don't know -- it just felt strange.
All in all, I'd find somewhere else to go or eat downstairs in the bar area which was great!
Pricey but that was expected. The food was good and the service was amazing.
We really enjoy the Florintine for Brunch. The food is excellent. It is a relaxing, pretty setting. It is a quiet place to visit with friends.
Our server was a 1 out of 5, food was a 3.5 out of 5, but atmosphere was a 5. Your best team member was the host—-great personality and make people feel come (young gentlemen). Our sever operated at the speed of molasses with personality of a dead cactus
The food and service were ok. They were accommodating for a larger party (8 people)!
Absolutely amazing experience! Such a beautiful restaurant and FRESH seasonal food! Outstanding
Thank you for seating us in the back, quiet table, as per our request. My hearing impaired husband was especially appreciative. The food was, as always, outstanding. That pork shank special? Out of this world, as was the burrata appetizer, and caramel gelato closer. The service was fabulous.
Hard time understanding the server. Food kinda bland.
Pasta overcooked, Server Not very attentive
Nice Ambiente, Not too noisy
The wait staff was exceptionally courteous. The pork chop dinner I ordered was a flavor revelation. The savory interpretation was so delicious.
The steak and pan a cotta were particularly good. The steak was also a good value. We also enjoyed the Caesar and pasta. The service was attentive but not quite as professional as we might have expected.
This experience was nice! We were seated in a timely manner prior to our reservation. We ended up getting the Thanksgiving special which was a set menu composed of a 3 courses: Soup/Salad, Entrée, and Dessert. Each course was exquisite! My favorite was the dessert: Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta. We were also served different wine for each course. All tasted really good. Our waiter was very attentive and timed our next course perfectly! Service was amazing. Can’t wait to visit again!!
Great experience.. bottomless mimosas were off the chain! Will be back again ..
I didn’t even know this restaurant existed. We were surprised at how much we loved it. Menus were QR code which was weird. The service was fantastic. I mean truly not what what we expecting. The food was also flipping good. We will be back.
Server energy was very off and just bad. food was alright one of 3 entrees were good.
I was a little miffed by the $16 piece of salmon on my salad that was very small and hardly worth it... otherwise, this is a great lunch spot with a great crowd
Just wonderful. The gentleman that served us was fabulous. He worked with us to find a wine we like and was very helpful. Thank you!!
Came for a business lunch after two years away during Covid. Glad these guys are operating again. Service was a little spotty, and the space is still quite loud.
Our bartender, Rudolpho, and his cocktails were wonderful. However, the food left a lot to be desired and they were out of at least a few items on a Saturday. This place seems to be coasting on the fact that it’s in a hotel. Would come back for the service and drinks!
This was a strange experience. The waiter never introduced himself and took 25 minutes to come over. No information about wine lists or specials or anything was provided. The food was decent. Definitely more Applebee’s vibe than what I would expect from a restaurant in JW. Maybe it’s due to covid/ staffing issues? Not sure. Probably won’t go again to find out.
Great wine, food and company ! I will be coming back too try more of the amazing food
A pleasure to return to a Loop favorite; our server Christian was so welcoming!
